Things were going well for their new home, all things considered.  63 was progressing at a pace that was far better than what her own people had, not to mention the small bit she'd seen before being escorted to see the previous Elder.  With her partner being the new Elder, however, she knew Blake had more time on his hands than before with the hard labor, and with some of her own people here now and more on the way, they were able to see what sort of tech advancements could be made for all.

Which, for now, meant the the Personal Tools.  It was a normal part of life for her, and had felt weird not having hers at Cabal.  Now, however, she had her own and one of the Cabal standards to help with her lessons for Blake so he could get used to what was available and learn the basics.  It wouldn't do any good to have outside territories see him unfamiliar with what his people had, to create weakness or destroy the image he had built.  Not to mention, it as going to be a part of the teritory's utilities.

So she'd gone to look for him and find a space where they could work while they had time!

[Blake Oleander]

Blake was away from the bustle of the territory sitting under a tree in thought, several birds perched on his shoulder as a squirrel chittered around on top of his head. A momma deer and her baby eating only a few feet from him as he sat motionless among the animals.

Bailey stopped immediately at the sight of Blake surrounded by animals that were utterly at peace with his being there, even babies and mothers at rest. She smile at the sight, unexpected and, in some way, not surprised. Blake was pretty good at remaining composed, and out here, there was peace. Until she showed up and interrupted his meditations. Again.

She chuckled, content to remain as she was for the moment. She figured too much movement or a loud soudn would scare them all away, regardless of if he was aware of her presence.

However, Blake and the animals noticed Bailey when she appeared and she'd find them all quickly scattering until Blake was alone with her in the clearing. He'd open an eye and look at her, slowly getting up and brushing himself off.

"Yes?"

"Sorry. One of these days, I'll manage to find a way not to interrupt you like this." She wished she could say she expected otherwise, but at this point it was almost as regular part of life. Bailey remained where she was as the animals scattered like a whisper on the wind. Still, she stepped towards him as he rose to his feet.

"I thought you might like to take a look at one of our personal tools, if you'd like. I could show you how they work and what you can do with them."

Since it would look bad on an Elder to not know what his people were capable of, and it would become a mainstay as more people from her original territory joined them.

He nodded and closed the distance between them.

"I would love to learn."

[Bailey Oleander]

"Excellent." His words brought an enthusiastic smile to her face as they closed the distance, nodding as she pulled out both her own tool as well as one of the Cabal versions.

"I figured I'd bring one of Cabal's for now until we saw how much we might need to adjust a fitting for yours and anything you might want personally." She would hand him the prototype, not mentioning that at least it would be tech he might find similar on sight since it wasn't modified. She was prepared to go through this as slowly as she needed to.

"They run off the body's energies, so even those without qi powers can use them."

He had literally never used one of these before. Even at his time at Cabal. He'd just hold it like it was something gross and stare at it before attempting to slowly, very slowly put it on.

"What is it for though?"

[Bailey Oleander]

"Quite a few things, really. You can store information on there, like you would something on paper, but it holds a lot more and takes less space." She would stand across from him as she put hers on as well, leading by example as she took it slower than she would on her own.

"You can send messages to other people, look into research or information you'd have to go to other territories to find, or scan yourself and others. Items, too. We've used it for medical scans in the past, and to monitor other issues and areas."

[Blake Oleander]

"Okay..."

He'd stare at it.

"How?"

[Bailey Oleander]

"Just flick your wrist, like this." Bailey would show the motion and step closer, taking a look at the setup he had.

"How does it feel? It should be a snug fit. There won't really be any extra weight added to it."

[Blake Oleander]

"It feels fine..."

He'd flick his wrist like she showed, feeling super dumb.

[Bailey Oleander]

"Good." She'd come to stand beside him instead, her smile turning wry for a moment, her index finger hovering over the display.

"I know it feels silly at first, but after you'll be able to activate it with a thought after you're more familiar with it.

"This is your home screen. You can lock it, of course, but most people understand not to use tools that aren't their won." Meaning if he wanted to keep political or other sensitive information, he could without some random person picking it up. She would let a finger hover above her own screen.

"These are your basic programs. You have a way to record documents you or other people's writings. You can keep records, and send messages to others with these tools or access to similar technology with this one." She pointed to the next icon, tapping it to activate the message system and pull up the screen. The most recent one on her screen was the one with her family's records that her mother had sent.

"Why wouldn't you lock it?"

That seemed common sense if you had private stuff on it. He'd be more focused on his display than hers. So he'd not noticed the records of her family on her display. He was trying to divine which application did what.

[Bailey Oleander]

"That's what I said." She chuckled. "They learn to keep it that way pretty quickly."

The app wasn't for her personal records, so much as being able to show him different settings and what they look like. Since they were focused on the messenger one, she started there.

"This list is the messages that you've received, and aren't deleted until you choose to do so." Her finger slowly slid up along the bar, letting the messages scroll with them as she indicated different icons.

"The blue bubble here means it's a new massage. The purple arrow means that you've responded to them." She would slowly go over other functions of the app, answering questions he may have.
