"I-If y-you c-can e-expand o-on i-it, b-be m-my g-guest.. I-If n-not, I-I'll a-act a-accordingly t-to y-your c-consultation."
Keith nodded.
"Alright, here goes. You only need to do major advertisements for the grand opening for example. Outsource the advertising to some company that'll create the fliers, etc. Like a public relations firm. For a price, they'll go out and promote the restaurant for you. Like a two-ten day contract for example where they'll go promote the restaurant."
That was the first point.
"Whenever the day is slow, your servers that have no tables to serve can go outside and pass around fliers. Put fliers on the people's windshields. Wouldn't hurt to offer discounts to police, fire department, and military personel. It'll make them feel more welcome," he added.
Keith sipped his iced mocha.
"If you have some special going on or a special night. You can hire a PR firm again. Make sure you keep all receipts of your business expenses. That way you leave a paper trail behind and you can write those expenses off. Hiring an ad manager is just a waste of time, that person would be sitting on his/her ass most of the time. For good advertisement, invite people from the media especially food critics to try out your food. Good food and good service equals good reviews. Good reviews equals more customers."
He paused a bit allowing Winters to absorb all of that information.
"Plus outsourcing to a PR firm counts as a business expense."

Edit: Instead of requoting what you said, I'll get straight to the point. ..Buisness Expense?... "U-Um... y-you've s-stated t-that t-term s-several t-times, b-but... I-I'm a-afraid I-I m-may o-only g-grasp th-the i-idealogy sl-slightly." he began out slowly."..B-But.. w-what i-is a-a b-buisness e-expense, s-specifically?"And just as he finished commenting, he flipped the page of his notes, and began to write down quickly the extra details Keith gave him beforehand..

"..B-But.. w-what i-is a-a b-buisness e-expense, s-specifically?"
That was the million dollar question. At least he asked what a business expense was. Taking another sip of his iced mocha, Keith took a slight pause before explaining to Winters what business expenses were.
"Business expenses can range from any kind of expense that has anything to do with your business. Expenses to keep the business functioning," he explained.
Keith waited for Winters to write that down before continuing.
"Like the cost of ingredients for food such as meat, vegetables, etc. Those are business expenses for example," Keith added.
He took another sip.
"Anything you buy for the business is a business expense. Like if you bought a fax machine, that's a business expense. Internet access is a business expense, too," he continued.
"Got any "ideas" on your expenses? I need you to level with me on them," he added.

OOC: Now's a good time to also explain about the items you want to make for your workers.
Keith examined the list of expenses. Most of them could be branded as business expenses. He then cleared his throat and took another sip of his iced mocha.
"Depreciation is yearly... Depending on what equipment you buy such as cooking utinsils, computer hardware, software, and all other stuff. 1/6th of the depreciated value. Meaning the value depreciates within six years," Keith explained.
"However, with travel, internet, phone usage, TV, and everything else, you can immediately write them off as business expenses," he added.
Also there were another thing Winters needed to pay attention to.
"For example, there's one business expense right now. The coffee you bought for yourself and I."
Yes that's right, this too counted as a business expense.
"This is pretty much a business meeting. So save the receipts. If you go out anywhere to dinner or something and you talk about the business, save those receipts."
Keith took another sip of his iced mocha.
"Are there any other expenses you have in mind?"

...Something... 'Else'. "Are there any other expenses you have in mind?" ...
For the first time during their meeting.. his hand went to the coffee, and took a sip, and then.. pressed up his glasses towards himself with the same hand.. the eyes reflecting off it not aimed at Keith, but covering up the look on his eyes.. as he gave Keith a rare..
..Smile."..Y-You c-could s-say th-that. B-But, s-since th-this I-IS a-a b-business m-meeting.. I s-suspect th-that y-you w-will k-keep th-this b-between u-us o-only, a-anyways.."A few strands of hair covered his left eye, as he bowed his head down slightly.
..Something sinister?"...T-The r-restaurant w-will b-be f-funding.. a-a s-secondary o-organization o-of m-mine..."
"..I-In w-weapons d-dealings a-and d-development."Quickly writing down something furiously, his face quickly becoming impassive again.. a quick summary was summed up.Organization: 'Militia' - Development of hand-to-hand weapons ranging from brass knuckles to custom-fitted 'metal bats', knives, swords, etc.
- Development of personal armors, kevlars, helmets, ear piece radios, etc.
- Development of various tools, items, bandages, etc.
- Development and research of various chemicals, etc.
- Participation in mercenary-related activities.
- Offering of 'protection' to members among other things.
Sliding it across the table to Keith, there was almost a.. lucid look in his own eyes."..M-Members w-will p-pay 25% o-of th-their w-wages t-to M-Militia, f-for v-various b-benefits, i-including p-prioritization o-of a-aforesaid 'products', a-and p-perhaps 'd-discounts'. Keith raised a brow.
This is starting to get rather interesting... What do you have planned, Mr. Winters?
"...T-The r-restaurant w-will b-be f-funding.. a-a s-secondary o-organization o-of m-mine..."
Secondary organization, eh?
Keith continued to listen to what Winters had to say. All Keith would do is give him his consultation and advice.
"..I-In w-weapons d-dealings a-and d-development."
Interesting...
"..M-Members w-will p-pay 25% o-of th-their w-wages t-to M-Militia, f-for v-various b-benefits, i-including p-prioritization o-of a-aforesaid 'products', a-and p-perhaps 'd-discounts'. Keith nodded.
"First off, your group... Are they within the restaurant?" Keith asked. Before they would proceed with Keith's payment, he wanted to get as much out of Winters as possible.

OOC: I'm sorry that my posts as of late aren't as detailed, but.. pressed for time. You know.'Militia': The Prerequisites Finally, a turn in the conversation where he did not look like a total fool. But, it could not be helped. He was a Freshmen, after all. But Keith? Well, his intelligence in general on this matter seemed very well read. Already, Jonathan had a high respect for this man, but his face wouldn't show it. Besides, it was a business relationship.
It started with a nod."First off, your group... Are they within the restaurant?" "..H-Hmm... s-some w-will b-be. I-It w-will b-be i-important t-to h-have f-fifty-p-percent o-or e-even s-seventy-f-five p-percent w-within t-the r-restaurant. B-But, w-we c-cannot g-grow i-if I-I j-just c-constrict o-ourselves t-to t-this r-restaurant, ja?"However, he did have some issues. Testing for loyalty. He'd need to find someone he could really trust. Ichimaru was a possibility. So was Kasumi. Jenna was the one that he would protect himself, personally.
...This meant, he'd have to either be very lucky, or...
Or course, even he was not aware of what Keith may have been really asking for his own information..
A fault in Jonathan, you could say. The aspect of honesty.
..Concealment was another thing, altogether.

"..H-Hmm... s-some w-will b-be. I-It w-will b-be i-important t-to h-have f-fifty-p-percent o-or e-even s-seventy-f-five p-percent w-within t-the r-restaurant. B-But, w-we c-cannot g-grow i-if I-I j-just c-constrict o-ourselves t-to t-this r-restaurant, ja?"
Keith thought about it a bit. About fifty to seventy-five percent will be within the restaurant. Of course if it's constricted, the other group cannot grow. But that wasn't any of Keith's business at all. He was simply here to give consultation about the restaurants and your expenses.
"Hmmm," Keith went taking another sip of his iced mocha.
He took a few seconds to think of it all.
"I'm just here to consult about your main business. This "shadow" organization isn't really any of my business. However, if you have one-half to three-fourths working in your restaurant, you could count your items for them as business expenses. For item making, it's best to outsource. And that can be counted as a business expense, too," Keith explained.
He took another sip.
"Though people are going to get suspicious of why you would need such items. Such as armors and weapons. But, then again... In a sense, it'll show that your restaurant is prepared to take on any degenerate that attempts to hold the place up or use this place as a standoff with hostages," Keith added.
He took another sip.
"It is a possibility you can use that as a way to lower your insurance premiums. You should also get a security system. That's tax deductable as well."

...Getting Closer... Keith showed a lot of self-control. Obviously, this turn in the discussion interested him, but never once did he let down his professional stand-point. Someone to respect, someone to fear. Jonathan's admiration had already grown quite a bit. With a sip of his mocha, Keith organized his thoughts very quickly, and jumped to it."I'm just here to consult about your main business. This "shadow" organization isn't really any of my business. However, if you have one-half to three-fourths working in your restaurant, you could count your items for them as business expenses. For item making, it's best to outsource. And that can be counted as a business expense, too." "..A-Aye.. a-aye..."..Thoughts dwelled. Bt he'd wait his turn to speak.
Another sip.
..Began to notice the pattern."Though people are going to get suspicious of why you would need such items. Such as armors and weapons. But, then again... In a sense, it'll show that your restaurant is prepared to take on any degenerate that attempts to hold the place up or use this place as a standoff with hostages." Jonathan almost smiled.
A sip of mocha. Yes, he'd gotten the pattern down. Jonathan had begun to scribble furiously again. Fingers hurting now, but, that was alright."It is a possibility you can use that as a way to lower your insurance premiums. You should also get a security system. That's tax deductible as well."
"..S-Speaking o-of w-which..." Jonathan began, as he dropped his pen for a moment, picking up his coffee, he gave it a swirl, and took a small sip. "...S-Should w-we b-be th-the on-one's p-purchasing th-the m-materials, o-or p-producing th-the p-products? J-Just t-trying t-to f-find o-out wh-which i-is m-more c-cost e-efficient.."
"...A-And th-the w-weapons a-and o-other th-things w-will b-be s-stored i-in u-upper l-levels o-of th-the b-building, wh-where I-I w-will b-be l-living. W-With a-an e-employee o-or t-two, w-who w-will a-all p-pay f-fifty p-percent o-of th-their w-wages, f-for a-additional d-discounts, a-as w-well a-as f-free f-food a-and l-lodging.."Writing down a few more notes.. he nodded, though, as he put the coffee back down."...T-Thoughts?"This meeting was getting more and more interesting..

Keith took a few moments to decide which is the best route for Winters to take. Of course you'd have to purchase the materials and such.
"...A-And th-the w-weapons a-and o-other th-things w-will b-be s-stored i-in u-upper l-levels o-of th-the b-building, wh-where I-I w-will b-be l-living. He plans on storing that stuff on the upper levels of the building... Winters will definitely need to get a security system.
"...T-Thoughts?"
"You outsource your weapons and items creation and keep the receipts, you can write them off your taxes as a business expense. Because item manufacturing is a paid expense. Plus it saves up a lot of time on your part. To make such items, you need all sorts of equipment. Equipment that has nothing to do with a restaurant. That'll draw lots of attention. Of course you can buy the materials and count that as a business expense. When you outsource, chances are that they'll charge extra for acquiring the materials for you. But either way, you can write those off as business expenses."
He took another sip of mocha.
"You'll definitely need to have a security system throughout the building. Tie the system with the phoneline. Something an uncle of mine did. If someone cuts the phoneline, the system goes off."
Keith paused and waited for Winters to absorb those tidbits of info.
"I do have other things you can write off as expenses, too for your restaurant."

OOC: This post feels like my most lackluster one... mostly, because I'm kaput.. and need to seriously do hw...I'm All Ears "You outsource your weapons and items creation and keep the receipts, you can write them off your taxes as a business expense. Nodding again, quietly.. still writing, he paused for a moment..
He took another sip of mocha.
Yup."You'll definitely need to have a security system throughout the building. Tie the system with the phoneline. Something an uncle of mine did. "I-I'm... a-all e-ears.."
Keith nodded.
"I do. Get broadband internet access for the restaurant. You only need one modem. Get a hub and a bunch of ethernet routers so you can hook up other computers in the restaurant. The monthly fee for the monthly access is an immediate tax write-off. The computers are tax deductable as well," Keith explained.
He would wait for Winters to get that information in his head.
"With the broadband connection, get Vonage. The broadband phone service. It'll hook up to your broadband connection," Keith added.
"Do you have a home office?"

OOC: Fast post. Trying to keep up with stuff. ...Lack Of Good Internet. The consulter nodded. "I do. Get broadband internet access for the restaurant. You only need one modem. Get a hub and a bunch of ethernet routers so you can hook up other computers in the restaurant. The monthly fee for the monthly access is an immediate tax write-off. The computers are tax deductible as well." Mmm... monthly fees. Internet. Well, it looked about a right time to upgrade from his 56k modem to Cable, anyways. His notes continued onward.."With the broadband connection, get Vonage. The broadband phone service. It'll hook up to your broadband connection." Vonage, eh?"Do you have a home office?" ...
His house was essentially devoid of all electronics, save basic needs.."..N-No."

"..N-No."
Good thing Winters hired him for a consultation. Now the next step was talking about a personal office in the home. Keith took another sip of his iced mocha and finished it up.
"Can I get another one?" Keith asked the waitress that passed by.
He turned back towards Winters and began to give his next explanation.
"With a business like this. Not a bad idea to get a home office rigged up. It's tax deductable. As long it's all business related. You can write off everything in the office such as the TV, computer, printer, fax machine, phones, the printer paper, even the paper clips and staples," Keith explained.
"As long as everything is related to work in that office."
