What is qi? (Asiv)

Akihitosan made his way out of his room and to the courtyard his room window overlooked. There was a small zen garden seemingly untouched in a corner. Several students seemed to like to leave it alone. There were a few statues there, assume sly to protect it and/or the people there to pray. Akihitosan overheard some students talking about something they called qi. Apparently some students had it while others remained normal.
Alihitosan just wanted to find out what it was all about. Something about it seemed too surreal not to at least meditate on. He say down on the grassy nole next to the water and gazed into it for a moment. Closing his eyes and crossing his legs, he relaxed and began to meditate on his spirit.
Clearing his mind, he relaxed into the calm waters of his empty thoughts and let his spirit guide him. This was the part he didn't really know too much about. The part where meditation could teach you plenty. His mind was buzzing far too much to allow anything to come out but pure and unadulterated chaos. After all what was he supposed to see or think of? Was there supposed to be a light he was supposed to follow? Or maybe a wise old mans voice would boom from the far reached of his mind? He chuckle a bit as he imagined Yoda coming to speak to him.

He would hear a voice. A rugged voice of an older man speaking to him. Possibly a wise sage to lead him on a journey of discovery and understanding to become the greatest master of Qi to have ever walked the earth.

"Hey, dumbass."

Or it was the Supervisor of 259 on a smoke break giving Takumi a hard time.

"That's a good way to get robbed."

Takumi looked up, his mouth hung open slightly as if he had heard the heavens open up and a light shown on him. Until he heard the rest... He quickly closed his mouth, jumped to his feet and readied himself.
Upon realizing who it was behind him, he relaxed into his normal aloof pose and bowed his top half slightly. As if he'd be so lucky to hear something in this particular meditation. There was just too much going on right now.

"Ohiyo gozai masu, Asiv-sama. How are you this morning? I know it's silly to sit here facing the wall, but... I uhm... It's silly. Don't worry about it."

Takumi put up a hand and waived off he conversation before re-lifting his hand to rest on the hilt of his... Right. Not in japan anymore. Can't carry that here. Not in scho at least.

Asia would light his cigarette taking a long drag before waving off Takumi's formalities as he puffed out the fog of death. Listening to the kid half embarrassed at what he was doing Asia would nod.

"Looked like you were meditating. Or doing drugs, or looking at porn. Either way, share."

Takumi's ears would redden and he would look at the ground. Before pulling his gaze back up to meet the teacher's.

"Well, as it stands, sensei, I was meditating... On qi."

He would fumble through words, spilling them quickly as he was nervous about being caught. In his rush a few of the sentences weren't all English.

"I heard a few students talking about it, and watashi wa shitakatta learn more about it. I thought watashi ga mitsukerudarou meiso Suru koto de something I could mentally hold on to. Perhaps I could do something more than... Punch things with my fists."

At long last, he slowed down and was able to maintain fully English sentences. He looked away from the supervisor and back at the water. A slow breeze pulled ripples over the water.

"I just want there to be more to me that violence. I can't tell Leon because he loves it so much. I could never betray him like that."

Taking a drag from the cig he listened to the kid ramble off his excuses. Shaking his head before speaking.

"Well Leon has taught quite a few people how to use Qi."

Asia would walk over to the pond reach in and pull out a rock, scratching a part of it revealed a tab. Unfolding it would have a long tapestry of a bunch of the high school girls from 259 in their underwear on it. Asia would flip it over showing the signatures of many students who went to the school a long time ago.

"You'd be surprised what's under the surface."

Asia would fold it down back into the rock and toss it back in the pond. Turning to Takumi Asiv would smile.

"Sadly Qi isn't easy to figure out. There is the slow way which may never happen. Then the fast way which you probably won't like."

What was it about this teacher that made Takumi want to tell him so much? WhT was it that made him so reliable? Was it just because he was a teacher? No, it had to be something more, something on the inside perhaps?

Takumi listened and waited to hear all he had to say. When he pulled the film out of he rock and showed it to Takumi, he turned away and blushed slightly. Sure he wanted to see the girls, but that was disrespectful on so many levels! Once he finished, Takumi thought over what he had told him before finally answering slowly.

"I presume the not so fun way would be how Leon teaches then. How did you come by yours, if I may ask."

Aim would take another drag from his cigarette and hold the smoke in for some time while he contemplated answering Takumi. Letting it seep out as he spoke.

"A mix of the not so fun way and drugs."

Why not say it. It had been about ten years since it happened and the newer drugs were much better so it wasn't as dangerous as when he did it.

"So da ne..."

Takumi mused. In his mind he saw mr Asiv with a joint getting hit with several big sticks by Leon. That didn't seem quite right. Takumi shook his head ans refocused eye contact with Asiv.

"Drugs, huh. Like joints or like that punk I took out in the kiddie park?"

[Zack Asiv]

"Probably like the guy from the park, however none of that was by choice."

Asiv threw that in just to be sure, taking a drag from his cigarette.

"If you want the classical version I can give you a book on some research into Qi. The book was translated thirty years ago from scrolls that are almost fifteen hundred years old. The translator even had some side notes."

Asiv would chuckle.

"Other than that, all I can tell you is looking for it without a need for it, is like trying to teach a professional basketball player to play soccer and expect him not to use his hands."

Takumi listened and looked back to the water as another ripple eased over it. Why did life always have to be so serious?

"So, what do I have to do to need it?"

Takumi chuckled lightly.

Asiv closed his eyes for a minute and thought on how to properly explain it.

"For most people they discover the need in a moment of terror, or extreme stress. Filling a hole that was there while your life or the lives of someone important to you are threatened."

Letting that sit Asiv would explain the other way.

"For others it's like an awakening, knowing a situation on the horizon, a completely impossible hurdle to overcome. Training for it grows useless, and then becomes deaperate. Through that desperation a block is moved and it reveals itself."

Takumi's thoughts strayed to Kyoko. She had died and he couldn't save her. There was nothing he could do. Why couldn't... Why didn't he have a Qi that could have saved her? Could he still save her? Was it possible?

"Well, whatever it takes. I want it. I have to..."

His voice trailed off. He turned his back to Asiv and dropped his head to the pool. When he spoke it was but a whisper.

"She deserves to be saved. I have to try."

Asiv was not just waiting for Takumi's answer, he had been building Qi in his right hand, as his fingers cracked into position as a claw, soon a small light at each finger and some smoke would be visible.

"I thought you'd say that."

Zack turned quickly rushing Takumi at full speed and power driving his claw into his gut injecting the mass of Qi into his body, letting the red haired male drop to the ground. Takumi would be feeling an incredible amount of pain, as if every muscle in his body had just seized up and began to cramp, spasm, then rip. His blood would be on fire, and he would find he didn't have full control over his own body.

"Now, I injected you with a mass of my energy, it's infecting you as we speak, and soon it will kill you. Unless you can awaken your Qi nd use it to fight off that energy. The pain will get worse, until your body literally begins to break it's own bones, your blood vessels pop, and you internally turn to mush."

Takumi crumpled to the ground as Asiv's gist came at his midsection. The pain was more than unbearable. Intolerable. Unreal.

He screamed at the pain several times, often squirming to try and leave the pain where he was and move away from it. Unintelligible cursings were thrown at Asiv as he tore at his chest.

At long last, Takumi sought to fight back. Still unable to move himself from the ground, and yearning for protection from the pain, he raised his hand toward Asiv.

"Get away from me!!!"

A reshot sensation emerged from deep within his chest and shot through his arm toward Asiv.
