I sat in the cafeteria, eating my binto box, in utter silence. My thought all surrounded Krane and Violet. What was my problem? Why couldn't I just like guys like every other normal girl? But, regarding Krane, he was... different than normal guys as well. Why did I have to be so strange? I mean, sure he was cute, sure he fought well, sure he had this way of being so awesome that it made me want to sigh and do that... Girly thing. However, he was odd. Rather odd at that. He had a way of speaking that made it seem like he wasn't from here, then again, neither was i. He had a way of fighting that made him frightening to watch. His hits were so precise, his intent so pure... I didn't know whether to adore him or fear him. I sighed again and looked back at my Binto box. I had barely touched it. I picked up my chop sticks again and, grabbing a piece of sushi, dipped it a few times in my soy and wasabi sauce mix. After the bottom was browned i put it in my mouth and chewed slowly, letting the heat fill my mouth. Krane Asiv

Krane wandered through the cafeteria holding a trey toppling with food. Fruits, meat, random sand which type ingredients just not put together. Balancing it in one hand as he walked, while texting with his other hand, well reading. He seemed to be scowling at his phone if nothing else. However he looked up to make sure hie path was clear, until he saw a friend of his, Melanie. He was sure she was his best friend as she spoke with concern towards him which was a sign of deep friendship. Or so one of his text messages told him.
He would make his way over and place his trey down, thinking back to how to greet such a lovely lady.
"Sup, bitch."
It was like second nature... Or first, so smooth, like silk. Krane would even play it up with a smile that would seem genuine and a wave that said 'I practiced in front of the mirror every day since I was but a boy so as to appear like a normal human.'

I looked up to see Krane of all people sitting down to lunch with me. My heart skipped a beat and i quickly looked back down at my plate to swallow my food. I was sure that if i looked at him and tried to swallow, i'd end up choking or some shit like that.
I looked back up about to say something like 'Hey, what's up' or 'Hello man i have thought about alone in my room at night.' I opened my mouth to say something, but then he said hello first. Or rather, he called me a bitch. I blinked at him. I knew when we had first met i was kind of a bitch, but that was no reason to behave like this now. I had protected him while he was downed in the battle field. I didn't have to... I looked back up at him with a slight fire burning in my eyes.
"Do you think it appropriate to call someone who helped you out a Bitch? That may be cool wherever you are from but where I come from, it's just rude."
The fact that his smile and wave were so similar to a robot he could put Bicentennial Man to shame, just made it worse. It was almost like he was mockingly telling me i was below him. The audacity.

Krane stared confused at the reaction, or possibly just the statement. He'd use both hands now to rapidly text on his phone staring intently for a few seconds before it would vibrate. Nodding as if understanding he would put the phone away.
"I seem to have stepped outside the boundaries of where I believed our relationship to be. Forgive me, I shall buy you flowers and assorted sweets."
Krane would reach to grab Melanie's hand and lightly kiss it.
"It was simply my intention to show our deep connection with a jest."

I was about to cover him with the rest of my plate when he began furiously texting. He was about to seriously get it. Then right before i was about to stand up, he told me he would but me flowers and... sweets. My cheeks began to slightly flush and i began to blabber something in the form of a thank you. That was, until he reached out and took my hand and then kissed it. My face was the absolute color of a tomato, i could guarantee it. Wait, did he say deep connection?
"Deep... Connection?"
It was all i could make out. I hoped he meant what i thought he meant. I was at a complete loss for words.

"Of course, the concern in your actions and words, the over whelming protective instinct and personal nature of our interactions. It can only mean a deep connection."
Krane sat down holding her hand and looking into her eyes with his... Eye... Er. Anyways he nod and put the hands down and turn to devour his plate of sustenance.

My blush deepened if at all possible at his perfect diagnosis of me. He knew. How long had he known? How did he feel about me? What would he do with knowing i knew? There were too many questions i needed answered. His eye boring into mine was just... too romantic. He was super sweet. Almost like he knew. Then, just like that, he dropped my hand and began eating his plate. I blinked a few times before returning my attention back to my plate. The guy sure switched from one thing to another quickly enough. I glanced back up at him with another piece of sushi on my chop sticks.
"I suppose you are right."

Kran would finish chewing, swallow then turn to look at Melanie, he had to turn cause his blind eye was on her side.
"So what do you like to do for fun?"
He would then turn back to his food to continue the consumption process.

I finished chewing and looked back over at Krane. Fun?
"Well, I normally like to tend to my garden. My father was a botanist. I grew up raising plants with him."
I looked back at my food, my eyes boring onto the rice.

Krane nodded he actually knew of this subject.
"One of my uncles is a botanist. He grows all sorts of odd plants."
He was surprised to actually be knowledgeable in a normal subject it seemed.
"Me and my brother play video games to pass the time."

I smiled. So he wasn't normal there. I liked that.
"Video games? What kinds?"
I knew of a few of them but i didn't really have time to play. I was normally busy with my garden.

Krane would try to chew and swallow before answering and ended up choking a bit and coughing two or three times.
"Fighting, or Role Playing."
He'd squeeze out between teary eyes after the pressure in hsi chest from not chewing enough went away. Continue life force refueling.

I watched him cough. I didn't know what to do. I raised my hand and lightly patted his back. Why did people do that? It didn't seem like it helped much. After he answered, I smiled again. Typical.
"I can't really say what games i like. I don't play them much. Plants are my thing. Hence my choice in weaponry."

"My mom would like you. She is really into plants. One time when one of my uncles forgot where she had planted some flowers and walked all over the flower bed, she took his spear and electrocuted him. My brother says it was one of the funniest things he has ever seen."
He would say with little interest himself, more stating facts than a funny story.

I smiled as he spoke of his family. Then, my eyes widened as he said his mother shocked someone because they had stepped on her flowers. I would have been angry, sure. But i don't think I would have shocked them. I looked back down at my plate then back to him.
"Well, at least she cares about plants."
There is a bright side to every story. Sometimes you just have to look harder.
