The Still of the Night [David]

[David B.]

He held his head.

"I....I see." He'd push himself to his feet, and stumble to bed, food untouched. He'd collapse into it, passing out as his head hit the pillow.

Poor Kyrie.

[Kyrie Blaze]

...well.

At least he made it back to bed?

The blonde sighed and did what she could; food and water were moved to the stand beside his bed before she made her exit...ish. First she politely fixed and/or closed the door.

[David B.]

As she walked over and set the food on his bedside table, his hand would snatch out and grab her wrist....and she'd feel a strange tug at the back of her head and then-

She'd find herself in the middle of a battlefield. Bodies were littered everywhere- some Dragons, some crows, some other various territories. Titans. David was holding Khaos aloft by the throat and screaming, lighting ripping off his body as a massive tornado was coming down out of the sky toward them. Everything except Kyrie was moving in super slow motion.

David, covered in blood, didn't seem to notice her just yet.

Though she'd just been standing in Cabal - knew she'd just been standing there - it was like reliving the war all over again, and all the post-traumatic stress was suddenly real and live. She'd been there, but not there. Had she been, she wouldn't be alive. For a brief moment she was stunned to a jerking stop, wide blue eyes taking everything.

Her heart might have stopped but she sprang forward with a cry of his name, blades of shadow forming in her hands.

Khaos' head would make a good pincushion from them. Maybe she could stave off the tornado.

[David B.]

As she hit him, she'd pass right through, his form like smoke. That would be the same for most people on the battlefield. But after passing through him if she turned around, she'd see a MASSIVE monolith also rising up from the ground in slow motion, the superstorm called in by David rallying around it.

[Kyrie Blaze]

What..?

Kyrie tucked into a roll and popped back to her feet, turning swiftly.

"What is going on."

Her heart was racing, that was what was going on. Everything was far, far beyond her control.

[David B.]

The screaming David, at her speaking, seemed to turn, and step out of himself like a clone. The one who stepped out seemed faded and she could see through him mostly. He frowned.

"Kyrie...? Why are you here?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

Stranger things...

Would happen where they could, apparently.

Kyrie frowned in turn.

"You could ask your sleeping self that...you grabbed my wrist, now I am here."

[David B.]

David looked around.

"Interesting. Do you...know where we are? I only see dim shapes and shadows."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"The field where you called the F5 down."

The war. The bodies. The death. The metallic tang of blood. It was all clear to her.

[David B.]

As she said that, the images came into focus. His voice was quiet.

"I see."

He'd gesture up at the monolith.

"And that?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

”I do not know. But I am going to find out.”

Her eyes roamed towards it, head turning and body following suit. Chances were if he could, he’d come with. She wouldn’t complain for it; as it was she was inspecting it along with the rest of the area, seeking anything, any inkling as to who or where it was connected to.

Or if there was anyone else she needed to be aware of.

It felt like someone was playing.

Kyrie didn’t like it.

[David B.]

David would nod.

"Alright, I shall accompany you."

He grinned, then looked down at his hands.

"Too bad I'm all caspered. I could help fight."

[Kyrie Blaze]

”Apparently you are not meant to. Or someone does not want you to.”

She glanced to him, curious and questioning.

Everything should be questioned.

Even David, himself.

[David B.]

"Mm, possibly. I don't think anyone is here though."

He looked around.

"Anyone but us, it seems. When they kept my powers strapped and restricted my memories, they did the latter with Qi crystals. I'm assuming this is some...residual effect of it."
