Oni accepted the fruit cup from Stevie. She nodded "Thank you."
"I do agree with that for sure. I might learn a thing or two watching the both of you. I also need to practice with my key." she looked at Stevie touching a finger to her chin thinking. "I think I know what pond you mean... Though maybe I am thinking off he one that leads off from a waterfall?" she wanted to be sure.

Ali hadn't done a thing with her key other than summon it, like that one time at band camp.
"If the pond helps you, we can certainly start there today." S he nodded as Oni asked which one, given how far out th training grounds were spread. "I don't have a preference, myself, though I imagine your experience and time here would also come in handy." She peeled part of the flesh of the fruit away and took a small break to finish eating it.
"Regardless of who has what experience though, we will all need to adapt. We can meet there in, say, an hour?"

Stevie smiled at Oni then nodded.
“Yep, that’s the one.”
Looking at Ali she’d beam.
“Yes that sounds like a great plan. I uhm, I haven’t practiced with mine either.”
She felt a bit guilty about it too. Like she had been granted this super awesome thing, but she didn’t use it.

Oni gave an excited nod to the two.
"Sounds like a wonderful place to start at least!"

Ali didn't feel guilty in teh slightest.
"It might be best if we try them as a secondary focus. I understand not all of us are adept with our weapons yet, but they were given to us to bring us balance and a chance at the upcoming exams."

Stevie was decently excited, though now was a good time to remember her body was nearly covered in blood.
“Aw crap.”
She looked down at herself. Welp, this’ll suck.
”Meh, I’ll rinse off before we start. It’ll be fine.”

"I have not heard much about these exams except for what Mr. Asiv has spoken about... And rumors, lots of rumors. Frankly it sounds less of an exam and more of an underground Qi-beast fight pit." which is the kind of thing Oni incredibly dislikes and looks down upon. Qi beasts caught and starved, quelled to obedience and shoved in with the next viciously hungry beast and betted on to fight until one dies.
"Then again... Tournaments are fun." She shrugged. "I guess difference being we'd have a choice in the matter."

"Mmmmm." Ali made a thoughtful sound of discontent. It wasn't a bad train of thought, honestly.
"Well, Prota is known for their soul gems, are they not? Anything is possible. We should do our best to be prepared." She would pick up the remains of the peel as she finished, rising to her feet since Stevie was already talking about cleaning up.
"Give we are no longer fighting just one of the Big Four, it may be exactly that, only with people, given certain reputations. I will see you both at the lake."

Stevie didn’t like the idea either. Sounding similar to a dog fight, only worse. She grimaced and polished off her fruit. It just wasn’t right when people thought made good entertainment.
“It’s true.”
Stevie half sighed and picked the tuna salad sammich, taking a big bite.
“I’ll meet y’all in an hour then.”
She too stood.
“Pleasure to meet you both.”
Stevie would turn and leave for her dorm and the prospect of a long shower.

Oni would stay and wave to the other two writing down notes on what she thought was important to this encounter she'd only leave aftet ahe finished the fruit cup Stevie-rae was so kind enough to share with her. She'd ready herself for the occasion.
When it came time she would be warmed up and limber. Her own body needed to get back in shape. Her own amount of muscle was almost nil. But ahe wasn't entirely squishy. Suppose she was lean and healthy in her frame.

Ali waited for the others to arrive at the training field, stretching by the pond they had decided to use for the time being. She nodded at Oni when she caught sight of her. Her body had the tone of one used to battle, though scarring was minimal on her. She had her sword resting in its sheathe should they choose not to rely on just their keyblades, but she found herself curious to see what they would bring to this as a whole.
"Good afternoon." There was one, at least. Oni. It was still unusual to see her with horns, though less jarring. Probably easier to work with than a bunch of wings, too.

Stevie rested for a long time in the shower. It was so very nice. Although the bloodied water going down the drain wasn’t what she liked to see. Shrugging, she continued to clean her wounds, noticing they seemed to be getting better by the minute. Toxins? Maybe. Stevie stepped out of the shower, dried off, got dressed, and headed for the training field. Once there she grinned at the other two.
“Hello, ladies!”

Oni jumped down from the tree she was climbing as Ali approached.
"Hoi!" and Stevie-rae was not far behind her with a wave ahe greeted them both. "So I had a thought on how to begin." she raised a finger. "This one question... What is your ideal battle situation? On what field and under what circumstances help you to optimize your ability? Long or short range, one on one... And so on. By the way this will go in my own notes about you all if that is okay?" she couldn't help but show she was a bit excited.

"Hello again." Ali nodded to the others as the group gear near, noticing the enthusiasm all around. It was a good sign, and Oni's suddenly attention to the scenario was a surprise. She wasn't acting as she had before when they'd trained. She seemed more energetic and ready to tackle the idea as a problem in need of a solution, which she could understand and appreciate well enough.
"I work best in the melee, regardless of where we fight." Her eyes narrowed slightly. "I suppose it depends on what your notes are for." Some people worked best mapping things out visually, so perhaps it was that. Otherwise, she could have a collection of information, that would do her no good on the field if she didn't use it.

Stevie maintained her smile as she listened to the others.
“I do really good at close combat, however if I need to attack from afar, I can and have. My water abilities allow for a ranged attack and I’m strong, so there’s that.”
Stevie didn’t mean to sound boastful, just informative.
