Stevie blinked at the attack and Oni stopping it, a slow smile creeping over her lips.
“Listen to her, kitty-cat. I wouldn’t want to hurt you. Besides, I’m trying to help here. You don’t wanna be part of this squad, then don’t let the door hit you ass on the way out.”
Her tone was even, barely menacing. The water would shudder in place, begging for action.
“Oni, do you want to try that attack again?”

Ali's gaze flicked to Oni for half a second, wondering where this rush of empathy came from, but Stevie's coy little pet name had her full atention, eys flashing vivid fire in her rage as she drew her keyblade and held it level to the girls' throat.
"Let me be clear - I do not take orders from anyone who has not shown they have earned the right. If we are indeed a team, then i would highly advise you participate and provide suggestions, rather than dictating the field while you watch and do nothing but make the water dance." She all but spat at the brunette's feet.
"Sorry if your idea of a sneak attack didn't go quite as planned." She rolled her eyes at Oni. "And stop with the hurt puppy eyes. They'd get you killed on the field like that."

So Stevie-rae also wants to lead. Oni let out a heavy sigh. this is going to be an ordeal and she could see that, so she spoke up. "This is not going to work, out not like this. I barely just got a team I don't want to see it fall apart before it gets together. So what you two are going to do, you were going to battle it out to see who is going to call the shots for us. Because somebody has to whether it be the former time officer or a formal battle expert from Territory 63. I will not be participating in this matchup between the two of you however I will be swinging my big hulking blade, just to shake things up a bit. Whoever is still standing at the end we'll have an indisputable claim to lead us and when that happens that is the end of it. I am staying out of this except to keep you both on your toes, and once it is sorted we can start over. Is this agreeable?"
They were going to sort their differences before comming together it seemed. Heads are going to but and she expected this. Ali has surprised her with her outburst and Stevie-rae surprised her with the automatic lead. Both however are military women and deciding ranks now the tiefling will predict this will end up settling into a better place.

Stevie felt the smile tug at her lips. She was all too happy to get her hands dirty, so long as Princess Fussy-Pants wouldn’t cry about it anymore.
”I’m game. Sound good to you, Princess?”

Of course the response was immediately to take their problem to the field and fight it out.
“No.” Allison shook her head, nostrils flaring in disgust as the keyblade dissipated. The girl had shown more of a cooperative role in those five seconds by coming to Stevie’s defense than she had seen in her time with the brunette, the girl who took pleasure in being able to trounce others after they pushed her buttons or provoked her. Someone who was not in control, who was just as much a nobody as the rest of them, by her own words. Being at Cabal longer than them didn’t change that; her name was nowhere to be found to show she was a leader at some point, someone who could do what needed to be done.
Instead, this same girl who thought to talk down to her, call her pet names and try the same tactic on her. See if Allison would do the same thing that Stevie herself had done.
Savages.
“If you think physical might is what makes a leader, then this squad is already doomed. Any bully can swing their fists; I would assume both of you are capable of more than that.” All Stevie seemed to want to do was stoke the fires and get off on the adrenaline. How was she to trust in that? If their group’s “leader” was only going to insult and belittle them, then they weren’t a leader. Any hope of trust would already be little more than dust. Apparently both girls needed that lesson, and no amount of fisticuffs, bumps, or bruises would do anything but prove Ali right.
So far, the only thing she saw was that they were just like the others back home, more than happy to fall in line so long as it benefited them and they got what they wanted. Last time, she had beaten them at their own game. If she had to do the same here, she would.
"If I wanted to be talked down to by some harpy who thought she was better than everyone else, I'd have stayed at home."

Oni burried her face in her palms."shoot! No! That is not what that means... Not what I was trying to do." she cleared her hands as she tried to think. It would be quickly spiraling out of control. It is like getting a new D&D game together all over again while more than one person is *"such pro and DM'ing"*
"Look strength isn't number one on the list of leadership roles but it is important. Just as such as tactical prowess. AND keeping your head cool. You can't come up and expect people to follow with out proof of the pride, loyalty, and expertise you expect from your team."
She blew an exasperated curl from her face. "Shoot why are the two of you even listening to me. It's not like I am your leader. Do either of you have a better idea, because just calling it does not make you *it*."

Stevie rolled her eyes, only just realizing her water had dropped again.
“Well then, Allison, what do you want?”
She’d grin again.
“Shall we draw straws?”
She let the smile drop.
“Oni is right on at least one point, however, commanding a team takes a lot. BUT how can we decided based on those things? WE DONT EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER. Loyalty? Honor? Respect? Please. We do one training session and I suggest something small. RATHER SMALL. And you, Allison, have a complete meltdown. So do tell, how do we decide on a leader?”
She’d let all she had said seap in. Stevie was pissed, but hearing Oni had at least calmed her enough to think through the threats and head poundings she wanted to give Ali for being so fucking dumb.

“Actually, Oni, you have the right idea.” At least one of them was getting it. As glad as she was one of them understood, however, it was clear Stevie thought with her fists first. It made her eye twitch. Ali snorted and shook her head, ignoring the dizziness that crept up in her vision with the motion.
“I already know enough about your idea of respect – or lack of it. Tell me, how am I supposed to respect someone who starts throwing pet names like I’m something for them to mock? Why should I listen to anyone who immediately treats a teammate that way? Why should anyone want to care or get to know you if baiting is your response? What we need is for you to knock it off,” she snapped. “You offer suggestions and do nothing yourself. At least Oni jumped to your defense when she thought you were in trouble, and I’ve seen her work to become better even when she is at a disadvantage – all from one meeting, just like what I saw of you before this training session now.” Her chin rose as she squared her shoulders, eyes narrowing.
“It doesn’t work if we aren’t able to provide feedback for what you can’t see yourself, as well. If you want respect, earn it.” She gave an irritated sigh and shook her head. She couldn’t believe she had to spell this out, but some people were that way. She would try to adapt.
“If you’re unable to do anything else on the field because you need to focus while you use your abilities, we need to know, because someone has to have your back, especially if you prefer the melee. But if you think you’ll have some uneven advantage over your own ability we won’t consider or are intimidated by it, then knock it off and show us what you’re capable of, because all we can see right now is that you’re good at making bubbles dance.”
Her opinion had dropped from mild irritation to thinking Stevie was a simpleton, and now was bordering on equal to a Neanderthal who had been dropped on her head as a baby. She couldn’t believe she had to explain this. In detail. Multiple times. At this rate, she was better off teaching a brick wall to grow wings.

"Thank you both for that at least." they pointed out her valid point but it wasnt enough for them. "Please, No one go anywhere too far but keep working this out..."
Oni decided to shimmy up a tree and perch herself away from this. She did say they can battle it out. Not sure if this was the right way but it isn't much different. However she needed a moment.
She would ponder a way to solve the matter... Carefully.

Stevie balled her fists ready to fight. Again, Oni’s words brought a slim ray of light in and, as usual for her, it helped her to think a bit more clearly. She took another deep breath and sat in the grass. There maybe now it would be easier to talk. It was harder to fight if she was sitting. Another breath.
“Alright look. I call you names because you aren’t listening. Please let me get this out.”
It was hard to keep her words calm and clear with Ali’s words constantly shooting through her mind.
“I am not hitting my own water because I know exactly how much I can do to it. I don’t figure that would help. I tried some focus points on you two because I want to help. And then there is you. I have you one point to try and you completely blew a gasket. But I’m the one with anger issues because I used a bad name? You threw a hit at me because I suggested an action. But I’m the one who is bad. Take a good long look in the mirror sweetie. I may have hit someone who decided to literally cut into my already healing wounds, but you decided to hit because of something I said.”
Stevie let out another breath and actually started feeling better. Odd.

Since Stevie was apparently taking a moment to chill, Ali would let the girl speak, raising a brow as she explained why she called her names - the reasons of a child. She crossed her arms and let the other girl speak her mind, however, snorting at the end but again, letting her speak. Then it seemed it was her turn. She threw Oni a glance as she chilled up in a tree at what was assumed to be a safe distance, then turned to attention back to Stevie.
"Let me be clear, you still have to knock off the name calling if you want to be considered anything more than a child." She shrugged and held up a hand, indicating she wasn't done.
"We all have wounds. You're not the only one on the field right now who's injured - I will take responsibility for the fact I could have said no to this until at least one of us was better." Her jaw tightened. "I don't know what your experience is, but I've already been in battles. War. I trained to fight as a soldier, which means I have to be able to know you have our backs and will be able to do what is needed if the time comes. What you're showing me? Is the kind of dictatorship that people do when they're not on the front lines and let those lower than them take the hits. Because that's where I come from. The disposable are made very clear that they are exactly that: fodder. Until you bothered to stop and listen, you were just like those a dime a dozen back home. If I want someone who's going to treat me like I'm less than them - whatever the reason - I don't have to be here for it. I don't have to stay for it. "
The anger felt like it was stalling as she rolled her shoulders, jaw tightening further as she bit back a grimace.
"I believe it would be best for all of us if we took our training to the dummies, then, instead."

"That is a decent thought. Hashing out ourselves on the dummies instead of ourselves." while they spoke she had rummaged through her back back which was dangling on a trimmed nub of the branch she was lounging on. She might have an idea.
"We can also... Play a game to almost test us mentally while we are at it?!" She held up a pair of D20's for them to see! She beamed with excitement on the thought! "Three rounds of chance and see who reaps the greatest of rewards or the pain of the loses."

[[OOC: Sorry guys. Been searching for muse]]
Stevie looked up and shot daggers at Ali with her eyes. This girl and her high horses were almost all she could handle. Blah, blah, blah look at me. Blah, blah, blah I'm better than you. Blah, blah, blah.
"Ok, Hon-- Ali. I get what I have been doing wasn't the greatest in tactics but honestly, neither was yours. YOU ATTACKED ME! If that's your leadership style, I don't want to work with you either."
Stevie looked at the dice and held back a grimace.
"Dice? Do you intend to gamble?"
Stevie lurched to her feet, stared at Ali for half a second and moved to the wooden dummy. She only brought one. Let the others find their own. They didn't want her help fine. She didn't need anyone before and she sure as hell didn't need anyone now. Especially not some uptight bitch who thought she was better than everyone else as well as above her own law.

At least she was trying. Stevie went from being utterly ignored when she started to use another pet name to a slight look of acceptance and a hint of a nod. It didn't take much to see how the redhead took to the idea of losing, but thankfully Oni was able to pull their attention away from teh squabble that made both of them sound like children as she offered up the chance to roll dice.
"And what are these gains and losses?" she asked with a raised brow as she turned towards Oni. This was not something she expected from her other squadmate, but she was still intruiged.

"Ah... Yes and no." was her answers to Stevie's question.
"Think of them as points for bragging rights." she pulled up a notebook from her bag. "In here I have scenario's writen up and I will basically ask them to you and you create yourself and how you handle the situation." she made her hands rotate at the wrist. It was as if she was reeling in the right words to use. "Think of it like a video game with multiple choices that lead to multiple endings. Sound fun?"
