His brush off of the pain made her give him a look that called bullshit, but she nodded and proceeded with the training. He knew his own limits. Besides, everyone had their secrets.

"Alright." She took a few moments to go through basic forms with her sword, getting the feel of how it felt to work with it as she would in an actual battle. There were things she could use as targets, including the broken bits of rock that were large enough, but that wouldn't matter if she struggled with the basics.

The familiar grin returned as the water shield formed around her. She'd have to invest in a battle mage or two next time, though, to get the full feel of the effects this could do for her. She shifted her weight, getting the feel of how it would be if she needed to move quickly in it, then kicked at the largest portion of semi-frozen rock, intending to break it into pieces she could launch into the air.

Then watched as lightning ruptured it, gathering electric energy and breaking apart with a peculiar scorching pattern on the ice that had her stop long enough to blink before launching the pieces into the air with her qi. The rocks were launched skyward in an arc with the second kick, teh ability they both knew most from her. Totally acting like she knew she was going to have another element suddenly added to the attack.

One, two rocks struck with a single blow before they reached the peak of their arc.

"No, there is some more. The mobility on this one is easiest to compare, though." Roz shook her head, lips pressing into a line at the question. She knew it wasn't mockery, but she felt almost stagnant with it, watching as others progressed farther than she did in the time she'd been there, even before her. Then again, perhaps that was part of what happened when you took severe injuries in battle. Progress stalled until you pushed forward.

The familiar sensation of water splashing against her skin was another breath of fresh air and the blue veins crawled up her legs as though it were second nature now. She could feel the energy from Preston, the strength and stability as his water shield burst around her like a punctured bubble.

"Can you form one of your stone tombs as a target?"

"I don't see why not."

He'd concentrate on his Mana but rather on focusing on the area around Roz he would focus on a spot several meters in front of her.

"Ushesh"!

The stone forming up a hollow shell that would normally house a person. A target.

Roz nodded at the sight of the stone gaol forming in the distance. She eyed her partner's creation, noting the texture of the stone, the areas where there were more craters or the potential for fractures if she focused on her attacks.

"Perfect." Deciding to give herself a bit of a speed test with the armor, rushing the stone target, she would rush the gaol. Rather than use the blade itself, she slammed the pommel of her sword against it, a patch of ice forming on contact. The sound of stone cracking was louder than it had been when she'd been fighting from within, and when she struck again, the ice crackled and spread outward, webbing outward in an unmistakable "X". The gaol crumbled to the earth it stood on when she flicked a finger at the center of the mark, bits of debris scattering with the wind of her melee attack from the second blow.

It took significantly less effort than before. Turning to Preston, she nodded.

"I've found it easier to identify and hone on the weakest part of an enemy's defense, for one." Not bad for a girl with one eye.

"Impressive." He'd say, adjusting his glasses. "Let's see if you can still break it as fast when I use more Mana though."

The gloves on his hands came to life, electricity crackling from them as he brought the extra energy inward and formed the mana again, several meters from where she stood.

"Ushesh"!

The Goal target would form back up, ready to test her abilities!

Her lips quirked in the only response he needed: Challenge accepted. And she did expect a challenge from the new Cleric, a man whose focus was on his qi rather than physical might. The crackle of electricity was a nice touch, too.

A sweet melody began to play as she adjusted to the new form of the gaol, a serenade of harp strings that filled the air around her, filling her ears and mind. Strange though it was, she felt reinvigorated as well, as she was stronger now than she had been even moments before, even if she didn't know where it came from. For a brief moment, she wondered if Preston could hear it, too, eying her partner before shrugging it off and attacking the stone once more. Different patterns, different weaknesses, but they were clearer now than they had been. She assumed she was getting used to armor, or at least liked to assume.

The stone cracked even further as she put all her might into the blow, the X forming again as a small crater formed in the rock from the wind that accompanied the strike. She struck again, damaging it further and leaving a decent crater, but the fact remained that the stone still stood. The melody continued.

She frowned at the failure, even if the damage was fairly decent. That wouldn't be enough in battle, even if she could possibly save face in front of her partner in the moment.

He'd say, smiling to himself. The music was a new addition though, he was unsure of the purpose but it looked like she was holding back less than before. Perhaps it was a new enhancement of some type? Or maybe it was an anomaly similar to his Mana scar.

The holy energy would once more envelope her as he tried to restore her strength.

The surge of energy coursed through her as she felt some of her spent energy returning, revitalizing her as well as her morale. There was no point on dwelling on the lack of complete success for now. It was merely a means to mark her current progress.

...Was she actually starting to think like him, or just being reasonable? Ari cackled in the back of her mind at the thought, but fell silent as the melody continued. She could feel him almost swaying in time with the tune.

She struck the rock again, slamming her fist into it this time as she went for the weakest spot, the heart of the crater. The blow was solid, as though she expected to break through it and pull out whatever treasure was hidden within. This time, the goal would meet the same fate as the previous one, falling to the ground. She took a step back, and was rewarded by not being in close range to the lightning that erupted from the ice and crackled, zipping and zapping around the gaol as it fell.

"Much better." Nodding, she turned her attention to the armor, curious to see what weaknesses she would find in a qi-based defense rather than that of solid materials. A soft white glow began to emanate from her, blinding the pirate for a moment until it took the form of a small orb that burst forward, hovering in the air and solidifying into the shape of a woman.

A woman who could apparently hover and had a lot of feathers. Her brows rose, taking in the form of the five-inch Siren playing her harp. It was the same melody as before, and the little blonde was practically beaming, the feathers in her hair shifting upward as she rose and tucked the harp away with a happy little hum.

That was... unexpected.

The siren's focus shifted to Preston as he spoke, eyes lighting up at the hypothesis as though rewarding him for being correct, though she was now silent. Still the woman, gave a a small bounce as well before looking back to Rozalin, her body doing things similar to the pirate's with the motion.

"Apparently?" It was news to her. The siren, unperturbed, proceeded to make herself comfortable on Roz's shoulder, wings tucking in close so that she wasn't obstructing anything while taking in all that happened around them.

"Apparently? As in, it wasn't intentional?"

[Rozalin Kendal]

"Correct." Rozalin shifted to get a look at the small being on her shoulder, then shook her head instead, momentarily blocking her companion's view as her hair fell in front of her with the motion.

"The music was new, but it didn't feel wrong. I've seen yours, of course, but I'm no expert on how rare they are."

"I crafted mine. To have one just appear is rare."
