He rolled his eyes a little with the owl face she made. Although he wouldn't admit it to himself, he couldn't help but to have the slightest acknowledgement of her cuteness. As he watched her play, he just stood there, hands in his pockets, not even realizing the his usually emotionless expression had actually been slightly changed to a positive one, one with a little more light behind it.
As she verbally expressed her excitement in potential victory, Arathorn just raised an eyebrow. "Well done on that last shot, I must say," he encouraged as he handed her the relatively few tickets she'd scored: 23. As two quarters rolled in with a "TINK! TINK!" the game revved up and the balls came rolling down with a soft crash.
Taking a second to assess everything and aim, Arathorn rolled the first ball up there. "CLACK" it sounded as it hit about an inch from the 100 point hole, rolling down in a few arches until it finally fell into the 10 point hole. "Hm, alright," he thought outloud to himself. The next ball he rolled was similar, but this time actually hitting the protruding rim of the 100, causing it to, like the last, fall down into the 10 point hole. After grabbing the next ball, Arathorn hardly took anytime time before he swung his arm and released.
The ball rumbled as it ran down the land, clacked as it hit the ramp, and then rumbled again... as it fell right into the 100.
It was all over at that point; Arathorn had found it. One right after the other: 100, 100, 100; until finally, Arathorn reached down for the next, and there wasn't one. He had finished. The game blinked and made several celebratory bleeps and whirls. 82 tickets came flying out of the machine.
Picking his tickets from the machine as if picking a flower, Arathorn slowly just turned to face Violet, holding his trophy of a chain of tickets as tall as him, going from his head all the way down to the floor with 3 or 4 tickets laying on the ground completely. With just a hint of pride in his voice, Arathorn simply said, "Eagle eyes."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Hah gloating much. She'd laugh to herself but not give him the benefit of a victory and her accepting it. His presentation all the more flourished and gaudy then she would have liked and yet never settling for a defeat without a slight recourse. "Mulligan!" She'd call out referring to an informal term of play that would grant her another round. If he protested she'd simply respond with a different answer in succession. "Double or nothing!" Claiming a sense of pride at this point although she wondered if she had that kind of cash to be giving up after seeing him wallop her at this game.

At first, he was slightly perplexed at the mulligan term, but then as soon as she followed it with "Double or nothing," Arathorn simply nodded. "I accept." He rolled up his tickets and stuck them in his pocket, or rather stuffed them in his pocket. With a gesture of his hand he moved out of her way to allow her another attempt.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me The second game would go much like the former one however she'd achieved a net gain of some forty points atop her old score in the end Violet absconded herself to a state of eerie defeat. She'd sullenly move aside despite the previous energetic display to watch the boy perform perhaps masterfully at this game, herself feeling a bit bashful at this point having talked herself up a big game. All the same she'd end up paying out dishing up big time in the end, however it wouldn't be a total loss. This was the chance at a new friend.
"I didn't get your name." She'd pip up quietly leaning into him as he'd take his turn partially out of genuine curiosity and partially to throw him off his game. "I'm Violet, but feel free to call me Vi."

After insert the last coin he had in his pocket, an idea began to form in his head that he'd consider as he played.
As he held the first ball taking that second to aim, he heard her soft and quiet voice behind him. "I didn't get your name. I'm Violet, but feel free to call me Vi."
Hm, so his suspicions back at the ordeal of 260 were correct. That was rather assuring. On another note, he was hardly even fazed by her coming so close behind him. he was too in the zone at this point. And, now he had a goal and a reason to win...
After sending it down the lane and into the 100 casually, he'd reply to her, "Arathorn. I.. don't really have a nickname. So, you can come up with one if you'd like. The kids back at my old school called my eagle eye though, so, I guess that could work." Another ball went into the 100. And as she decided his nickname, he would continue his perfect scoring.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Arathorn, an odd enough name but that didn't mean she didn't like it was just nothing she'd ever heard before. Predicating over the name itself trying to draw it up from one of the books she'd read maybe a mythical creature or deviant ideal of a sci-fi nerd lost to the pages of time but she'd come up with nothing and idly started playing around with names in her head. The first thought of course with the context given was "Eddie" from that recent release broadcasting on all the television screens and movie theaters "Eddie the Eagle". She'd laugh to herself not drawing the slightest comparison between the actor and the young man standing here.
"Thorn, Ara, Wrath, Orn, Horn, Rathor, RRRRRRR" She'd concede to mockingly winking an eye shut and making a pirate stature whilst growing briskly. "I'm shot for ideas hows I just call you by your name. Although you'll have to forgive me if I mispronounce it." Violet would play his his name in her mouth probably botching it a number of times as she worked out the words and settled the name to a face in her memory bank.

Arathorn, bending down to pick his perfect 100 tickets out of the machine as if it was nothing, rose up to face her.
As he rolled up his recently won tickets, he began, "Actually, I forgot to mention it, honestly just because I often forget, but my name actually means Eagle. So, yeah. Honestly I think it'd be good if you called me Arathorn. Those who chose to title me Eagle Eye, well I wouldn't necessarily consider them my friends. On the other hand, however, it does seem that I've won. So, as my prize, I ask for no money, but only those tickets you hold in your hand." Arathorn just made a slight head bob gesture to the comparatively minuscule string of tickets she had.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would laugh at his explanation enraptured really by the way in which he spoke, she was the type of person that picked up on little details in people's speech perhaps eluding to something or another.
"Implying you have a lot of enemies, wait you don't have enemies do you?!" Violet would perk up a bit of energy flushing through her system now however her situation didn't take to be concerned about these enemies merely laughing at the fact that he mentioned that bit about his not-so-friends giving him the nickname. "Well I can imagine you might if you beat them all at skee ball, a great many egos battered." Again laughing harder as she forked over the small handful of tickets to the boy not begrudging the exchange at all. She would have happily paid up it was a deal after all.

Chuckling to her comment about enemies, he simply replied, "Not enemies necessarily. It is possible to know someone who is neither friend nor foe."Once she handed them over, Arathorn took the tickets and rolled them up into his other two strands. "Thank you, Miss Vi. Now I'd like to ask you a simple question: Would you rather have a bear, a cat, or a dog? Not as legitimate pets, but just figuratively, which one would be your favorite?" Arathorn asked with a monotone voice, looking into her blue eyes. ( Violet Lockheart)

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Vi would grin innocently. He had a good enough response even if in Vi's own personal life she tried to accumulate as many friends as humanly possible. In fact it was quite a task she'd undergone going from knowing no one and nothing outside her own family group to a large handful of people she could safely call friends seeking to further that strong bond. But to each their own, Vi saw fit to make a school where everyone had each other's back, naive perhaps but it was her duty.
Arathorn mentioned those animals and her eyes started watering. She loved animals! The clarification was in fact initially lost on her as she delved into a glazed over look of massive energy overflowing from her aura. She wasn't necessarily a cat person, sure she liked them enough but they were often little shits. Bears were awesome, she dreamed of one day riding one into combat but strictly they were too much of a hassle to deal with namely their poop and besides when she already had one hungry mouth to feed she worried about the extreme battle it'd take to fight for scraps with a bear. A dog however was in fact her spirit animal.
"OOOOO A PUPPY!" it wasn't necessarily a description of age for the dog she just saw fit to call all dog's puppies as they were sweet little things in her eyes. Vi would say this indeed breaking his personal space bubble and attempting to grapple his arm with desperation really not thinking about her actions.

Arathorn was caught quite off guard by how close she got, but still an expressionless face as he just looked at her hand on his arm. That was only on the surface though. Underneath the seemingly unfazed nature of the boy his heart was beating a million miles per second, half scared and half curious on what she was about to do or if she was about to do anything at all.
But regardless he mentally shook those thoughts out of his head, and he actually came out with a chuckle at the girl and told her, "Well then follow me," still looking into her eyes. With that he turned around and started towards the ticket shop. He didn't really care if she had let go of his arm at this point. If she didn't it would help her follow. If not, he decided she was kind of the curious sort, and especially now that he got her extremely curious by getting her mind wondering about puppies, so without a doubt she would follow out of the amount of sheer curiosity.
It was still kind of odd to him. The fact that he was smiling. Occasionally laughing, even. He hadn't done it in so long. Not uncontrollably, anyway. He had forced a smile or a chuckle to please people, but this time was different. She made him smile. Which is why he would do what he was about to do.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would retain her grip on him feeling his heart all a flutter, although in misconception she'd probably chalk that one up to her own heart dancing. She'd never really had a puppy, having been excluded to a hospital for a good portion of her life she'd been refused any sort of pets to keep as companions even cute lifeless dolls were just another excuse for mother to complain about the hairy germ spreaders. She'd glower nonetheless as memories played against her mind and followed in step with Arathorn awaiting what the boy had in mind, Vi truly loved surprises.

Before they arrived at the destination, Arathorn stopped as he had an idea. He paused for a second to think, and then turned to her.
"Okay, I hope you trust me. Stay here, and close your eyes, okay?" softly, he guided her arm to where her hand covered her eyes, but as always he kept his voice in a monotone, emotionless state. "I'll be back."
Trusting her with the task, he went to the ticket shop, and, using 200 tickets out of 205, bought a blue puppy keychain, something she could keep on her backpack, he assumed. Once he returned, he calmly said, "Alright, you can open them now." Once she did, he told her "I figured blue was kind of your thing."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Vi wasn't really sure if she did, she really just met the boy but all things considered he'd seemed nice enough. His tough exterior clearly exfoliating and brimming a rather fine smile as far as she was concerned. So for the time being she'd live up to her overly trusting personality and play along letting him guide her hands to cover her vision. She'd linger here trusting his judgement somehow complacent to the lingering noise of their surroundings. They weren't too far away from the ticket booth so there really was no reason to be concerned about her whereabouts much less where he was off to just now after a start like that but even still a chill ran up her spine in his absence. "Funny. You look almost happy..." Vi would gasp hearing the voice not sure where it had come from, the noise surrounding her had been almost deafening to the point that it had to be either directly in her ear or in her head. She could feel long tendrils play around her throat and then loosen to raid through her hair, frightened to the point of frigidity she didn't budge not even making to open her eyes. "That's what I'll take first..." She could feel tears fighting their way behind her eyes, her smile almost vanishing from place as she fought the paralysis before Arathorn returned to her happy as ever. As he approached he'd be the only one to see the figure vanish like mist over a sea. Violet would quickly and impulsively release her eyes letting them see once again however missing the person entirely, she'd fall into a large grasping hug around Arathorn for safety. She'd have fought back the tears but was still notably shaking down to her core. Eyes glancing over the gift and she'd turn vision back up to him and look truly grateful. "Thank you, I love it." grappling at the key-chain and playing with it idly before letting a set of tears fall from her eyes quick to wipe them away in silence. It was truly a kind gift that she'd treasure. @arathornteros

Wait.. what was that? He thought to himself as he realized what he saw. But as soon as his mind began to think on what it was, she hugged him. Yet again, his heart began to race, his eyes went a little wider than usual, and he looked down.
The words she said next were all he could ever hope for, and the sincerity in her eyes was more than gladdening. "I'm, sorry that I couldn't get you a real one. We'll just say that I owe you one." With the sight of a wiped tear, Arathorn couldn't help himself. "Are you okay?" Although it didn't seem he cared that much, his hands in his pockets, his posture close to perfectly straight, and his voice not really showing any sign of sentiment, but his heart was overflowing with compassion, the only expression of this being deep within his eyes.
