Unlike most of the people, he wouldn't sing along, since he sounded so bad. Sure, nobody would notice his voice really, but it was a habit for him to avoid singing at all costs. He was perfectly fine with the crowds of people jumping around though. That was just plain fun. It got his heart racing, and it was moments like these that he really felt like it was all worth it. Unlike lots of people who just lost themselves in the crowd, Atticus absorbed every moment, every beat, every last feeling of ecstacy running through his body. Some called it a natural high, but it was much more than that. Being 'high' in drug terms was actually a really relaxed state. Atticus was completely the opposite. The entire party was a frenzied, chaotic state of being.
The one thing getting in the way of his moment of living was the visor over his face. Pushing it up over his forehead, it swept back his purple-streaked hair in a way that almost looked anime, because of the light amounts of gel he left in his otherwise unmanageable hair. When he looked over at Chi, he noticed she was having a great time as well. So at least they had that going for them. Taking a moment to smile at her, he went back into reveling in the glory of blacklights, glowsticks, and bass.

Chi looked away for a moment, her attention being beckoned by all of the lights and movement, but when she glanced back at Atticus, his visor was up and his hair was sticking back. She stifled a giggle with her hand, it was quite animated looking, and yet at the same time kind of attractive. She ran a hand through her own hair, it was beginning to stick to her from the heat, as everyone was beginning to sweat. Ew. Bringing her hands up and running them back from her forehead, she gathered her hair back, securing it into a single ponytail that fell to the small of her back.
But did that stop her from dancing in the slightest? Hell no..the rave was really beginning to kick up, they'd probably be reaching their population limit anytime now, then anyone else who wanted to come in would be stopped by the bouncer. She'd been stopped by a bouncer once, when the rave had reached its pop limit, it really sucked. There was a difference between being fashionably late and left out.

If there was one great thing about being a DJ, it was that there was never a population limit when he was concerned. If he had a set, people got kicked out for his sake. Say the limit was 250 people, if he had to go out for some air, it lowered to 249 so he could get back in. Just a small taste of what celebrity could hold for him. VIP access, full backstage pass, a whole different set of refreshments, and not a single bit of flak from the bouncers. Yeah, even at a low status, being a DJ was pretty damn nice.
Sweat baby sweat baby sex is a Texas drought Me and you do the kind of stuff that only Prince would sing about So put your hands down my pants and I'll bet you'll feel nuts Yes I'm Siskel, yes I'm Ebert and you're getting two thumbs up You've had enough of two-hand touch you want it rough you're out of bounds I want you smothered want you covered like my Waffle House hashbrowns Come quicker than FedEx never reach an apex just like Coca-Cola stock you are inclined To make me rise an hour early just like Daylight Savings Time
The somewhat familiar sound of "The Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang didn't sound too bad in the rather intimte settings of the rave. Everyone was close together, and the song was dancable, so why not? The cub DJ seemed to like going to offbeat songs. Regardless, Atticus kept dancing. And if there ever was a song that Atticus would ever possibly maybe but not quite want to sing, this was it.
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel Do it again now You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel Gettin' horny now

They were playing some good songs tonight. Familiar to give the crowd a sense of comfort yet not songs that have been overplayed to the point of redundancy. That's why Chi liked it here, it was like a fashion that never went out of style. She turned her attention back to her new acquaintance Atticus, curious of the topic he'd brought up earlier.
"So, what will we do? On this date of sorts.."
She fiddled with the pink glow bracelet on her left wrist, there was something about bright colored lights in a large dark space that fascinated her.
((ooc: ugh, short >.<))

"Well, we could do all sorts of things. I just like to improvise based on the mood and time. Like... A beach picnic if it's a sunny day and around lunchtime. Or maybe a movie if there's a potentially good film out. Just kind of go with the flow. If I plan too much, then it's easy to mess up the whole thing." Atticus really had to work his voice to get the message across, it was a lot to say after all.
But if there was any one thing he knew about the human heart, or rather the part of the mind that was emotions and instinct, he knew that it was too subject to change. Humans were fickle, chaotic beings, always struggling in the end to fulfill their own agendas. There was no truly selfless person out there, at least not in his opinion. And he asn't going to argue that he was any different. "Yeah, we can just kind of come up with the ideas when we get to the date. I hope you're not the strict, 'plan everything out' kind of girl... Otherwise you might just want to say no right now..." Of course she wasn't like that. He could understand if the lack of planning came off as annoying to her, but being around here for just that short time, he just somehow felt that she went with the flow in most situations.

Chi grinned at his explanation, it was quite cool. The last bunch of dates and half-dates she'd been on had been to go get food. At a restaurant oor some food place of some sorts. She missed the improvisation of an unconventional date, where they would do whatever they pleased at the time. For some reason, she found herself looking forward to this date with Atticus...maybe it was just the music, lowering her defenses. She'd only lowered her defenses to one other person, and he was badlyinjured at the time.
"Sounds fun."
She said with a smile, still dancing along to the music. Her long black ponytail swayed and bounced across her back as she danced, tickling her skin where her halter top didn't cover, but she was used to it. She'd had long hair all her life, and would always freak if anyone mentioned the idea of her cutting it.

It was good that she approved of an open plan. After all, with a "wild" guy like him, plans just tended to turn to dust. He grinned with satisfaction when she gave her reply, be it a bit muffled by music. While he watched her, and danced, he noticed her long hair. Normally nothing special, but it reminded him of his tail. It was longer than a california surfer's hair. Most barbers had tried to snip it off. He never understood why they couldn't appreciate a different hairstyle than the stuff shown in those fashion magazines. Then again, he never tried to understand the mind of any "hair design expert" he had ever met. If he could trim his own hair, he would but it was too hard to cut the back evenly.
"When and where would be good for you?" He asked her as they danced to yet another new beat. It probably would be better to talk about that outside or something, but it was a good way to break the musically-enhanced silence between them. He just liked to keep talking or listening, whichever was appropriate.

The darked haired girl shrugged at his question, she really had no preference as to when and where he took her out, she was more or less free on nights and weekends, and if he did propose a date that conflicted with anything she had planned, she could always tell him no.
"It really doesn't matter to me, except maybe if I get asked out to dinner or a meal one more time I think I maky have to turn you down. Originality would be nice, I think."
True, it was nice of a guy to buy a lady a meal and all, but it got old after a while. This boy seemed capable of something more interesting, just a look at his radical hair could tell her that. She hoped she wouldn't be disappointed in her assumption, as she was usually a good judge of character.

There were only two rules to their date. At least for the moment. The first was that it had to be an original kind of date. No dinner and a movie junk. No probs on that. Dinner dates were old hat. Rule number two; it had to be something relaxing. Not dull, but relaxing. Something to get their minds off of school and all the uptight, hyper-sensitive bore-fests that inhabited the school grounds. So what exactly was he to do? Take her street racing? Not good, getting a ticket would put a serious dent in the relationship, excuse the pun. And besides, no car, or license. Rave? Too much like tonight. Nothing agaisnt raves, but they're not a good 'repetitive' date while the couple was still in the trial period.
"Okay! I got it! No problems!" Atticus grinned after coming up with the best idea he had had in the last fifteen seconds. "I'll meet you at the mall, west gate, four o' clock, saturday! Make sure you come with a competitive attitude, and bring your A-game!" Flshing her a thumbs up, he knew she'd be able to figure out that they were going to the arcade. Hopefully, she was at least somewhat interested in games. And if they did end up hungry, there was a food court right there. If they got bored with the arcade, and they weren't hungry, there were all sorts of things to do closeby, since the mall was sort of the center of the "business" district.

Chi put on a curious expression at the boy's words. Mall...west gate? What was over there? She began running the list of stores on the west side of the mall through her mind, her eyes glinting in recognition as she remembered the arcade was there. Tres cool. Normally she didn't really care for video games, but the Long Beach Mall was known for it's extravagance as far as virtual gaming went. Sure, there were the traditional game consoles, but there was also ddr and they were also in the works of making a small laser tag 'field' in the former shop next door they had just purchased after it went out of business. Laser tag... So yeah, this date had potential, she supposed.
Chi laughed, however, as Atticus gave her a thumbs up and told her to bring her A-game...what kind of line was that? It was pretty dorky but in the same way kind of cute. But, in the name of all that was cool in the world, the dark haired girl simply nodded, a small grin playing across her features.
"Alright, I'll be there."
