The Still of the Night [David]

[Kyrie Blaze]

”You have had the bindings for the better part of ten years. I assume it will take time to unravel everything.”

Back to looking around as they made their way to the monolith, then.

[David B.]

David would follow her, eyes looking over the various areas of the battlefield.

"I remember all of this. I remember calling down the storm. I remember killing so many....but I don't remember being at Cabal or...dying. You say it's been ten years?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

”About ten years, yes.”

She glanced to the side, at him. Perhaps it made sense with the crystals suppressing everything from a certain point. Especially if his body had been torn apart beyond saving.

She didn’t seem to be keen on giving too many details just yet, however.

[David B.]

"Curiouser and curiouser. Are we still married in this so-called future?"

A grin.

[Kyrie Blaze]

”Yes.” Very simply put. She glanced over, by the corner of her eye. “Though with those wristbands on you had zero idea about anything in your past. Five years ago, when I found out you were alive, but shackled, I came to find you. I wound up deciding that through fighting you, and you remembering nothing, that if I could not bring you back...you were better off dead and not a puppet on their strings.”

Clearly, that didn’t work out.

[David B.]

He nodded sagely.

"Good choice. I'm dead then? That's the real reason we're here, isn't it, Storm Dragon?"

He grinned broadly. That was how it worked. Kill an Elder Dragon.

Take his name.

[Kyrie Blaze]

”No.” The corner of her lip twitched. “You would not have dragged me here if you were. You are still the Storm Dragon, even if you could not remember yourself.”

[David B.]

"Well shit."

He put his hands behind his head.

"You failed...? That's not like you."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"I found one of many ways it did not work." She stated with a slight lift of her shoulders. "Nearly lost my life in the process, so I learned my lesson and came back. So now we go about it this way, with my joining Cabal. Asiv decided to relieve you of the bracelets after you and I had a tussle in the courtyard."

[David B.]

He blinked.

"How odd. Must be nearing the time for war, then."

They kept walking, and as they got closer to the monolith, they'd hear a slight humming like a vibration.

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Mm. It is on the immediate horizon."

And it was a consideration she had after.

For now, though, she tilted her head, trying to make out if there was a tune or words with the humming. If not...she had an idea or two, to check, before proceeding.

[David B.]

There was no tune or melody, just static vibrating.

"Yikes. I hope I'm ready for it. Glad to hear that-" he jammed a thumb at the tornado he was pulling down. "-didn't take my life like I expected."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"I am fairly certain it did. I do not know how you were brought back..."

It obviously hadn't been Arianna, all things considered.

"One moment."

As long as there was a shadow, Kyrie would pop into it, and listen from there. One never knew what was what with sound distortion, and she wasn't about to discount the fact that things could shift in the shadow plane.

[David B.]

The sound would make a ringing noise now, which was immediately obvious to Kyrie. She'd see through her shadow world this small stone. Purple. Pulsing and vibrating in the ash below the monolith.

David, meanwhile, seemed thoughtful about his death.

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Do you know anything about a small purple...stone?"

Perhaps it was a crystal for all she knew. For now she didn't try to reach out to it, not by moving towards it, and not with her qi, either. But she was staring quite intently, as if puzzling it out.
