[Kyrie Blaze]

A quiet cup of tea. Her daughter snoozing in her room. Musical notes - whose strains were a quiet, looped first movement of Moonlight Sonata - seemed to waft through the air, the blonde's keen hearing picking them up even with the volume set so low. Her feet lifted to rest, at ease, upon the chaise in her small den. There were boxes, still, as she had to decide to either move once again, or simply settle here, after everything that had transpired.

For now, however, she had to address the stack of envelopes that had grown in the past couple weeks.

Starting at the top and working her way down, she sorted statements, bills, appointment date notices, miscellaneous mail, and other odds and ends, and came to one of the thicker pieces of registered mail she'd received the day before moving into this apartment in particular. The blonde hadn't thought much of it but now she slowly cracked the seal, wondering at it.

LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT SUMMONS

Mis Kyrie Elysia Barrial, you are hereby summoned to appear in the Los Angeles Superior Court on the 30th day of November, 2016, in regards to the custody of Aurelia Dawn Barrial by Mister and Missus Robert and Elaine Stark. Enclosed is...

Kyrie's eyes blurred as her heart fell from her chest to her stomach. It wasn't over. It didn't matter. Now it wasn't Robert, but, his parents. The blonde took a deep breath and continued reading. Included with the Summons was an Injunction and, of course, the Complaint. They were pressing for full custody. Lump in her throat, which was closing quite quickly, considering the date to respond was a mere two days away, the blonde stood and set the papers down.

Like a ghost, she moved to the doorway of Aurelia's room and sipped her lukewarm tea while her eyes stung and her throat remained closed. Her heart felt like lead; it had an agonizing, slow thump-thud that made her feel ill.

Her next step was to get in touch with her lawyer, but, for now she couldn't bear to move away from the door and her sleeping daughter. Her little girl was her whole world.

There would be a knock at the door, an indiscriminate amount of time later, and then Kyrie's front door opened.

"Kyrie..?" Arianna quietly called out, figuring her younger sister would be awake, judging by the lights on and the stack of mail she could see. She looked towards the kitchen, first, then down the hall. There was no sound of running water, so--ah!

Despite being worn and exhausted - but very much fulfilled - she was alert enough.

"Damien isn't here..?"

She took her coat off and added it to the closet, her purse looped over the hook. It was small enough, light enough.

The knock and creak of the door caused the most minute of reactions. It wasn't Damien, but Arianna, she knew. Her blue eyes roved back to Aurelia's sleeping form. Her tea was gone and done, and she knew she needed to get in touch with her lawyer. Kyrie sighed and turned back, padding silently down the hall towards her other sister.

"Not right now. He has some things to see to..." She didn't bother mentioning the letter. Arianna was in-tune enough with her moods and tone that she'd be able to tell something was up. Briefly, the tiny blonde moved by to set the kettle on to boil once more, and then moved to pick up her cell, and the letters and documents she received. "...Robert's parents are pursuing custody over Aurelia..."

She adjusted things and set away the rest of the mail before moving to sit down with a heavy sigh.

Arianna's phone started ringing.

"What—?" She reached out and scanned the papers, frowning enough that her brow crinkled and creased.

The ringing of her cell caused her to start a bit. She didn't immediately look at it, already figuring it was David's hospital. "Call Armand after you're off the phone with the family lawyer. Have them work together."

She lifted her cellphone, not bothering to check: "Good evening, Doctor Arianna Barrial speaking."

[David B.]

"Hey, It's David."

The elder Blaze was at the office, finishing up some paperwork and getting ready to head out.

"You with Kiyr?"

Kyrie let her take them, and pulled up the number she needed in her phone. She sudden noise caused her to blink and hope it didn't wake Aurelia. She nodded quietly at her sister's words,

Letting her answer her own call, Kyrie hit the button on her phone and stood to move back into her kitchen, scooping up the papers she needed as she listened to the buzz that signalled the line on the other side was ringing. And then—an answer.

"Edward, sorry for calling so late. I just received notice that my ex-in-laws are trying to claim custody of Aurelia. Everything has been so busy with the move and the other complications I had not realized it was amidst my mail. The court requires the response in two days."

She fell silent, listening and nodding a little. Her shoulders had caved a bit as she walked, but she took a deep breath and forcibly straightened.

"Oh—hello." Not what or who she was expecting. "Yes. Is everything okay..?"

[David B.]

"Yeah, everything's fine. I haven't been able to reach Damien so I figured I'd call you and see if you were there or had heard from them. I don't actually have Kyrie's number so...."

He would pick up his check book and stick it in his pocket.

"You guys mind if I drop by?"

He started for the door.

[Arianna Barrial]

"Odd... But, Kyrie had mentioned he had some things to see to? ...I...uh, do not see why not. Kyrie's just on the phone, but, I assume it is fine. Aurelia is sleeping. See you in a few minutes, then."

Provided David cut the call, there, she would dial Armand, figuring it best to get all this out of the way, quickly.

Kyrie may not want David knowing.

[David B.]

"Ah. Alright. Cool, on my way."

He'd stand and head out the door onto his balcony, lifting himself up and flying off! in about three minutes, he landed on the sidewalk leading up to the door, using fingers to put his hair back in place, coming the hairs. He'd move up to the door and knock, waiting patiently.

"Alright, Armand, see you tomorrow morning." With a few blinks at the buzz, Arianna quickly checked to see before pressing the button that would allow David entrance.

She glanced over at Kyrie and nodded. "David is here."

And then pressed the button to unlock the door and grant the man entrance.

Kyrie's gaze flicked to Arianna at the movement...and she nodded.

"I will email them to you right now. Arianna was also speaking with Armand; I would think it best if you were to work together. Does that sound fair?" She waited and nodded. "Thank you again. I really appreciate this."

She quickly snapped photographs of the documents and tucked them all back into the envelope, and moved to sit on the couch again, quickly tapping out the email and attaching the files.

"Emailing who to what now?"

He walked in, undoing the button on the front of his jacket and then putting both hands in his pockets.

"Sorry- forever an evesdropper, I guess."

She seemed stressed....

Kyrie blinked and sighed, hitting the send button before looking up at David.

"A few documents to my lawyer, actually." She seemed to pause a moment before the tint of worry came into her gaze. "Did something happen?"
