She'd come back to Cabal, Cousta B. is practically next door and she needed to kind of armor up. The land was toxic and she in many obvious ways had lost her Qi. Like when she missed her train this morning and tried to phase through the door only to smack her nose into it. She might have turned a shade of red comparable to her tiefling self. Not to mentionion it hurt.
She'd entered the grounds and headed to the officials offices and turning the corner she'd nearly run into someone.
"Oh!" she blinked a couple of times and saw who it was! "Oooh..." she coughed. Turning too the side as if looking like she was getting out of his way. While her instinct would been to phase through the corner wall out of sight. Touching the wall and it not giving she remembered... She was normal!
She twitched a smile. He might be walking off not paying her much mind... Until now. Now she'd get her chance. "Blake!" she'd call out to him.

He was making the preparations that he needed to call his people and see about leaving Cabal. They'd been here long enough, home needed to be rebuilt, and his people needed a sense of normalcy. They couldn't stay here forever, not without losing their identity. And that was not something that he was willing to sacrifice.
"Excuse me."
He'd say to the stranger as she nearly bumped into him. He was trying to be on his best behavior given his position and what that represented now. The mask on the side of his head was heavy in more ways than one. He needed to be a better version of himself than he'd ever been. His people needed him to be that better version.
However, he'd stop hearing a quasi-familiar voice, but more importantly, one saying his name. He'd look to see who it was!
Choosing Virgil!

She'd smile, actually chuckle a bit confused at what Virgil would be about. Apparently she's missed somethings.
"Aah... Sorry, my name is Onides, I just wanted to say I've heard and seen so much about you." she began to fiddle with her poncho. "I've admired your strength and it is inspiring me to be stronger as well. To be someone who in your eyes would become respected... While I do not believe I am there yet I know you have to leave soon. We might see each other again and I'd like to think by that you'd remember me and not recognize me at the same time. For the distance I will travel is boundless."

That was... unexpected...
He hadn't really made any bonds with anyone outside of Bailey, and Krane to a degree. And Krane was dead now. Most people here had rubbed him the wrong way and he'd rubbed them right back. Aggressively. Truth be told, it was the first time he'd ever been told that he'd inspired someone. Even with his people electing him to lead them, he felt that had to do with his actions. Not an innate quality about himself. He'd never seen himself as inspiring and to hear that someone, for some reason did was weird.
Not unpleasant. But weird. He wasn't really sure what to say. He was at a loss for words. But he also knew it was unbecoming of an Elder to just stare at someone giving him a compliment. He needed to say something back. Something nice? Maybe?
"Uhhh". He faulted for a moment before giving her a bow of thanks for her kind words. "You're words are too kind. To know that I've managed to inspire someone is more than I ever would have expected from my stay at Cabal. I thank you for the kind sentiment Miss Onides."
Was that good? He didn't know. It felt really wordy. Maybe he was talking too much...

His silence almost caused her to cave from nerves. Good thing it was a short one, she'd almost tried to take back some of it and admitted it was weird all that coming from a stranger.
Her smile grew wider in relief and joy she'd not expected him to say so much either. But she was happy and she understood.
"If you prefer or if it is easier to remember, my friends call me Oni, usually." she'd reach a hand to him to shake. If he took it it would be firm from her and confident.
He was so close though, she had never been this close. She leaned forward and touched her lips to leave a peck on his cheek quickly before backing away. Her own grew red and a bit shocked at what she'd done. She'd let go of his hands and crossed over her chest with them. She couldn't tell if she was so happy that she might cry or really embarrassed that she wished she'd run away. She'd not cry or run away. Not before this man.
"Suppose it might be hard to forget a meeting like this one now..." she felt she just made this really awkward.

When she brought up the name Oni recognition flashed in his eyes. He recalled her now, though she looked very different from before. But that was the name of the name of the demonic looking woman who constantly followed him before he left Cabal. He'd not done anything about it because she had simply watched him. She'd never bothered or approached him, so he saw no need to change things. He was confused about why she looked different though. He was about to say something when she brought her lips to his cheek silencing him again.
Confusion washed over his face, unsure of what just happened. Or to be more exact, why it had happened. He'd slowly bring a hand up, his fingers brushing over his cheek where she had kissed him. Almost like he was in disbelief about it happening. His chest fluttered and tightened as his stomach knotted. He felt a surge of adrenaline as the beast within him woke and roared out in the back of his mind. Something it hadn't done in a while. Though rather than rip out her throat the image it flashed through his mind was of him pushing her against the lockers and capturing her lips with his fiercely.
Ever since waking up to find out he was now the leader of his people his sense of independence and control had continued to erode. The burden of his duty growing heavier each day as his people's situation was bleak. He'd be lying if he said part of him didn't want to run away from his responsibilities. Though he'd never do that. A bigger part of him though just wanted to seize the moment. Any moment to feel that sense of control again. Like he was in charge of his life, and he had more than just the series of choices set before him.
But it wouldn't be proper. So he buried his beast and it's desired back down inside of him as he made eye contact with her.
"I think I do remember you, now that you mention it." He'd not mention her kiss, not wanting to make her feel awkward. "You are the woman with the horns that would watch me from the trees. Correct?"

She looked at him shocked to boot. He mentioned her as in he noticed her? She had kept her distance and been not but a vague bystander. But it didn't escape him to have seen her. Her nerves made her a bit stiff.
"Yes... Um..." she started dancing with her hands finding words. "I did not think you cared to notice others unless they came to you directly. I mean... You'd mostly be by yourself. I just wanted to respect that."

"I appreciate it. A lot of people lack that respect and would interrupt my training."
And then he'd kick their ass. It was a whole thing.

She nodded in agreement.
"And now I hear you'll be going away..." she kept her smile but she might of had trouble hidding the bit of sadness that it would bring her. "I kind of regret not being able to talk to you like this before."

He nodded.
"My people have decided to make me the Elder of the territory. My duty now lay with guiding them to a brighter future."

"At the very least a stronger one. This world is a bit scarred. Actually I'm on a mission that is about to lead me through one of the most scarred lands in history... It'll test my strength to the brim." she grinned. "I've lived a comfortable life til now and I've been lazy and scared. However I've come to realize I cant be a selfish child playing games if war is going to keep breaking down my front door. I have a Dad to protect. Even if the future seems bleak I'll want to be strong enough to handle the storm."
Maybe the words were supposed to be inspirational. It was kind of word vomiting but also it was something she was learning on this trip she had to express it.

"Beware killing yourself in your attempt to prove your strength."
From the sound of it she planned to do something stupid. And from the sound of it, she was not prepared. Or maybe not capable. Possibly both.

"Thats why I've come back to Cabal for a moment." she'd nod in agreement. However full knowing she might already be nose deep in stupid choices she had hope she might not be in over her head just yet. "I mean to know more and be better prepared. If it comes to the point I'm not strong enough then I will find another way." one thing she can say is she wasn't rushing into cousta bjour unprotected. But if the daughter of Mathew Amtrum is in there then their has to be a way.
Rest assured she was making a plan that involved her coming back Alive.

"I see."
He didn't have anything to offer when it came to traveling into such a treacherous region. They didn't hunt around Qi scars.

She waved a hand brushing aside that part. "Anyway..." she looked down at herself. "Knowing what I know now I do wonder if you are still against those with physically alternating Qi's or really Qi in general? I guess if you saw me before now..." she exhaled in frustration with her own words. Just needed spit them out already. "Would you care if I still looked like..?" she pointed a pair of fingers to her forehead to mimick horns. Right now she didn't have her Qi or any Qi for that matter she'd have to come to terms on some matter on accepting that or accepting the latter. Realizing such truths will help her.
