Melanie blew her nose and tossed the tissue on the pile next to her. Her hand rose from her lap and she ran it over the face of the tombstone. Today would be different that any other. Which was something to say since every Saturday she was here doing the same thing. Another tear fell into her lap. She didn't bother to wipe them away anymore. She was finally resigned to them, and her father's fate. Melanie let her fingers trace her fathers name again. Only this time she didn't let her hand fall back into her lap. She pushed her palm over his name and pulled vines over the headstone until they formed a large heart with a bloomed pink chrysanthemum in the center. Then Melanie dropped her hand and sighed.
"Hi dad. It's me again. No, I'm fine. Everything will be alright. I'm sorry I haven't spoken to you much. It's been really hard you know? I made this flower for you. I know mom would love it. I uhm. I have a boyfriend. He's really nice. I think you'd like him. He used to be the Kracken, but then he died. But don't worry, he's not still dead. I kind of made a deal where I asked Hades to bring him back. I know how crazy it all sounds. I feel like I might be nuts already. Trust me, Daddy. He's really awesome. He's not the Kracken anymore because 'The Kracken' died. But his NEW body is alive. I know it sounds really confusing, but trust me, it's not."
Another tear hit her legs and she took in a deep shakey breath. When she spoke her voice shook with emotion.
"I'm going to move on Daddy. I';m so sorry, but i can't keep holding on to this grudge. It's been over two years and I just can't Daddy. I love you and I'll still come to see you."
Her hand fell back to her lap with a thump.
"I wish you didn't have to die. I wish none of it had happened."
Melanie stood up and smiled back down at the grave.
"I'll see you later, Daddy. I love you."

Rai would be in the graveyard, visiting those apprentices he himself had lost... While he was there he overheard a young woman crying and talking to someone, normally he would keep to him self in these situations but... something pulled at him, and he would walk over to the young woman.
"Letting go is the hardest part... Isn't it. I'm sorry for your loss."
He would say bowing his head in respect.

Melanie turned and almost bumped into the man.
“Oh, uhm. Yes. It really is.”
She looked up... and up... and up.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to disturb you... but I got the sense that you might could use someone to talk to, if I'm mistaken I will promptly leave you be."
Rai wanted to help, but he didn't want to intrude.

Melanie blinked.
“No, you’re fine. I was actually about to leave. I wasn’t sure if I’d come back next week or not.”
She wiped a tear from her eye.

Rai would chuckle as he looked off towards the graves he visits.
"Once a week you visit, huh? Far more diligent than I, that's for sure."
He would turn his gaze back to her.
"If you would like we can sit somewhere and talk, get out of this gloomy atmosphere."

Melanie nodded.
“I visit my daddy a lot. I miss him so much. He was stolen from me.”
Her heart was heavy.
“Yeah, lets go. I could use some coffee to warm up.”
This was a ridiculous statement as it was a warm muggy morning, but all the same.

Rai understood the sentiment. He would nod.
"I know of a small place nearby."
He would then motion for her to follow him. He would lead her to a small hole in the wall looking establishment, however inside the furnishing were really quite quaint and there was a very lovely elderly couple that ran the place.
"Oh Welcome master Raikotsu, making another visit to the young ones?"
The old lady would say. Rai would smile and nod.
"I brought a guest with me today. She was visiting her own loss there, and I could think of no better place to come after such an affair."
The little old lady would come up and grab Melanie's hand and hold them gently.
"Oh I'm terribly sorry for you loss deary, if you need anything you let me know. I'll bring it right out to you."

Melanie nodded silently and followed the man. He ked her to a small place with an old couple that knew him by name. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the exchange. When her own hands were taken up, melanie’s eyes welled up again.
“Thank you, black coffee please. If you don’t mind.”
She smiled slightly.

The old Lady would smile and nod, tapping on Melanie's hands. Then she would turn around and hobble off to begin making some coffee fresh.
"Have seat anywhere my dears, I'll bring this right out to you as soon as it is ready."
Rai would motion for Melanie to pick a place to sit where she felt comfortable, if she decline Rai would pick a place at random for them to sit.
"So, you said you were visiting your dad right?"
Rai felt a twinge in his heart as the words came out of his mouth.
"If I may ask... what happened?"

Melanie took the closest seat. It didn’t matter to her where they sat.
“Well, Raikotsu,”
She said the name slowly.
“My name is Melanie. My father was murdered a little more than four years ago.”

"I'm very sorry to hear that... I just lost my father... recently as well. I know how hard a loss like that can hit..."
Rai would say very carefully, really wishing that coffee would hurry up and be on it's way.

Melanie winced.
“Yes. The pain is.... hard to speak of. It feels like there is a huge chunk of you missing. And every time someone says they’re sorry you want to punch them repeatedly and scream ‘you have no clue what you are talking about.’ “
Melanie reached forward and grasped—if she was able— his hand.
“I am sorry this happened to you.”
Her words were clear. ‘But I DO inderstand’

Rai allowed her to grab his hand, and patted her hand.
"Thank you, and same to you. I-"
But before Rai could continue the old lady would be there setting their coffee's on the table along with something wrapped in napkins.
"Coffee black for the young lady, and a coffee with way too much cream and sugar for the young Dragon, and some fresh homemade cookies. Please enjoy, and let me know if either of you need anything else."
Rai would nod.
"Thank you, Nancy, I really appreciate it."
The old lady would just smile and give Rai a wink before waddling off back to the kitchen with her husband. Rai would pick up one of the large sugar cookies.
"Highly recommend trying one of these, their amazing."
He would say as he took a bite of his own.

She said it to both Raikotsu and Nancy.
