What makes a God? (Open)

Stevie just listened. She hadn’t even thought about any of that. Figures. Silly girl.

“I...”

She couldn’t say anything. What was there to say. If she was completely honest with herself, she was COMPLETELYcaught off guard that he had mentioned sex. Holy shit. Good thing she was already blushing.

He watched her be a little flabbergasted.

"Shall I show you?"

He offered her his hand.

Her eyes went wide.

“Sh-show me?”

Was he offering THAT?!

"Yes. Show you."

He kept his hand outstretched.

Stevie was absolutely stunned. She was pretty sure she knew what he was asking, but all the same.... Didnsje want to? Oh Gods, Stevie. She mentally slapped herself. Of course she did. She had never done it though. But she wanted to... maybe.... Stevie cautiously reached her hand out and grasped Baldur our stretched hand. It was as warm as his arm had been. She wanted to throw herself into his arms and feel his warmth smother her. It felt right. All of him felt right in this moment.

As she took his hand, she'd feel energy snap up her up light a bolt.  Stevie would start to feel....incredible.

Invincible.

Immortal.

There was nothing in the world she could not conquer.

"You feel that?"

Despite these feelings, the warmth remained.

"That is what it's like to be a God."

Stevie drew herself into Balders chest and looked up into his face.

“Is it wrong to want to feel this way with you?”

Her gaze was almost apologetic mixed with thirst.

He searched her eyes.

"Youngling, you have no idea what you want. My gift, and my curse."

He'd take her hips....and very gently push her away. As he did so, the incredible feeling of Godhood vanished, leaving her with the much lighter feeling of attraction once more.

He seemed confident despite what might be awkward for most.

"I cannot take the flower of one who does not yet understand what she truly wants."

If his power forced women to do this, after all....what was the point?

As he pushed her away, Stevie’s eyes began to sting. He had rejected her. After all that, turned her away.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have-“

She broke off and turned her face away as a tear slid down her cheek. What was wrong with her? It was just sex right? So why did it hurt that he didn’t...

"Do not shed tears for that which is misunderstood. If I thought you really wanted meaningless sex to be your first, I'd happily grant you an experience worth a hundred lifetimes."

He cocked a brow.

"But I have a feeling you, like others before you, would wake the next morning to shame and uncertainty. I wouldn't wish that on anyone."

[Stevie-Rae]

“Sex is meaningless to you.”

It wasn’t a question, just a statement.

“I’m sorry. I know you don’t know me and could not possibly want anything more than— meaningless-“

Just a girl. Just a silly human. No god would want her.

“‘Sex is meant to be a beautiful thing. Don’t ever give it up because you feel you have to.’ Momma always told me that when I’d start dating a new guy. She didn’t want it to be meaningless.” Stevie would look at the ground, watching the traitorous tear hit with a small splash. “I guess I don’t want to be meaningless either.”

She’d turn around and face the God.

“I just thought maybe I could be something to you. I don’t see how I could regret spending time with you. If life is so short, why not enjoy it while you can. What with all the wars going on... well you never know when you time is up. Right?”

He grinned.

"Many who see me do. But think through the mist- we just met. Just spoke to one another for a few short minutes. And to be honest, you need no validation. You're clearly bright, and beautiful, and courageous. Don't let people like us make people like you feel small."

He waggled his finger.

"And I never said sex is meaningless to me. Just that most God's find the act to be so."

[Stevie-Rae]

“Do you-“ she trailed off, wishing he was closer again. Did she want the answer to the question? Did she want to know if he wanted her? She thought about it for a moment.

“I don’t see how anyone could wake up next to you and not be completely content.”

She wanted to add how happy she would be to wake up next to him more than once. She’d be on top of the world, Goddess or no.

[Baldur Odinson]

He laughed.

"You don't know me, Stevie."

He'd reach into the pouch at his waist and withdraw a coin, tossing it to her.

"On a sunny day, flip that into a fountain and I'll come. Until then....it has been a pleasure, beautiful."

He winked, and a ray of sun caught him in a flash and-

He was gone.

His laughter filled her ears like warm milk and honey. He handed her a coin. And then he was gone. He left, but.... he’d come back? Her feelings seemed to somewhat dissipate. She turned in the spot, but he was gone. She deflated. Well, no God-dick today Was what he said true? If she tosses the coin, he would comeback? She hood so. Slowly, she walked back to her dorm room and crawled into bed. Time for a nice long nap. Then, emetional checks.

******* 2.5 hours later*********

Stevie stretched and rubbed her eyes. That was a great nap. Odd dream though. A school. Is full of fish. She didn’t think that was how a ‘school of fish’ got around, but who was she to judge? Thoughts of what had happened earlier raced back into her brain. She frowned and spoke to her room:

“He didn’t find anything out about Krane.”

She threw off her covers and sat up, swinging her legs over the side of the bed.

On a sunny day, toss this coin into a fountain and I’ll be there

Stevie shook her head and laughed. “I think one guy is enough for me.” Although the thought lingered. She had felt something for him still. Even if it was just his smile or his laugh. Hells, maybe even his chest or biceps. But there was definitely something about that God that she just couldn’t shake. It couldn’t be love could it? As he said, they had just met.

It couldn’t be... could it?
