A Breath for Defeat [Damien?]

Crap! No!

Kiyr would take to the shadows if there were enough Titans massed in one place. It would give her a unique view of where the child was fleeing to because she was essentially looking at their feet.

[David B.]

She would indeed spot the child racing through the masses, crawling at one point, and running through a door at the other end of the room!

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie wasted no time in racing after him, popping out once she couldn't travel along with the crowd any longer to sprint after the child with a soft cry!

She glanced to look at his shadow, wondering if she could use it to slingshot herself if she joined her qi to it.

[David B.]

She came out from the shadow and the boy looked back, startled and scared that the scary blonde lady was chasing after her! Once through the door (which happened to be a clothes closet) he would hide behind the hamper!

[Kyrie Blaze]

The kid was fast and ran longer than Maddie had, she could give him that much. But he was still a child and children hid.

"Oomph! Gah..~"

Kyrie quickly figured it wasn't the best thing to run full into a clothes closet...after the fact. She took a couple quick, deep breaths...and used her qi in the dim light to find the boy.

"...Toby..?"

She had something of an idea that she probably scared him, so her voice was gentle and hesitant.

It was nearly thirteen minutes later that there was a glint and flicker of light before a flare and plume of fire ran over the outline of a body. It burned away in a second or two, leaving Arianna laying on the ground.

Her chest heaved in panting breaths but this time she didn't jerk into a sitting position. She lay there, stunned, it seemed, staring straight up at the trees and slight peek at the night sky.

Phantom, fathomless blue eyes floated above her. She couldn't remember what else. Was said and done. Was she dying still? She didn't even notice that she was breathing.

Toby shouted at her.

"GO AWAY! STOP CHASING ME!"

He seemed to be scared out of his wits. Fortunately, a kindly voice would speak from behind her.

"Toby. Come out now."

The elderly man standing there, hands behind his back, was watching her closely. Studiously. He seemed somewhat gentle, and possessed the same ancient look the other titans did. He was strangely small in size, for a titan, but still had those golden yellow hues they all possessed. He was barely as tall as David, and seemed quite frail.

"May I help you, miss?"

Toby darted past Kiyr and hugged his legs, glaring at her.

[Damien Blaze]

Damien already had a blanket brought to him by Hyperion that he would lay over her, letting out a breath of relief despite her telling him this would happen. He moved into the ash, which was barely warm, and would lift her up to carry her inside.

"You scared me. I don't like being scared."

It was as close to a reprimand as he would come.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie jerked back at the scream, her eyes widening.

"So—"

The voice from behind her caused her to both jerk a little as guilt lashed her for chasing the frightened boy and turn to look at the elderly man. She stared, surprised, though her gaze slipped down to Toby as he skirted by to cling to his legs. She blinked a few times before stepping out of the closet, herself.

"I had noticed you both outside with the commotion, and I had asked Toby if he had seen what happened to my sister when the man was holding her by the fire. He ran...and I chased him." Her gaze turned down to the boy and she crouched where she stood to be able to look him in the eye. "I apologise for frightening you, Toby."

Damien's face and the edge of some fabric swam into view. Realization she was actually alive and breathing and able to move on her own hit, causing a tear slipped from each eye to streak back over her temples; she was alive. And, with her clothing destroyed this time - her own fire didn't consume clothing but regular fire seemed to be another matter - she brought her hands up to clutch the blanket as her eyes squeezed shut.

Arianna took in a stuttered breath and one hand let go of the blanket to hold onto Damien, instead. She didn't understand why...

"S-Sorry."

She pressed her face against his neck and just...tried to breathe.

The old man cocked an eyebrow.

Chasing a child who obviously didn't want to chat? Of course he was scared. But he didn't berate her for it. He understood that she was probably just looking for answers. He would nod and turn to Toby.

"Head to your room, Tobias. I'll be there soon to tuck you in."

Toby nodded.

"Okay Grandpa."

Toby nodded, and eyed Kiyr before running off again, sprinting quickly. The old man turned back to her and gave a kindly smile.

"I'm sure I can help you better than the child can. What questions did you have?"

He would turn around to start walking, gesturing that she should follow while they spoke.

[Kyrie Blaze]

The weighted stare of an elder, even a kindly one, made the blonde internally squirm. Good idea to chase the kid? Not so much. But what else could she do?

She sighed as she straightened. The boy didn't trust her, but she had t really made the best first impression. So she trailed along with the elderly man...and tried to start off on the right foot.

"Well, first... My name is Kiyr. May I have the honor of knowing yours?"

[David B.]

He kept walking, smiling kindly at the people around him.

"My name is Caelum. Most call me Old man Cael when they think I'm not listening. My full name is probably too old and difficult for you to pronounce so...Cael will do."

He gave her a toothy grin, his eyes sparkling despite his age.

"You have the blood of the Gods in you. Quite interesting, having you here as an ally. Always liked the Gods. They have fire."

[Kyrie Blaze]

The blonde smiled at his name; Latin, 'the heavens'. And if she recalled correctly it was also the name for a constellation.

"I am pleased to meet you, Cael, though I apologise for chasing your grandson and scaring him."

She watched him as they meandered along and managed a tiny chuckle as he spoke of her lineage.

"My grandfather is Odin. You may find the story of how I came to be allied with Hyperion interesting, as well..." A story she would share if he wished to hear it. "Though before I get into that...you saw what happened when my sister was released from Kronos' qi..? Would you share what happened with me?"

[David B.]

He nodded.

"It's okay. He's a jumpy boy. Seen too much in the last few weeks. He'll be alright."

Cael would blink a little at her questions, mentally logging that she was related to Odin. Some information was good to keep up on.

"I did see your sister, dead. I also saw a hand grab her ankle. I did not see who it belonged to, however. I have my theories."

He glanced up at Hyperion, who walked back into the cave ahead of Damien, who was carrying Arianna into the back. Hyperion turned and gave a kind nod to the old man but didn't move on from there. He headed over to the forge to finish his work. Cael looked back to her.

"It was likely Ouranos, the first Titan."

He blinked innocently.
