Desert of Sun and Fire! (Squad Training)

Name: Squad Training
Requirements: Assigned a Squad
Job: It's time to get the squad together and hash out our problems. Be they in the field or with each other personally.
Bonus: Fight each other, discuss problems, and grow together or apart.
Payout: +5 exp, +$250

John would enter the Desert simulated region of the training field, tossing his hammer into the ground where the sand would shift into solid brick around it. He'd take his jacket off and toss it to the side as well. If this got too hot and clothes were destroyed he would at least want something that would last. Clothes he made with his hammer never really seemed to last that long. He would wait for Rhona to show up.

[Rhona Hall]

She carried a small bag that was tossed over her shoulder across the sandy dunes created in the training simulations. She finally spotted John and started to take off her shoes to stick them in a mesh side pocket. No socks to care for, the ground was loose and she thought bare feet and the toes in the sand might be better. Inside the bag carried spare clothes as well a pair of shorts and a shirt. Simple and clean It was hazard enough that she was able to burn off her own clothes if she went all out but she was actually going to get attacked with similar heat. Fighting fire with fire seemed likely the way this was going to go.

She didn't bring her usual jacket or much else. Since this was but training she wanted this to be raw and see where her own strength would hold. "Yo! Good thing you got time open for this. It would have sucked to head right into battle without knowing what we both got in our pack pockets."

[John]

"Would of been troublesome to say the least I suspect."

He'd say with a shrug, his cocky grin sticking to whatever the rest of his face did no matter what. He'd roll a shoulder and wait to see if she needed to warm up, if not he'd hold his hands to his sides, both arms would ignite into flames from his biceps down to the tips of his fingers.

"Let's get this started then!"

He'd shove both hands towards her and a cyclone of fire would burst forward. John's eyes glowing red as he watched the flow of the appropriate flammable molecules in the air. Injecting Qi into those molecules he could literally set the air on fire.



Flame Thrower: John can fire a vortex of flames from his hands adding half his energy stat to his energy stat..

[Rhona Hall]

She went wide-eyed and let go of her bag almost immediately to throw her arms up and block the flash of fire. No she wasn't ready and that was hardly waiting to see if she wanted to stretch her legs or loosen her shoulders or anything but alrighty then the game was afoot. Even if the hair on her arms was burned off and bits of her shirt were also a bit toasty. Once the fire dissipated she looked over her arms with a look of annoyance before rolling her eyes at him.

"Oooi..." When her hands dropped she cracked her neck with a quick jerk to both sides before getting low and shoved her self from there to get a jump on her attack. She still hung low in her sprint as her arms from the elbows up started to glow and in their radiance, a large amount of heat was added to them. The left hook came forward to slam his into his gut, and once it connected she rose from her low stance and brought her palm up as if she as going to slam it into his chin. But feint it to point blank flash her powers into his eyes. She felt this was a way he wouldn't be able to miss it. Knowing her power he might have thought to be prepared for it. She didn't want to give him that chance.

He shifted as she charged getting ready to blast her again with the fire when she struck slamming a palm harshly into his gut. Causing him to fold and double over with wide watery eyes. Saliva and air evacuating as the shirt around his stomach singed a hole. The flash however came in and caught him in the eyes, as he stumbled backwards holding his gut. Now he was seeing spots and in pain.

She took the opening and stopped her power flow from her arms. While quickly grabbing his arm, twist it in a strong and painful hold behind his back and a foot in the back of his knees to bring him down to her level more. Likely the next thing he could gather after being blind was that it felt like his arm was about to break. He had his other hand free and that was fine she could see him well enough that if he moved she'd likely pop his shoulder out of place... she can put it back later... probably.

It almost seemed too easy...

As his arm was grabbed he went into instinct mode and injected his Qi into every surrounding inch of air around him. Causing a whirling dome of fire to explode around him. Likely either engulfing Rhona if she didn't let go, but with his other hand would fire his Flamethrower into it to turn it into an attack instead of a defense exploding outward slightly from his body.


Flame Dome: John creates a large dome of fire around himself acting as a shield Adding 1/2 his Energy stat to his Defense

[Rhona Hall]

He erupted in flames and she could feel them even handle them alright but then there was more to it. After the flamethrower, she kind of lost the ability to see through it all and decided to give him a hard kick in the back to send his face into the sand and shove off a couple of feet backward. It didn't burn horribly but the smell of burning hair was coming from her own. She huffed and used a hand to wipe away the smoke from the air and pat the embers of the edges of her shorts of her.

"That was kind of neat. You got more you can do with that ability of yours. Mine suddenly feels pretty limited." She'll give him that but while he used a lot of "Firepower" it seems his hand to hand as lacking, being able to withstand that heat she'd already predict it was hardly a problem getting close and do some physical damage.

[John]

John would land face first into the sand, but roll trying to carry the momentum best he could. Getting up and rolling his shoulder to get the pain done and over with.

"The training and experience I've gotten with Qi is different from most. Though it seems it still can't carry the fight on its own. Disappointing..."

He'd shake his head at his own lack of power, though not surprised.

[Rhona Hall]

"No joke there it seems like your focus on Qi is good but what happens if someone comes within your range yeah that Dome was awesome... but I can take it." Simple as that she really could take it He needed something else in order to make sure people that got really close he could either give them pain or gain the distance back and retaliate. Otherwise Rhona was going to be a shield and he was going to be a sword. "I can teach you somethings close range."

[John]

John would nod.

"Generally I fall back to my Muay Thai... Though to be honest I under estimated you and didn't think you'd make it through my first attack."

He'd shrug again.

"The old man keeps saying I should always give it my all."

[Rhona Hall]

She scoffed at him. "Listen to him on that part for sure and always. Make it so they dont have a chance to win. But if they get that chance make sure you are also ready for it." she'd grin. "I didn't see a lick of Muay Tai. Come at me with just that then and lets see how much you know." she got in a stance. Her usual bouncing would not be good in the loose sand.

[John]

John's hands would go up like a boxer, except the fists would be turned more towards Rhona, and his right foot would go forward a bit, bouncing on the toes. His upper body would lean back and hunch down a bit to get inside his cage. Taking a moment to get comfy in the position he'd rush for Rhona throwing a swift left jab for her face, to set things in motion at the very least.

With her hands close to her chest in her stance she saw him coming no problem and raised one of her arms to block his punch wrap an arm around it and tuck it under her own. With a loud kiai she'd bringing up a knee to connect with his ribs still leaving her other fist free while she prepared for what ever came. If he felt the kick she'd let him go but if he stood hia ground she'd hold the arm to keep their close proximity.

John's arm would be wrapped by Rhona however with his Muay Thai training from the most basic point of the clench she connected herself and her weight to him. The shift and tug in body weight was just too obvious in a knee strike.

John would lean back tugging with the arm she had in her hold with everything he had to pull her off the one leg she was standing on and any leverage she may have had before throwing his own left knee strike. Since she was holding his left arm his knee would be aimed for the soft exposed abdomen just over her pelvic bone.

If that worked he'd throw a downward right punch for her face which would be best as he dropped his knee. His leg dropping would add coiled muscular momentum to the punch.
