Afternoon was fading into evening as Tina crouched on the branch of a tree, blue eyes wide as she peered into the cafeteria window from her perch. There was her target, oblivious to her presence once again as they ate a salad, or something. It was hard to be sure with the reflection in the glass. She frowned as she bit into a chocolate chip cookie in one hand, tinfoil tiara askew as she watched her new person of interest. The last one had been a right dick after she'd fallen into Mathew's room. Apparently, exploding floors were too much for him.
This one, however, would be different. She could feel it. So much, in fact, that she didn't pay attention to the crumbs falling to the ground, tiara slipping until it, too, fell to the ground.
"Atrocious," she declared, reaching out to snatch the cheap trinket before it hit the ground. She hung by a leg and a hand from the branch, fingertips barely brushing against it as it landed on the ground.
"DAMNIT." The world was so unfair.

David's voice came from behind her, the new King floating outside.
"Nice Tiara."
He wore his own crown and stared at the small woman, a grin floating across his face.

"Well yeah, it's mine," she responded without missing a beat, making a face at the man behind her despite the familiar voice. She wobbled for a moment, the hand dropping from the branch to try and reach for the tiara. Upside down, David looked about the same, just sleek and now sporting a shiny circlet that caught her attention.
"YOU!" She pointed dramatically at the new King, pausing for a second as she eyed him and the blood started draining to her head.
"Nice tiara." She gave a nod of approval.

"Well yeah, it's mine."
He would drift up to another branch and sit. Tina would hear some shouts in the distance.
"My guards are looking for me. You don't mind if I hide out with you, do you?"
David missed being here. Adventuring with the tiny walking atom bomb. He used to think of this place as a prison....but it was nothing compared to ruling a kingdom.

Tina grinned up at him as he returned her sass. She pulled herself up into the branches, looking over her shoulder as a couple of shouts from the distance. She scoffed at the mention of guards, apparently a part of his entourage.
"Sure." She stood up on the branch, one hand on the trunk as she prepared to jump. "Let's go!"
Because she is totally fine with running and finding a new spot.

He brought both eyebrows up.
"Alright then. Lead the way."
He'd stand to follow!

Unceremoniously, Tina jumped from the branch with a soft "oof," hopping up with a cackle and nodding towards the main building.
"To the roof!" She would nod in the general direction and start skirting around to the side of the building and expecting David to follow after.

Standing, David began to climb alongside his former protege, willing to indulge her for the sake of his short return. He'd move with some ease but let her stay in the lead- though to be honest, she climbed like a monkey herself, easily clambering about from what he could see.
"And where to from the roof?"

Tina would shrug, but look up with a thoughtful hum as she looked for what could be closest.
"There are lots of hiding places inside. You might be kinda tall for some of 'em." She kept lead, nodding as she confirmed her own thoughts.
"'less you wanna fly. Or we could try the training grounds." Considering what happened last time.

He'd let out a hum, before speaking again.
"Do you think I abandoned this place, Tina?"
He kept his hands in his pockets, watching her as they moved along the roof.

Tina's steps would continue without missing a beat as she let out a thoughtful hum of her own, mirroring the sound David had just made.
"I 'unno, did you? Cuz that seems more important that what I think." She hadn't heard much about the situation, herself, just that there was a disagreement and the Dragon went to his personal territory and became King. So maybe that meant he had left it.
She shrugged, balancing on one foot along the roof.
"People always leave. That's just how it is. Even if you don't mean to."

"Mm. I didn't- but to others, it would seem so." He sighed.
"Asiv and I disagreed on how to run this place- and he stepped in. That's life, but to many students it might feel like their supervisor promised one thing and did another." He stared at the back of her head. "Even those students who might have thought he cared for them."

Tina made a noise of agreement at other people thinking David had just up and left. Frankly, she had been one of them, though she didn't say it as much. He was a Dragon. He'd get over not being the idol of the academy - they had been before, right? She gave a grunt of acknowledgement as she felt him staring at her, boring a hole in teh back of her head.
Sighing, she pulled a marble out of a pouch and hurled it out into the yard of Cabal, hopefully distracting the guards as she stepped back and let the boom happen mid-air.
"Well yeah. Not like many people know what happened or whatever." Including her. But the fact she admitted to an interest was something in and of itself.

There were shouts, and the guards bought it hook line an sinker! They took off, and David watched, before eyeing Tina again. She was always difficult to understand and connect with. And it wasn't like he was easy to relate to.
"If you wanted to know, I'd be willing to explain." He gave a small smile as he took a seat, sitting against the small lip of wall the roof had around it. That wasn't something he'd be willing to offer others. Whether she believed it or not, he wasn't like the other Dragons. Like a black sheep, David was a Dragon but didn't click in the same way Mathew and Leon did. It was just reality. And he actually did care about the people here.
It's why Neo was doing what he was.

Tina smirked at the explosion, her expression growing more smug as the guards went off in hte direction of the damage. Like taking candy from a baby, but easier.
She eyed David warily as he mentioned be willing to talk about the reason he had left. She held the expression for a moment before giving a single nod and flopping down into a sitting position, one knee bent and her arm resting across it.
"Mkay, let's here it."
