A Breath for Defeat [Damien?]

[Damien Blaze]

Scene didn't answer but she got a feeling, obviously sent from him that resoundedly said.

"No."

Damien turned, clearing his throat and would toss Arianna in the fire!

Hyperion would crouch, nobody watching. His golden eyes stared into her.

"Strength. Breathe. Assess and exist. Now stand up, Shadow walker."

It felt like the world was spinning. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest and feel the burst of blood in her veins and arteries. Her field of vision narrowed. She was...

For a second Kyrie swayed before two gold suns crossed into her sights and a voice accompanied them.

She listened, and grounded herself with the words and followed his instructions. Breathe. Slow it down. Assess. It wasn't Scene, nor David. Her sister was going to be okay. She had to know that. David wasn't going to die.

The blonde swallowed, dryly, but nodded. She was still pale, but no longer like she was a ghost. Her hands clenched and she quietly murmured her thanks. After another breath or two, she pushed herself up to her knees, then rose to her feet.

She hadn't seen the hand.

But if it wasn't Scene and it wasn't David...there was no way the King of the Titans beyond the Wall would be so weak.

"Who..?"



The fire flared, embers and ash floating up with the sudden displacement caused by the body being thrown in. Then, the body of the other Barrial went up in flames as the fire roared. It was like she was fluffy tinder, despite the blood and flesh and bones. Soon there would be nothing.

And even the great fire in the pit went out, leaving nothing but smoldering ash.

And Damien knew...it would be just a matter of time. Ten minutes, or thereabout.

Kiyr would get no answer and see no one!

Damien crouched next to the ash and smiled, his pounding heart slowing as the grin took over and he chuckled.

Thadda girl. Come back to the world of the living.

David turned, and would watch Kiyr and look around, trying to see who might have touched her. All the titans were moving, now...but none of them stood out.

She could feel her teeth start to chatter, but focused on breathing and keeping herself from succumbing to the stress and shock. She looked around, wide-eyed, as the Titans started to move. None stood out.

But something had happened.

Deciding the best thing would be to try, it was only a couple seconds before that mask of hers materialized, wings sweeping back to stretch lightly behind her head. And, added to it, there seemed to be an armor-like layer of black feathers that layered overtop her jaw and down her neck, disappearing beneath her shirt.

She scanned the Titans, searching...




There was a slight tint of colour beneath some of the ash. But only slight...and it seemed darkened.

She wouldn't see anyone of Note. She saw Eos, and Hyperion, of course, who stood out like flares. There was a very young boy who was heading inside. The light of his power emanating from his chest was small. The old man who took him inside the cave had a smaller light. There were three youth by the door who watched her curiously. There was a female in armor with a spear by the woods. She seemed pissed.

David turned to Kiyr.

"Kiyr. Are you okay?"

The youthful...and the old. They stood out to her, despite the fact that their lights were "small". She stepped forward before pausing at David's words. She was slowly starting to regain a bit of colour...

"...I did not think I would be, before...but right now, yes. I am just recovering." She took a breath before glancing to the woman with the spear. "Would you talk with her? Ask her why she is so angry, for me? I need to go speak with some other Titans that are just leaving."

Divide and conquer...kind of. But she was only one person and could only handle so much on her own. But she would go and continue on, trying to find the older man and boy.

[David B.]

David seemed confused....but would nod, heading over to the woman! Kiyr, meanwhile, would find the boy over by the weapons, crouched, checking them out. The old man was nowhere to be seen.

"David... It was not you. Or Scene. And I doubt Kronos is so weak that his qi would fade that quickly. I want to find whomever it is...so I can thank them."

She murmured as she approached the kid, figuring he would most likely hear because he knew something was up. The fact the old man wasn't there after such a brief time was a cause for concern, but she watched the child...

...inspecting weapons..?

For now she remained quiet to watch. Then...

"Hello?"

The boy turned to her, having been crouching, looking at the weapons in awe. He stood quickly, bringing a hand up to his mouth, a little worried at the stranger coming over to speak with him. He glanced around at all the faces he knew, and blinked in innocence.

"Hi."

His voice was quiet but...he didn't seem entirely afraid. Just...innocently curious.

For a moment, the boy's appearance caused her to hesitate, eyes widening like saucers. That face seemed so familiar.

She took in a breath and then slowly crouched with a smile. A friendly smile to put the child at ease. Larger than her normal ones. But not too large.

"What are you up to, little one? Where did the older gentleman that was with you go..?"

She had another question, but didn't want to overwhelm him.

[David B.]

The kid looked toward the doorway.

"He went to give food to Andrew."

He watched her, then asked a question of his own.

"Whats your name?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

"...my name is Kiyr. What about you..?"

She would wait for him to answer, then asked a question, though she was curious if the boy meant Scene and Andrew. And how he could know it was Andrew if that was the case.

"Did you see anything happen to the lady when she was being held by the man near the fire..?"

Sometimes the young saw many things...and they were more open to telling about them.

He smiled.

"Toby."

He would get a confused look when she asked about Arianna, and rather then answer, would turn and run!

Wait what—?

Kiyr's eyes widened and she was up like a shot and after the boy!

"Toby, wait..!"

[David B.]

He raced through the crowds, pushing through people and darting this way and that....and after a moment would vanish among the mass of Titans in the main living quarters, where over a thousand of them stayed.
