EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Hells yeah to the weekend. It'd been a stressful enough week that this time to herself was desperately desired and even more so needed. Atop of the school being under attack, being ignored by Magnus, and struggling to see eye to eye with Emily, Violet was being driven wild with the amount of homework she'd been given. So much so that she needed a time out from life. Taking that commentary very seriously she'd pretty herself out for a time on the town; dressing in a deep-sea blue summer dress with matching blue two inch wedges she'd take to the town like a bat out of hell. Cheshire grin on her face she'd approach the day with no real plan and hopefully an escape from the worries that'd weighed her down over the past week. It'd eventually culminate not so much in the means that you'd expect turning away from the beach and stores that plastered the cityscape and instead drove her into a dark sidewalk designed video game arcade. These things were more or less unheard of for some time seeing as playstation and xbox had dominated the market but nothing quite beat an old 90's arcade game of time crisis. Pewpew. The girl would find herself juking, bobbing, and weaving through an imaginary forest that the game played out shooting down all kinds of opponents whilst onlookers gawked. Girl in an arcade? It was like a unicorn. "DIE DIE TERRORIST SCUM!"@arathornteros

The sun was slightly hot, but not overwhelmingly so. Therefore it wasn't that bad of a walk home. The only bad part about it was his exhaustion. It wouldn't have been that bad if he hadn't had run into that riot earlier today. Oh well. It was worth it. He hadn't fought something with his bare hands that could actually react to him (as opposed to a stationary target) since... well too long.
With his eyes gently looking down and wandering the sidewalk, his backpack being held by his right shoulder, his left hand in his pocket, Arathorn lazily paced down the sidewalk. Then, something curious brushed passed his ears, tickling his curiosity.
"DIE DIE TERRORIST SCUM!" was all he heard. Frankly, it caught him a little off guard, so much so that he stopped for a minute and looked up. One of his eyebrows slightly raised, hinting at a perplexed expression. Did that come from the arcade he had just stopped in front of? His eyes floated over to where he could see a flash of blue. Hm, he thought to himself. There's that blue hair again. Was it still the same girl he had seen in the riot, the pillar? Taking hardly half a step back, his vision of the inside of the building widened, and in turn confirmed that it was, indeed, the pillar. Playing.... a gun game.... Hm... He had never really played video games as a kid, and was never really interested. Although, he was interested in guns. Well, he supposed it was worth a shot (no pun intended). It would give him a chance to find out more about another pillar, too, hopefully.
Walking in, he looked over at the girl and at the crowd that seemed to be slightly bewildered at the sight of a female here. Truthfully, Arathorn found it odd that such a sight was abnormal, but no matter. Setting his back pack back behind a game (making sure it was out of sight just in case any pesky thief got any ideas), he gradually walked up behind Violet, and, after taking a second to watch her play, pulled a quarter from his pocket. Without making eye contact and keeping his eyes on the game, he simply asked "May I?" being sure to make it clear who he was addressing and what he referred to.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet was deeply invested in this game, she'd powered through the first five checkpoints with little issues and now the bosses were coming, that made her little NPC buddy in the secondary next to no chance as far as computing time to keep up with her mad blaster skills. Grinning wildly she moved to try and cover the player until she came down under fire; then she sound of company arrived.
"May I?"
At first her attention remained straight forward her eyes on the screen foot hitting the paddle to leap up and unload a round of machine-gun bullets into the rear end of a mechanoid vehicle before it cast its gaze on her spraying a canopy of live rounds her way. Duck. She'd release the peddle ducking down behind cover, this was her chance, flitting a gaze to the guy she'd offer up a genuine toothy smile. "Sure!" She'd take a moment still eyes refocusing from the bright screen to the dim lit room and seeing the guy fully. "Heyyyy I've seen you before." Her mind slow to catch up as to whether she'd gotten a name or place where she'd run into him but coming up blank.
A flash of red would go off warning her that she'd spent too much time under cover. "Shoot! No time, quick cover me!" Violet would say going from demure beauty to savage warlord in a second spreading a barrage of grenade rounds into this behemoth on screen.

Arathorn somewhat calmly (but also not slowly) put in a quarter and took hold of the gun. His face expressionless, Arathorn attempted to take a few shots at some enemies on the balcony behind the Mech trying to take her character out while distracted by the towering robot. Although, because of him being used to real life so much, he was absolutely horrible. Only 2 out of his 15 shots actually hit an enemy, and even when they did they weren't the enemy he was aiming at. However, realizing the how the sight was off, he adjusted his aim.
That's when it kicked in. In no time he had taken down every enemy (other than the mech) that appeared on the screen. Blam blam blam, headshot after headshot, dropping every body that introduced itself, his speed impressing the already shocked crowd, in addition to covering his companion by shooting any missile that headed towards her. Once he had taken care of all other hostiles, he began absolutely unloading on the Mech, still keeping Violet covered. The only possible thing that could screw him up at this point was a bullet or knife that flew at Violet or him that he couldn't shoot.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me She wasn't too keen on his position in the game, when Violet got tuned into something of this accord she was Rambo charging blindly at the nearest threat and handling it without prejudice. That being said however it was a slow realization that the amount of time she'd needed cover was decreasing as their game continued, rounds fired into the monstrous metal beast to a point she was down to only her unlimited pistol rounds and a small handful of buck shots from the shotgun. She'd have to conserve them wisely, however a cut scene would take them to a pier lined with tankers of something, an idle thought passed through Vi's head with a quick blurb and a salvo of rounds from her gun a second later. BANG!-GAME OVER- Her screen patterned with a red mist realizing that one of her stray bullets had careened into one such tank filled with explosives resulting in her blowing herself up. Damn friendly-fire always getting the best of her. Even with the countdown to reinsert quarters Violet would wait it out with a cool demeanor taking a long sigh and a deep breath turning to watch her compatriot complete his part of the match or if he'd fallen victim to her rounds as well. "Not bad newbie." Violet would say nudging him with her elbow only if he'd finished the round or died. "Thank's for having my back, would've been pinned back long ago if it weren't for you."@arathornteros

His character being right by her, his character took major damage, although not dead. Continuing to drop bodies, he was so focused on them he missed the fact that there was a bullet heading for him. And instead of reacting to it by taking cover (which was the more correct course of action) he, by habit, shot at the bullet, expecting it to fly out of the air. However, because this was indeed a game, it hit him, eating away what little health he had left. Of course, he was shown, as his companion was,
-GAME OVER-
After she nudged him, he just stood there, staring at the winding down timer, his expressionless face blinking a couple times before simply stating, "This game makes no sense. They need to sight it in more accurately, and they need to make it to where you can shoot bullets out of the air. This game just doesn't have any logic." His eyes didn't leave the screen, however.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would return a perplexed gaze taking his response as little more than gamer's rage considering the fact that he'd just died by a simplistic method rather than that of like a boss or even friendly fire. She found herself clutching her chest a bit and with the other hand covering her mouth to resist the urge of laughing hysterically. It wasn't as if she hadn't found herself in a similar situation herself ever was she the competitive sort just not in the sense that she'd blame the hardware for that matter.
"You can blame the 90's for that one," She'd give a boisterous laugh as the crowd behind them seemed to slowly depart and two youthful children chimed in to take their spots eager to shove the pair out of the way. "Not to worry, if you want to step your game up as far as consistency goes I suggest the Jurassic Park simulator. I hear it give some solid recoil." Violet would smirk with something of a challenging gaze ready to bolt at the go ahead.

In response to her laughter, one of Arathorn's eyebrows raised. What did she find so humorous?
It was odd, though. Her smile-
Suddenly his train of thought stopped in its tracks, distracted by something. What was that he just felt? He hadn't a clue. He hadn't felt that way since, well he couldn't even remember. Well, on second thought, he did remember. The last time he felt that was when those he loved smiled. His old friends, his close loved ones... Happiness. That's what it was. He had felt the ever so slight brush of happiness upon seeing her smile.
His thoughts were soon interrupted by her voice saying, "Not to worry, if you want to step your game up as far as consistency goes I suggest the Jurassic Park simulator. I hear it gives some solid recoil."
He proceeded to blink yet again, his face showing ever so slight signs of confusion. "Um... What is "Jurassic Park?" That doesn't sound gun-based."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me His response would only intensify Violet's sort of laughter, not so much at him thinking that his response was ultimately just some clever joke that the boy had offered in jest, she'd spurn forth newly invigorated to get to the gaming all the more so. "K'mon you." She'd dictate blindly grabbing his hand and sort of dragging him should the boy permit and pull him away from then light of day into the dark crevices of the arcade where Jurassic Park was held.
The game itself was a bit more intimate in the nature it was a 1x2 cube set to fit two people; one driver and one gunner they'd be propped into a all terrain jeep given a strict coarse to follow. Even still there were the sort of kids to take all roading to a new level there weren't those without limitations. Violet would jump into the driver's seat taking his previous comment to suggest that he was more the type to be drawn to the gunner's seat.
"I'm Violet by the way. And you... you've got shotgun. Keep them Trex's at bay kay?" She'd return with a colorful smile staring the engine of the game with a quarter and entering the daunting gates to Jurassic Park.

Following the girl without question at this point, Arathorn sat in the somewhat small space beside her.
"I'm Violet by the way. And you... you've got shotgun. Keep them Trex's at bay kay?" he heard her say.
"Um.. Alright." Arathorn stated calmly. As he watched their jeep kick into gear, he noticed his screen light up with T-Rex's, two to be exact. Caught off guard and somewhat bewildered, Arathorn just started spraying bullets, trying his hardest to aim but finding it pointless. There wasn't a sight on this gun at all, and even if there was, it was just another video game that was far from real life. His hands and arms shook along with the vibration being emitted in the gun he held, and after a butt-load of bullets from his machine gun to take out the two T-Rex's, soon they were being chased by a pack of velociraptors. As he continued to unload yet another mag, he semi-shouted (to be heard over the volume of the game), "These dinosaurs are taking an unrealistic amount of damage and bullets. It seems that headshots are no better than shots in the abdomen."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would go from careening and giggling to feeling the nervous tension in her passenger side seat, her peripheral vision queuing in to watch the boy take this game perhaps just a little bit too seriously. Slowly she'd change her disposition from giggling frenzied combatant to a grumpy gus. Frowning a bit she'd hunch over and focus a bit more intently into the game, not in the manner in which performance would improve however it became something more like the sort where she was distracted. Taking out civilians and buildings alike her driving would in turn become erratic.
"I think you're missing the point, its meant to be an escape from reality." Vi would mention a bit of levity to her voice trying to not let her good mood spoil.

As her focus on the game intensified, his decreased as it shifted towards her. He could see in her posture, the expression of her face, and the oh-so subtle hint in her voice when she spoke, that something was upsetting her. And based off what she said, he could guess what was so troubling.
However, his lack of attention combined with her erratic driving resulted in a T-rex having a rather delicious meal out of their character's corpses. Arathorn hardly noticed until a deep and bellowing voice shouted "GAME OVER" right in his ear practically. Looking around half-frantically from the surprise of the loud noise, he noticed a row of skee ball lanes to their right.
"Well," he began, "since you challenged me to this game, how about I challenge you to something else." Arathorn tapped her shoulder and gestured to an open skee ball lane. "In fact, I bet you the $5 in my pocket that I can win against you."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me She was transparent it would seem as the boy was quickly lending her the attention she'd unintentionally beckoned for, though her eyes remained burrowed into the screen as though at a loss as to how she'd been defeated in a simple driving test. That being said of course she still had yet to acquire her licence much less a car and perhaps for good reason with her recent results. Violet's attention remained unaltered until the essence of a bet was on the table. She'd grin with a rather glowing demeanor turning her body full pivot to face him her eyes dashing between the boy and the skee ball.
"You really think you stand a chance?" She'd glower with a statuesque appearance bringing herself to a prompt upright stand using her grip on the back of the seat to puff out her chest thinking it may intimidate him into quitting now. "Before I moved here I was Skee ball champion, I thought I'd spare this town my omnipotent power." Her eyes would close bringing about a pious sort of gloating all the more ready to win this game. "You're on!" Now things were getting fun.

Arathorn couldn't help but to grin ever so slightly. But with that grin came the perplexing thought Hm, haven't done that in a while.
Arathorn would get out of his seat calmly and start for the rows as she surely ran ahead of him, saying in a loud enough voice so that she could hear him all the way from the skee ball tables, "Well I'll also have you know that I was known in my old school for having quite the eagle eye when it comes to aiming." With his hands in his pockets he would stroll over to the tables as he let her go first, purposefully letting each other go at different times (even though there were other open lanes) so that they could see the other's performance.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Oooooo Eagle eyes, she'd make a slight mocking gesture towards him placing hand over hues to resemble more of an owl in turn rather than an eagle as she rolled off to the side of the skee ball game and quickly placed the small coins into place and letting her row of balls ring into place. There were maybe ten per a round and she'd make the best use of them as she could. Quickly assuming a serious position she'd kneel over and lash out the first of many to ring in her victory. Clank Clank. It'd pop up hitting the center barrier before bouncing off and hitting the outermost circle. 10 points. Okay rusty, yeah that was it. Rust wearing off she'd give it a second go and a third each placing her a total of 30 points. The next couple would give her some more 4-9 would accumulate her a total of 90 points. One final ball left, winding up like a softball players pitch this one would release into the top left corner. SLAM! 100! JACKPOT! "AHA! Beat that!"Her total coming to a 230 points. It wasn't particularly that good overall seeing as her average hit was at the twenty point level but that one hundred had scored her some serious points making up her seriously lacking wins. @arathornteros
