What Makes A God? (GM)

Hades would pull Mathews soul from the air and put it back into his body. Anubis had already fixed the wound on Mathew's chest.

He took his first breath in what felt like a year. It felt so weird to be back in a body again. To be alive. Colors were vivid and sharp, the air seemed distinct, and the light was almost blinding. He covered his eyes with his stone arm as his real hand went into his pocket.

Barker saved his ass. He wanted to know that he was still okay. In some shape or form.

He would feel the statue and if he pulled it out he would notice it was beginning to crack from the strain of holding Barker's soul.

[Mathew Amtrum]

The anchor wouldn't last long. And that meant soon Barker's soul would be doomed to go back to where it belonged. With a grunt of effort he would push himself up to a sitting position and look at everyone around the room. Giving them a deep bow, the statue clutched in his hand.

"How long was I out?"

Was it minutes? Hours? Heaven forbid days? After the fight back in 552 his sense of time just felt distorted, he had no idea how long he had been there.

"Lord Hades, if you are well enough I regret that I must ask you for a favor before time runs out."

[Sean Barker]

Anubis would answer.

"You where out for three hours and fifty two minutes. Charon and Hel lost hold of your soul, but Hades kept his grip. Another minute or two and I don't think he'd of been able to put you back."

Charon and Hel where resting, exhausted and sweat covered. Hades even covered in the look of exhaustion and strain.

"Whatever it is, Mathew. Ask."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Barker." He said slowly. "When I fell into the world I was lost in my past. He brought me back from the brink. Without him I would be unable to have come back. He saved me."

God it pained him to admit that. That he needed saving at all. And that it had been Barker to do it.

"I owe him my life and it is only fitting to return the favor. I ask that you give him his body back Hector."

He said mirroring Hades by using his real name.

Hades eyes widened slightly, enough emotion being shown that it was obvious to any who knew, Hades wasn't phased by much.

"I said name it, and you have... Reapers... Bring me the body of Sean Barker."

And it would be done. All the gods of death in attendance would move Barkers soul from the figurine to his body. It would take a few minutes, but Barker's eyes would open, and he'd sit up slowly. Looking around, listening.

"Unexpected Mathew... But appreciated."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"A life for a life Barker. I am not without honor. However your crimes are not washed from you. You will still need to be held in captivity, but if you truly wish to defeat Strike then this is your chance to help us do so. You are now without a mask."

He folded his arms over his chest. This man took his arm. This man took his world. Nearly killed his beloved. Hooked the closest thing he had to a friend up to a generator. This man was Mathew if things had gone differently.

"Those are the terms. You have your life, but I can not grant you your freedom."

[Sean Barker]

"Be bound forever, or help defeat Strike... With that mask out of the way, I can help where I can... At this point however, he may try to use my plan against us."

That was as much of an agreement as they where going to get. Hades went to find a place to sit. Anubis continued healing everyone in the room.

[Mathew Amtrum]

And Mathew would also find a place to sit down. The underworld had worn him out. He was tired, but functional. He glanced back to Hades and the others. Trying to judge how everyone was holding up.

"I'd wager that he will. And then we will likely become outcasts. I like to count on the loyalty of my Men. Of our men. But the average person if given back the world they had? Or close enough? I can't see them fighting against that. And really, can we blame them if they don't?"

His shoulders slumped. He was used to being the bad guy. Of being painted the villain. He could work like that. Because he had to. He wasn't sure how some of the others would deal with that though.

[Sean Barker]

"It may test loyalties... My plan was to let that rip you apart, after building a unified government a world wide government, people would literally volunteer to work for me, soldiers, experiment volunteers. No more catching people, no more kidnappings, torture... Normalcy. My plan was to have the world hate you so much that your own morals betray you... I doubted it'd work on the Dragons, but Crows? even past experiments? I don't see them staying in a rebellion for long. When the civilians they say they protect hate them."

Barker was simply stating the facts of his data gathered.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I think the corps would stay loyal yes. But civilians. Again, I couldn't blame them if they did side with him. If he is offering food, medicine, and a normal life again..."

He shrugged.

"Makes you wonder what we are even fighting for if that were the case. Ya know?"

Of course he knew. It was his plan. And it was a good one. Mathew wished he had thought of it.

They'd leave it at that in silence.

Hades, would speak up after that.

"I believe the council needs to hear this."

Barker would speak as well.

"Indeed, Strike has all the resources and all my people, my files, and my plans. He could act out my plan with but a word."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Then the sooner we act the better. We are already too far behind. Every moment from here on out counts. So let's make it count."

And this would be a good time to bring up unifying. Because if Barker's plan comes into effect then being separated would only get them all killed in the end. Now more than ever they needed unity.

He makes a copy of someone's Qi into a physical orb of multi-colored light and is able to place that copy into any material thing from ink, to gloves, to stone tablets.

Mathew gets a new PNPC!

Hades would look to Karen.

"Karen, send word, call for a summit with the counsel."

Karen would take off and Hades would stand.

"Lets head to Mount Olympus. We'll have my Reapers stand around Sean, to give the illusion of prisoner ship. They wont think to ask too many questions with me near by and able to rip his soul out."
