Finally fed up with her hair falling out of her messy bun, the dakr haired girl in the crowd reached up with a hand, pulling the elastic from her hair, black waves cascading down to the small of her back. She ran a hand through her raven locks as she danced, getting the stray strands from out of her face. She was beginning to get a little thirsty, so she began to make her way through the crowd to the refreshments stand. She was still half dancing as she made her way through the crowd, the music was just too infectious. The refreshments stand was in sight.
Then from out of nowhere, a hand reached out, grabbing the girl around her lower waist, fingertips brushing at the hem of her miniskirt. Chi spun around, dark eyes flashing dangerously as she sought out the source of the inconvenience. A tall boy, looking a bit older than her, his short dark hair already plastered to his head in spots from sweating. His eyes were glossy, and there was a half congnizant smirk on his face. Without a second thought, the girl balled up a fist (her left, since her right was conveniently indisposed for the next few weeks) and socked him right in the jaw. The boy yelled in pain, taking a few steps away from the crazy girl in the miniskit.
"Don't touch me, asshole."
She shouted at the now not so confident boy as she turned on her heel and continued in the route she had started. Soon she reached the refreshment stand, running a hand through her long hair again, and chosing a soda.

"Huh... That's weird, I could have sworn I heard the sound of fist on jaw action..." Atticus tilted his head, just in time to see some guy get one right in the jaw of all places. Good arm on whoever it was. Getting back to working his way through the crowd, he couldn't see any sign of the cutie from earlier. When he looked back at the scene of the disruption, there was said girl, walking towards the drinks.
"Just my luck..." Atticus groaned and turned around, again weaving in and out of people's way. Just in time to have some other girl turn in his path and start dancing like he was all hers. Holding up a finger and flashing a apologetic smile, he moved around her and finally got off the dance floor.
"Hey! Chi! Atticus called ut, stumbling a bit as he made it to the refreshment stand. He re-adjusted the visor and gave her that smile. "Sorry about that. Needed to talk about getting in another set sometime." Grabbing a bottle of propel from the various containers of liquid refreshment, he turned his back to the stand and looked over the crowd. A little grin was plastered on his face, it wasn't coming off anytime soon.

Chi spun around again, her bottle of soda in her right casted hand, her left already balling up instinctively before she realized who it was getting her attention. The girl started, a smile passing across her face. It was Atticus, but he seemed to be wearing a blue visor...just like the one DJ from earlier. She put two and two together when he mentioned getting another set in, and she stared at him for a moment, her mouth open in slight astonishment.
"You DJ here?!? How cool!"
Chi couldn't hide the excitement in her voice as she said this. Sure, he probably got this reaction a lot from girls, it was probably half the reason he went around with the characteristic visor in the first place, but it really was cool. She ran a hand through her long dark hair again to get some rogue strands out of her face before opening her bottle of soda and taking a sip. Dancing always made her so thirsty.

Atticus laughed nervously when she put two and two together. And of course, she got four. If it weren't for the lighting, she could have seen a little red in his cheeks. He forgot about that potential reaction to his headgear. It was his first night, so he wasn't expecting having anyone really have much of a reaction to him being a DJ and all. It was one of the few things that could embarass him, positive recognition.
"I'm not a DJ here, just a one-night kind of thing, ya know? It was my first time on stage." That grin had turned from content to nervous as he tried to explain that he wasn't that good. "I'm better when I'm not staring down at a bunch of people expecting a good show.... I was so nervous up there..." With a nervous laugh, he then tried to take the focus off of him. He was going to become a gibbering idiot if he didn't catch his cool. "You got a pretty good left on you. Another 259 student, right? Haven't seen you around the halls or anything. I'm guessing you come here to blow off steam from school. Me too!"

Chi could only grin at his nervousness, it was kinda cute, but then again, it was one of the perks of her hobby, catching guys in tha toffguard kind of situation. The uncertainty of the male gender was insanely satisfyingm it was one of the reasons she had begun her manipulative hobby in teh first place. But either way, she didn't think he did too bad of a job with his set, especially since it was his first time.
"Your set was fine."
She assured him with a smile. Her expression took a curious turn when he mentioned having a good left on her. So he'd seen her slg that guy? Oops. She glanced down at her left hand, clenching and unclenching it for a moment as she remembered the moment. Then she let out a light laugh, her dark eyes sparkling in the dimness of the warehouse-turned-rave.
"Yeah, luckily I still have my slugging arm in working condition. But yeah, I'm a 259 student too."
She said with a wink, lifting up her casted right arm for him to see.

Downing some of the water let Atticus recollect himself. He simply had to reassess the situation and he was back to his normal, or not so normal, self again. In a matter of seconds, the nevouness was gone and that grin was back on his face. She had said his set was fine, which to him, meant he needed to really work out the kinks of his set. His transitions were probably off again. It was a lot harder to work a real turntable set than a recreation.
"Thanks, I'll be sure to do better next time." It was a promise too, DJ'ing was one of the few things he took seriously enough to consider the activity more than just a hobby. Then again, he had a lot of hobbies too.
Atticus took off the pink glowstick he had around his neck, and snapped the stick open. Leaving the snapped stick in one hand, and taking her hand, and cast, in the other, he got ready to try something out. "Hey, check this out!" He grinned and started to draw with the pink glowing liquid. When he was done, there was a tiger-stripe style pattern on her cast, except one spot that was circled, and contained what looked to be a c-shaped brushstroke with the top end tapered into a comet's tail, and the comet itselt crashing through a diamond shape. It was his own little design. But all teh glowy from the stick was gone, too bad. "Like it?"

Chi simply smirked at the boy's comment at doing better next time. He was a bit critical of himself, but that also meant that he didn't just settle with being fine, being just alright. That was good. The girl gasped when he broke his glow stick and began drawing on her cast with it. No one ever touched her without her permission, as that boy with the sore jaw knew quite well, and now this boy who was more or less a stranger to her was drawing on her cast, when art was her thing.
"Hey what are you..!"
She began before trailing off, a curious expression on her face. She rotated her arm as best she could, looking at the design he'd made. It was different, she especially liked the comet diamond looking thing, and it even had a C in it. C for Chi, how cute. She grinned at him, still glancing down at her newly decorated arm.
"Yeah, that's cool. A DJ and an artist?"
She asked curiously, tilting her head to the side as she spoke, a few strands of her long black hair falling in front of her shoulder.

"I like to do almost everything! Well, I'm sure there are things I haven't done though... Like styling hair..." Just then, Atticus looked at the purple streaked strands of his hair, and the long, yet pencil thin tail that was hanging over his shoulder, embedded glowstick included. "Uh, bad example. But I know for a fact that I can't sing! It's like listening to Ben Stein going through puberty..." He just had to go and use THAT similie. Horrible, awful sounds could be brought to the imagination just by hearing that phrase. He almost shuddered at the thought.
"Oh, and sorry if I freaked you out or something when I took your hand. Certainly don't want to end up like that smooth guy over there." The sarcasm in the word 'smooth' was harsh and unrelenting. "People have no manners these days. I know, I'm one to talk..." He laughed a little. Atticus knew full well he could be pretty rude and disrespectful. There was already a teacher or two who wanted to see his face beat in.
Atticus smiled, his eyes closing some as they tended to do when he was having a good time talking with someone. "So what do you like to do? I mean sure, you like to party and have a good time at raves, but that can't be all. What's you favorite past time? I'd bet you're pretty good at it!"

The dark haired freshman laughed at Atticus' simile comparing his singing to Ben Stein's puberty. He probably wasn't that bad, but whatevs. A sort of sly smirk graced the girl's features at his appology, he must have noticed her face at first when he'd drawn on her cast.
"No, that's alright, I like it."
She said, admiring his work. It was cool to see the bright pink against the white of her cast. Sure, by morning it will probably be long gone, the glow completely distinguished. Maybe she'll draw over it in marker or something once she got home to make it stay, but for now it was fine as it was.
"My favorite pasttime? Well, believe it or not I'm not this wild all the time. I love the beach. And doing stuff at the beach. Drawing, reading, or just relazing and watching the world pass by..."
She said, before breaking off with a laugh, dark eyes sparkling again.
"I'm actually quite boring, compared to this."
She swept her uninjured hand in a wide arch, indicating the entire scene, sweeping down to include herself: her wild hair, clothing choices and brilliant makeup.

"Hey, that's cool! I never really relax at all. Always have something to do, ya know?" He turned back from the dancing and back to her. Taking another drink, he could taste the slight twinge of a berry flavor. Propel was probably his favorite drink out there. It was just good all around. Light flavor, great for being active, and there was a lot of it per bottle, unlike coke or something. Looking down at the cast, he stared at the C mark. The glowing pink looked pretty good, but it would probably be better in red with a blue diamond. Either that or black and green, his favorite color combination.
"But I don't think you're boring at all. You relax a lot, so what? We go to 259 of all places, we need our off time!" Giving her a reassuring smile and a thumbs up from his left hand, Atticus was getting pretty comfortable now. "And hey, do you know hard it would be to be so wild all the time? Gah, I get tired just thinking of it. Running around, left and right, party here, party there, do some homework in between. You'd have to be nuts to party twenty-four seven!" Maybe he was a little nuts in retrospect. The last time he had just relaxed was 'who knew when'. usually, he was just go-go-go.

"Yeah, I don't think I could handle the party life for a long period of time, it'd wear me out."
She agreed with a laugh, as it was true. Partying all the time would end up being counter productive, instead of making you feel better by escaping for a while, it'd in fact wear you down.
She took a large sip of her soda, glancing around at all the other dancers. This place was insane, the lights, the music, people dancing everywhere, this is the most carefree place in Long Beach.
"So, do you come here often?"
She asked, seeings that he was a DJ, he probably saw these sorts of scenes all the time. It was a wild life, but like Atticus had said, a party life meant almost no down time, but was it worth it?

"Come here often? Not yet..." Atticus shrugged nonchalantly. "You see, I got here just before autumn quarter started, so I haven't been here long. As such, I haven't had much of a chance to scope out all of the hotspots and such." He looked at both the crowd and her at the same time, both blurred by the edges of his peripheral vision. It was really all he could ask for. A girl, great beats, a constant party, lights everywhere. But if that was all he wanted, life wouldn't be exciting anymore, now would it?
The propel water was done with pretty quick. Atticus always got thirsty during these things. With so many bodies crammed into one space, dancing and cheering, there was always a lot of heat. Being from the rainy Great Northwest didn't really help either. While running a mile in gym class a few years ago, he had passed out from heat stroke. The temperature at the time was fifty-four degrees. But he had also come a long way from that part of his life. His earlier life had him running around even more than he did now, so he had energy to spare.
"Hey. I got an idea, might not be a very good one, but it's an idea none the less." Hopefully he wasn't rushing things or anything like that. He'd hate to piss yet another person off at the moment. "How about we go out on a little date sometime? Just something like lunch, or chill on the beach, maybe hang out at the mall... You know, something like that. I can understand if you don't want to, we did just meet tonight. And I've always seen the first few dates as just a way to see if we'd work together or not, so it's not like it's anything serious..."

"You just moved here? No wonder I haven't met you before..I've lived here basically my entire life."
..with an exception to about a year or two before highschool that she spent in Seattle with other family while her parents 'sorted out their problems,' but Chi wasn't about to go into detail about that with Atticus. Her expression perked up curiously when he asked her out. Quite bold of him, but then again he'd also grabbed her arm and had drawn on it. It was quite different from the other boys she'd dated, yet amazingly the same. This is why you do what you do, Chihiro. Boys are stupid. The freshman smiled, tilting her head to the right a fraction.
"Umm, alright."
Chi's attention was torn however as the DJ broke out with more techno-fied version of 'Walk Like An Egyptian,' and she gasped in an excited manner. True, the song was pretty techno-ish as it was, but this version was just freaking trippy. Glancing from the DJ platform to Atticus, she grabbed him by the hand and urged him back to the dance floor.
"Come on, let's dance."

She had actually accepted. That was awesome for him. How long had they known each other? Half an hour at most? But hey, who was he to complain, he had asked her too. The final fantasy battle victory music played in his imagination just long enough for her to take his hand and start pulling him to the dance floor. But then again, she didn't seem to excited about the date. Probably wouldn't work out. No problem really, it was just a high school date anyway. His body offered no resistance as she took him by the hand and led him down to the floor. Oddly enough, spaces opened up for them to move through. Must have been because she was a girl. Everyone made way for a cute face...
Dancing at a rave wasn't really dancing like you'd see anywhere else. It was more just moving your body at whatever impulse the mind had. Depending on the level of bass, or lack of lyrics, the dance floor could turn into a mess of bouncing bodies, jumping in unison and making the floor shake. Lucky for them, the warehouse was a lot more stable than the fourth floor of a hotel. All they'd be able to feel is the bass, not the bending of the floor under several hundred thousand pounds of weight.

((ooc: woohoo for FF victory music xD ))
Reaching the middle of the dance crowd, Chi spun once in the dancy kind of way before letting go of his hand. She began dancing to the song, her long black hair falling into her face every so often but she would just brush it away or ignore it. She'd probably put it up in a few minutes but for now she was fine. There was something about jumping around with loose hair that gave her the feeling of headbanging. It was odd, but oddly comfortable. To just break loose and everything
Chi joined in in the 'oh way oh's of the song like the rest of the crowd, smiling and dancing and just getting lost in the nightlife. That's the part that made it so addictive, the detachment from reality.
