The Offer

ooc: I do not believe in closing a thread for only one person, but I mainly only want to rp with Jyo, but if you feel like your character should be here then you may post.

Sitting inside a local teashop on a breezy winter day was a lone green hair freshman drinking Jasmine Tea. He was sitting at a table meant for two guests against the far wall with his ipod on listening to music. Strangely even though the green hair person was sitting by himself at the moment his table was set up for two as if he was waiting for some one to show up.

Grabbing the teapot Cliff slowly poured tea into his cup until it was 3/4 full. Once it got to that point Cliff then place the pot back in his tray. Picking up the cup with both hands Cliff took a small sip of it before he placed it back down onto the table slowly.

Turning his head towards his cell phone Cliff then hit the ‘ok’ button sending a message to Jyo about the location of the teashop and that they needed to talk about something important.

[Jyo]

Hmm whats this? Thought Jyo pulling out his cell-phone hearing his tone for messages sound off. He rarely got messages as most people knew when he'd be able to answer and called during those times.
From Cliff. About some important meeting? Well from what I could tell when we met it's worth taking seriously. Better get to it. He thought and put his phone away then headed out to his car.

Not long he left he pulled into the parking lot of the teashop. He got out closing the door and headed to the doors. Today was one of the rare times he wore casual clothing. Consisting of a black tank-top and a pair of white jeans with sneakers. A drastic change from his loosly worn suits. He looked around noticing Cliff quickly. He walked over and sat down in the empty chair while pulling his shades off.
"Hey there. So what is it you wanted to talk about?' He asked being pleasent but getting right to buisness.

With a smile Cliff placed his teacup back down on the table and with a movement of his right hand towards the empty teacup that lied upside down on the table Cliff offer, “Well it has been a while. I thought you had left the school. In any case would you want any tea?”

After he offer the tea Cliff picked up the teapot and poured some hot tea into his cup. Judging by the wait of the pot Cliff knew there was about one more cup left. Raising his left hand in the air to get one of the employees to notice Cliff motion towards the teapot informing them that he needed more tea.

Picking up his cup Cliff took a sip from his drink before he placed his cup down, “I always like the taste of Jasmine tea on days like this. What about you Jyo?”

Yeah Cliff knew he was making small talk, but before they really can get down to business they needed more tea and a warm drink to help make the conversation easier and more joyful. Cliff hates it when people are all business, and rather have things loosen up a little before he informed Jyo what has been happening.

"Well I had to go out of town and take care of a few things." he said and gave a nod in response to Cliff's question willing to wait for a few and have Cliff speak when he wanted to. Jyo took a sip of the tea.
"Well not my favorite but it's a very good choice for a drink." he said leaning back in his chair a bit more.

"Now I'm no expert but you seem a little diferent. Seems there's alot more on your mind right now. Seems as though some things have been going on since I left for a while." He said

With a light laugh Cliff then picked up his cup of tea and swirl it around in its cup a little. With a small grin of amusement Cliff then said in a lower tone, “Well, I don’t know how to explain it, but after our fight I got a bit curious about the kinds of people attending our new school.”

Finishing his cup of tea Cliff then placed it down on the table as he waited for the employees working there to finish preparing the new pot of tea. Now with an obvious grin of amusement, “Well as you can imagine I got a lot of interesting information, and to put it shortly this school seems to be much like how my last school was when I was a freshman.”

With a slight pause Cliff looked up into Jyo’s eyes and then said, “You know when the pillar system was introduce in the east coast. Ever since then the program has been slowly expanding westward until it finally arrived here. History seems to be repeating itself.”

[Jyo]

Jyo gave a small nod.
"Yeah I've already got a good idea about whats going on after talking to Asiv and the pillars. I'm not exactly thrilled with it to be honest. But it's not really my place to make bug changes." he said taking a sip of his tea.

He gave a small grin.
"So what is it you learned that got you interested in speaking with me. I didn't think I;de generate that much interest by this point in time." he said wondering why Cliff called him over. Which was the only reason he didn't let things get too much off topic.

Still grinning Cliff twirl his empty cup in place as he listen to Jyo’s reaction to what happen before adding, “Well you can say my research did not involve as much talking as your would. I start at the edge and slowly move inwards.”

As he said that the waitress came by with a new pot of tea. Looking up to her Cliff then said kindly while nodding, “Domo.”

Turning his attention to the teapot Cliff by the handle Cliff poured some fresh hot tea into his cup. As he did that Cliff then said to Jyo, “Rather we like it or not Jyo, we are on the top of the food chain. Right below us are the pillars, and then way below them is the rest of the student body. There is no one in the middle class of fighters. I am sure you can figure the problem when the incredibly strong are mixed together with the weak. Which brings us to the reason for my wanting you here.”

After he said that Cliff picked up his cup of tea with both hands and then started to drink his new hot tea.

[Jyo]

"I'm not so sure I would call us the top of the chain. You have never met the likes of Ichiro Kazahana. I never was able to land a single blow to him. And there have been others i've met who would take even our teachers down with a single blow." He said with a small smile thinking of Rair and some others he had faced. He gave a shrug.

"But I digress. I do understand the point you are making. I'm interested enough to hear what you have to say." he said.

Looking down at his teacup Cliff kept a straight face as he said in a light serious tone, “There may have been those like that in the past, but as of right now we are on the top. But enough of this debate, we can settle it later.”

Now placing both hands on the table Cliff said with a weary unsure grin, “Well when you where gone I finally got the nerve to start up and lead a new gang like one I was in a few years ago. But, this time instead of being second I became the one in charge, and…”

Trailing off for a few seconds Cliff then swallow hard as he said, “Well I don’t want to be two blunt, but I am going to need all the help I can get should I ever plan to close the power gap.”

[Jyo]

Jyo narrowed his eyes slightly at the mention of a gang. He never liked gangs. They brought nothing but trouble in his experiance not matter what the intentions of the gang was. Still he was willing ti listen to what Cliff had to say.
"If this is an invite I'm going to make it clear I don't join gangs or any faction for that matter." He said still being friendly.
"However I am still willing to listen to what you have to say." He said.

With a weak smile Cliff then replied to the earlier comment about gangs with, “Well yeah I can see where you are coming from and I don’t care for gangs that much, but no matter how much I try to phrase what I am doing, the common fact of the matter is that what I started is a gang.”

Swallowing hard before continuing, “But in order to rally the weak together I needed to start some kind of origination where a sense of community can be built.”

Pausing for a bit Cliff then shaking his head as her chuckle a little, “Well I am getting off track a bit. There is so much to say and yet so little time or places to say it. In any case the reason why I call you down here is because I want you to help me train the weak using your experience in hopes of making them strong. I alone cannot do this.”

[Jyo]

Jyo raised an eyebrow at Cliff's request.
"I'm not sure if my own experiance is really enough to give me the right to train others. I've never taught a lesson and I don't know if I would be able to teach others how or why to use the fighting skills they would learn. Nor do I think thats my place. I'm not sure why you think I would be a good trainer. I am in truth a rather one-track mind martial artist. Mabey a cut above most but nothing more than a fighter really." he said but sounded thoughtful.
"But I guess I could at least give some basics. It would really depend on what goals your gang actually has." Jyo said taking a sip of his tea.

Looking up at Jyo with that comment Cliff had a weary smile on his face as he hastily went to explain his goals to Joy, “Well Jyo, what people need to learn first are the basics to fighting, and a diverse range of experience no matter what the source would help these people.”

Turing his head down to the table Cliff clutched his right hand into a fist before he said almost shaking, “This culture, the culture that made us into what we are now hurts. It hurts a lot and the translation into it hurts even more. What I want is to help all those that are being force into this new culture and prepare them for what I know will come.”

Swallowing hard Cliff then added, “Jyo do understand what I am coming from? I don’t want history to repeat itself like it did some many times before.”

[Jyo]

Jyo looked thoughtful for a second.
"It seems you are just teaching the weaker students how to fight. No people or ideals to support? You mention you don't want history to repeat itself. It might help if I was enlightend as to what history you are reffering to." He said curious as to what might be spurring these actions from Cliff. it didn't seem the guy's style to randomly start some gang just for fights. But Jyo was always ready to accept he might be wrong.

With a smile Cliff then said, “You are sharp. As I said I don’t ant history to repeat itself, and at the same time all I am saying is I want to train the weak to fight. How can these two things possibly connected. Well by looking back at history you will see that history has been full of nothing, but the strong pushing the weak around. Why?”

Loosening his hands a little Cliff then continues, “Well the reason is because the weak do not know how to band together or for that matter fight for them. They all expect someone else to champion their cause rather it be a school captain, a pillar, or be it a radical gang leader bent on reform.”

Taking a deep breath Cliff allowed Jyo to absorb what he just said for a moment before he would continue on. Just smiling Cliff added a little more, “Like I said there is to say and not enough time, but in another sense my goal is simply to give people at this school control over their own lives.”
