I've Got This... (Leon/Mission)

[Leon]

Alex would look at it, kind of... perturbed by the realization of there being a tree like that.

"Could be the effect of the abundance of Qi..."

However she was right they needed back up. However Joy's Radio would come alive.

"Hellooooo~, Miss Blake are you there?"

[Bailey Oleander]

At least she wasn't alone on that. Bailey eyed the tree for a moment, then decided to use her boots of wonder to climb up the tree!

Only to be stopped by someone's voice call out to her in a coy manner from the radio in a way that would normally have her stop dead in her tracks like a dear in headlights. She stopped and motioned to their escort to hand her the radio.

"This is Bailey."

[Leon]

He would hand over the radio giving an odd look to both it and her.

"Ohhhhh~ Yay! This is special dispatch report from Cabal. Leon says he is sending a regional expert on Qi Engines and crystals! They just need to know your location."

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey shakes her head and gives the soldier a look that says she knows nothing about this person radioing in. She stares at the radio with the message relayed, brows knitting in confusion. Leon was doing what now?

"I'm sorry, I haven't reported in to Mr. Sudeki. Who is this?"

[Leon]

Bailey could make out a hurt whimper from the radio before clearing their throat.

"Ahem, I am Professor Clearheart and I am the foremost advanced researcher in the fields of your needs. Mister Sudeki chose me specifically to come and help you."

[Bailey Oleander]

"I see." Bailey looked up at the tree as she spoke. "Well, professor, we'd certainly appreciate any help you could provide, but that still leaves how he would know what I need specifically. I haven't reported anything in yet." She let go of the button to speak to Alex.

"I'm going to see what's up with the tree. It could be an outlet for all the qi here, or it could be something else. She takes the radio with her as she starts walking up past the first set of lower branches, trying to see how far up it goes or if there's anything of note in the branches!

"Clearly young lady you need to sit down and read up on the Sudeki family. They know far more than they let on."

Bailey would find on the trunk a symbol! It looked to be the same as the underground doors!

[Bailey Oleander]

The voice on the other end probably wasn't wrong.

"I'll keep that in mind. Thank you, professor. As for our location, we're currently at the power plant at the site." Bailey would give a more exact location as she knew it, waving the guard over to hand the radio back to him before turning her attention to the tree.

"Mr Geschichte? The tree has symbol as the doors." Bailey would get closer to the chest and see if it's got a ridiculous energy level in it, too!

Not a ridiculous energy level, but a pulsing energy level similar to what she sensed before. The tree was also giving off warmth at the symbol.

[Bailey Oleander]

You know what she's going to do.

"Did you find any roots around the doors when you were digging around them?"  The warmth is a curious change.  Bailey sits on a branch and waits for an answer, theories comign to mind once more.

[Leon]

Alex would respond.

"No, I think it goes too deep for there to be near surface roots."

[Bailey Oleander]

"I see." That was one theory down, then. With a quiet hmmm, Bailey gives in and pushes the button!

[Leon]

Bailey feels the tree trunk move. Not largely but with a reaction to her touch. It's warmth wraps her calmly and should she look around there would be nothing but the blackness. Just her and the tree existed in whatever plane she had discovered.

"Cometh time, time doth demand. Darkness spreads, a light it sheds. Awoken to the path, power doth seek, to end the darkness, one must speak."

A voice impossibly from the tree is audible.

[Bailey Oleander]

The warmth was almost comforting, a sense of life in the blackness that surrounded them. Blinking, Bailey looked around, but there was no one else there. Just her and a now talking tree. In the back of her mind, she wondered if the others thought she disappeared. Then the tree spoke and the thought died down, leaving only its voice in her mind. A riddle, or a prophecy.

"What darkness? What do I need to speak?" She's assuming it's her, but it could be anyone, even if she was the one hearing this.

[Leon]

There was a soft rumbling from the tree and silence for mere moments.

"Doth thou seekith the power to end the darkness? Speak thy purpose and prove your heart."
