"Technically I live here, now, but you're still correct. I did reside with the Gods, and though I wouldn't go so far as to say I am one, my grandfather is."
It was softly said but still factually stated, obviously not something she was boastful over.

At that point she'd look at Arianna her turn to be silent and observant as Eric asked her a question. She also knew not much more could come of what Avice wanted to talk to him about for the moment.

"How does he feel about you being here at Cabal?"
He'd ask. Avice was correct that Eric would not say much about their training and what they were working on here. Not on Cabal grounds, and not around other people.

”About as impressed and enthusiastic as I was, I’m sure. But something about regulations and not even the granddaughter of a God being able to duck out of them means that I’m here regardless of any feelings about it.”
She continued stitching, her movements precise and careful.
“What made you get involved with Cabal?”

She looked at Eric as she started asking somewhat personal questions to him

"The reasonableness of that I'm sure depends on how much you buy into the fact that they claim to be Gods."
He'd smirk. Many God's believed themselves to truly be divine. But a few, a rare few remembered that they were born Men.
"As for my reasons to join Cabal, those are my own."
It sure as hell wasn't for training.

"There's probably only one God, but for twenty years I've been questioning whether He even cares. Those that reside in God Territory, while powerful and extraordinary, are still men and women at the end of it all."
Oh no, Arianna was terribly aware of the fact they were mortal, hence a great amount of reasoning as to why she didn't bother to bluster about it.
"That's fair. I was curious, and figured I would simply ask. I'm a doctor and I'm not here to interrogate people as to why they joined."
More stitching.

"If he cared I doubt we'd be in the situation we are in now."

"...you're not wrong."
She could have her faith and still be disgruntled with it. Better than despair over everything being without reason than some handful of people gone mad tearing down the world with nothing at the end of it all through their existence. Others could manage, but she couldn't. Maybe if she grew even more disgruntled than she was - if life kicked humanity around still more - she might feel strong enough to change things.
She glanced at Avice a moment before returning her attention to her work before she went for the next dip of her needle into his flesh. Each suture was neat and orderly, pulling Eric's skin together enough for the edges to meet without a puckered pull that suggested it was too tight.

"Gods already laid the ground rules. Sometimes you just have to let the children figure out that shit hurts. Even if he cares we keep doing the same shit and not learnin' We keep blowin' up peace in the face til their is none of us left." Avice had little opinion of the human race as a whole and even less so of Gods. She felt they were on their own in this world. She'd been alone through it most of her journey's to think otherwise.

She didn't really have much to say - either adding or contesting - to the conversation, and so moved her shoulders.
Perhaps it was that way for others...not so much for her.
So she continued stitching.

Avice instead gave thought to it all and came up with a question.
"If that be the whole truth... What do we work so hard and lose pieces of arselves for? Seems like a lot of pain without end if ya ask me."
