Stevie’s brow raised.
“A video game? I don’t play those, but I suppose if it helps I can give it a try.”
She tried making her face pleasant. Didn’t work. Crap.
“How do you start?”

"So basically we are characters in as scenario you create and adjust as a third party." Storytelling at its finest. Ali pauses for a moment, then gives a slight shrug and an even tinier nod. She doesn't really care, but if it gets the point across, then so be it. Besides, it was a welcome distraction.
"Very well. Let's begin."

A short giggle escaped her lips. A shot of excitement she could not contain before getting herself under control.
"Okay!" she pointed to the test dummies. "To start off... A pauper looking fellow comes to you. He lifts hus cup asking for one coin, of any value will do... As he lifts his arm you see a solid gold wrist watch hanging losely like it was too big for him."
She looked at the two and rolled th dice in her fingers.
"What is your move?"

Stevie couldn’t help the smile that crosses her face over Oni’s delighted squeal. And then she painted a picture. Hmm.
“I believe I’d be rather taken aback. I know what it is to live with nothing. Upon seeing the watch I would ask about it. Perhaps I’d even leave a few coins. Maybe see if he’s honest or not.”
‘Hello. I see that you are in need but what is this watch you have?’
I put two five dollar bills in his cup.

"Mmmm, I would offer to buy him food, then offer cash if it's easier for him. Ten dollars does sound about right." She shrugged, trying not to thik about the fact she and Stevie had about the same starting idea.
"I'd talk to him, like he were anyone else. Find out his story, give him a chance to breathe and feel like a person. And then I would ask about the watch. It could be stolen, it could be he's lost a lot of weight if he's been without home, or food, for a while." She shifted, going quiet for a second. She remembered the ache in her stomach on nights like that, when they had a roof over their heads but less to fill them with. Wondering if they could keep the roof. Wondering if they would have medicine, basic needs met, if exhaustion would mean passing out while in the middle of your work.
"The watch could have sentimental value. It could be all he has left of what was a better time in life, or a loved one."

"Alright easy answer then. You each give him a good sum and ask him about his watch... He tells you...
I was a wealthy and powerful man once but when my late wife died I just got rid of all of it except this watch. And the cruel world dragged me under further. I lost weight and it hardly fits but I cant get rid of it."
"So he tells you this story and what next?"

Stevie thinks for a moment.
“What do I see in his eyes. Eyes are the window to the soul, ya know. I suppose if I see honesty, then I’d try and help more. If I don’t see honesty, then I’d leave him with the ten dollars.”
She shrugged. This game was an odd one. Why would someone base a game on what-ifs?

"I watch him." She shrugged. "If he looks away or tries to withdraw, body language can tell just as much." She sighed and shook her head. "Depending on his tale, he may need a listening ear, or something else to help him get on his feet.
"Either way, the money is his. If he lies, it's my lesson to learn."

"Well you both are being surprisingly civil and nice. You see no lie here and no indication to see that this man is anything he isnt." she peeked in her notes.
"He waves good bye and goes on his day. And the next morning he is suddenly before you as you are on your way its as if he knew where you'd be... An ambush or coincidence? He asks you the same, one coin and nothing more."
She started thinking about their previous answers. They had their own and good reasons to be truly civil but their previous actions in the current situation at hand was not at all adding up to their current personal choices. Oni had a finger over her lips as she was thinking it through.

Stevie blinked. This game was too weird.
“How is this helping to train?”
She sighed and sat down again. This was stupid. Stevie had decided to try her best to get along with these weirdos.
I’d wave at him and give him another $10. But after he left, I’d follow him at a distance to see what he was doing all day. I need to be certain. I don’t like being made a fool of.
‘Here you go, I hope your life gets easier.’

Ali frowned at the description and shook her head.
"I'd wonder how he appeared out of nowhere, and how. I'd give him an appropriate coin - something of value." She frowned even more. "I'd ask him his name as I do, though. If I can follow, that's one thing. If he vanishes, then at least i have that."
She's starting to suspect something about this story.

"He gives you his name... Guizamo. Thanks you and turns to leave." she rolled the dice in her hands and let them roll on the floor. The dice role was low. "You meet each other for the first time at the end of an alley way right there a trap springs and you fall through the ground. The man you both were looking for was no where to be seen. In the same manner he appeared it seemed he also disappeared."
"Next thing you know the two of you are in a cell you have everything available to you currently."
She looked at the two women. "We have started our game now..."
"In an old underground cell. It has been used as illegal slave trafficing since old... OLD times. Before the war and many others of our past. You see across from you more cells with two or three per and on each side of you separated by solid wall would be more cells. Well, say about six total... Looking like twenty, men, women, and even children. The dim lighting was connected though weak crystals powering not just to light up the room but all your current strengths are reduced by half."
"Your move." she would tell them. "Oh if you are bored of this it might help that you dont let me interrupt you practicing your forms or whatever on he dummies and things."

Stevie frowned and stood. She made her way to the tree and sat against it.
"I still don't see how this helps us train."
Stevie sighed again. This game was really annoying.
"What do you mean everything is available currently?"
Stevie would get up again, not happy with sitting around and start at a dummy.

"I would assume you have more for us than just the clothes on our backs." Irritated with the story's turn but also feeling that following Stevie's lead - and not at all the fact Allison herself was suspicious or anything like that. How dare you? - was a bad choice had been proven, Ali was willing to play along a little more. For now.
She watched as Stevie hacked at the dummy, shifting again. It felt odd to be sitting here, playing a game, not working, but she was still humoring Oni's idea for the time being.

"Your Qi and your weapons right now are what you have. However cut their potency in half." she scratched her curls. "This isn't helping us with training. Ali just about gutted you obviously thinking it was wrong that you were directing me about earlier. And you obviously dont see her fit to tell you what to do. So no this isnt training. Its a mental senario where the two of you may or may not be able to either work as a team or accept one to to take charge."
