Introducing the team (Squad Training)

"Uh. I don't think it was literally ripped out. He just pointed at my chest and I got these."

Though the shadowy mass that exploded outward was something he was still a little worried about.

"The Director did it, though he said it came with a great risk. He summoned those of us that had the strongest hearts to give us this choice."

[Kaia Galanos]

Her eye-lids lower like she's unimpressed by something before whispering to herself.

"'Must not have a strong heart..."

She'd believe it. Or she missed the memo. It's probably a weak heart though.

"A pity. I'd have liked to see what my heart held. Sounds useful. At least one of the three of us has one."

And it sounded like it didn't just benefit one person when he did use it.

[Cain Rhamos]

Oh. Okay.

Well... it made sense. He didn't really think he had a particularly strong heart to begin with, it must be nothing compared to the kinds of people who usually show up here.

"It's good.... support?"

Or something.

[Caelan Xander]

"It's possible if you ask him he will let you try. But he says it only has a twenty-five percent chance of working without killing you or something bad happening because of it."

What was going to happen because of him had yet to be seen. He'd nod to Lann's question, however. "Let me show you."

His knuckles glowed white before a burst of energy surrounded Lann!

Lann gains +18 Perception!

Not good odds. She'd have to ponder it.

She gives Cael some space when he intends to demonstrate, putting her beaker down and pulling out a pen and paper to write down what she sees.

"Burst of white light. Energy. Subject is now...?"

She stares at Lann to see what changed.

Lann's eyes go wide at the newfound feeling. He could see so much clearer! Hear so much better!

Smell...

He slowly looks at Faye.

Cael doesn't know what it enhances so per person, only that it shores up their weaknesses. So he'd follow Lann's gaze to Faye.

[Kaia Galanos]

Faye's eyes go from boy to boy, before stopping on Lann.

"Please report."

[Cain Rhamos]

"Uh...u-uhm...."

Shit. What's a polite way to put this.

"There's...a....uh... there's an... odor? Coming... from your... uh.... direction."

[Caelan Xander]

Cael took a deep inhale, he hadn't paid attention to it before but he could smell it now.

"I've smelt worse."

That would make her feel better.

[Kaia Galanos]

At first she wonders if he's smelling something in particular near her...since he's not necessarily saying SHE'S the smelly one.

But Cael's comment makes her think otherwise.

She stares blankly for a moment before scribbling something down then looking up again.

"I am mortified." she says, sounding and looking anything but.

[Cain Rhamos]

"I didn't mean to!"

Lann looks from Faye to Cael, pretty surprised that the larger man had just... gone along with it.

"Right? It's not like..."

Uhhh....

He looks back to Faye.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to be mean..."

[Caelan Xander]

"Would it help matters if I bolstered your heart instead?"

[Kaia Galanos]

"No." she says, narrowing her eyes at Lann.

"Both of you tell me something embarrassing about yourselves. It's only fair."

[Cain Rhamos]

"I peed the bed when I was fifteen."

He's fully intimidated.
