She looked at him and took a heavy breath.

"Did Mr.Matthew trust you?" that was her big question. One she felt would finalize her decision.

"Enough to leave me at his home alone with his children when they were babies. So I would like to think he trusts me as much as I trust him."

She felt that was honest enough. And she pressed her lips in a thin line and gripped her jeans.


A deep inhale only to exhale a breathy "...okay." as her giving him her answer. She would give it a shot. While a shot in the dark it was she took her chance to trust.

Barker would reach for her hand if allowed and simply poke it with his index finger. Sure enough her eyes would change and she could see through the illusions. In the center of the paper was a crystal imbedded and on the paper someone drew a crude picture of a butt.

"That's what every file from the investigation really is. An illusion that tricks your mind into vague acceptable and familiar ideas of what reasonably happened in your head with a few key facts."

Barker would explain.

"By looking at it then putting it away and explaining yourself you put yourself in a new mindset, which changed the file."

He'd sigh quietly.

"This is likely quite straining for the person making all these illusions constantly draining their power whenever someone looks. However it proves that Mathews death is fake."

[Onides Une]

She saw the paper and saw the crude butt drawn on it which made her nose wrinkle in slight disgust and disappointment.


While she understood what he meant for sure. This kind of joke was Hardly humorous while talking about a dead man... Who might not actually be...

She looked at him as if she was just slapped. "Faked? His death is faked?! His family too or just his?" she had leaned forward again both hands covering her shocked expression. The smell of blood about her wounds hardly phased her.

"Wait a moment, this Qi crystal... Could it trace you to the one who embedded it?" she pointed to the paper but came to some sense and retracted herself. "Surely it wouldn't be that simple you likely thought about it already hadnt you? Not only that but if someone has Mr. Matthew in hiding... Or if he him self doesnt want to be found. Either reason I'd starve to know the answer to!"

"Now you are catching on."

Barker would grin and fold his hands in his lap.

"But you are focusing on the wrong thing. All these reports came out official through Cabal, had a funeral with bodies present, even Mathews. Everyone SAW the bodies. Right?"

He'd sit forward.

"So what say you to a bit of a job opportunity?"

She held up her hand the one he touched. "I'll trust you to do right with me and what you need..." she was no fool naive maybe but she would guess he had reason to draw her in like he did like a cat to a string. She was likely being used by him and suffering no delusions she made it easy for him she just hoped she was betting on a winning horse.

"With that I will absolutely take the job!" she kind of couldn't hide the beam in her face the sense of excitement. Usually the thought of doing this frightened her but he gave her some thing to nibble at and all she felt right now was hype.

Barker would smile.

"Of course. However, I also need to know I can trust you."

He would fold his arms entirely at this point thinking and finally coming to a conclusion.

"I have just the idea in mind. How about, you attack Eric Cunningham without provocation and tell him Sean Barker is still in the game."

[Onides Une]

She couldn't have grown more pale if she tried. Her last experience with Eric was not a pleasant one.

But she learned a bit from that interaction. Already ahe started to think of a plan. "I-I will let you know how that pans out." and boy she was not looking forward to it in the slightest.

"I look forward to it."

Barker would clap and smile. Stepping on the floor a hole would open above Oni before a pillar would lift her up into the hole and traveling quite a bit before popping up. Standing someone in Cabal's courtyard, nobody he wiser.
