Michael looked down at the ground.
"Then they are Lucifers problem to deal with."

She studies him more critically, walking in silence. She felt sorry for the ones who were lost, at least a little, but nodded in the ended up nodding.
“I wouldn’t want to be in their place, but I understand. It’s a risk to you and everyone else if there isn’t some form of protection.”
After a moment’s pause, she asked, “Is my mother one of the faithful?”

Michael would smile warmly at the mention of Ali's mother.
"No, she believed in me sure. But it was more like she believed in people. That in general people didn't want to be cold or hurtful towards each other. She was on her own crusade, to rid the world of fear."
He would kind of chuckle.
"I guess you could say it was I who was the faithful to her."

The turn in conversation was far better than contemplating just what Lucifer did to the fallen. Michael's face practically lit up like a second sun at the mention of her mother. It was sweet.
"She sounds amazing." It also sounded too good to be true. A world without fear. Or, "Hey, Ali, your parents were on their own crusade to make the world a better place. What have you done lately?" Even if it did remind her of her fight back home, scaling invisible ladders so those in lower classes could have a chance at a better life.
"Was that what happened? You lost track of each other during her crusades?"

"There was an attack on the church. Since we were an outskirted faction to the Gods we didn't get any back up. There were seven of us at the time of the attack not including your mother... Your uncle Gabriel, Raphiel, and Abbadon were killed, and the chaos that followed I lost track of her. A faithful used Lucifer's power to find out she was alive and that you were fine. Wherever she went, she had her reasons, knowing she was alive and you were alright was enough for me. When the war ended, I called off asking the faithful to use Lucifer's power, and was never able to find her, or you. Until now."

Ali nodded slowly with the explanation. She recalled the attack being mention of the attack, but had no idea what had caused it or was tied to. Whatever it had been for had killed quite a few, a fact that left Ali silent as they walked. She wasn't even sure if they were technically related by god title or if it was actually by blood.
"I see." Maybe her uncle's power had its benefits sometime, then. It rankled that he had left it at that, but from what Michael had said, it had been a bad time for him to try and raise a kid. Maybe that had something to do with why.

"Let's return to the church."
He'd say as they continued their walk back.
"Did you learn what you wanted to, on this outing?"

Ali nodded in agreement, ready to return as well. She gave a quiet hum at the question before speaking.
"I did." The mage glanced at Michael from the corner of her eye, less nettled and more content with what she had seen. To see what this part of her life might have been, to verify the man who claimed her by blood. To make a difference, in a way that was different from what she would have been able to do back home, and what it meant when she did go back.
"I still have questions, but what happened today was good to see."

Michael would nod, though slowly.
"I know you are entitled to your answers and everything I can answer I will... It is just difficult for me to speak on certain things and relive failures I could not control myself."

Ali nodded, some of hte tension returning to her, but only just. It wasn't something she imagined he'd want to talk about, but she could appreciate his honesty.
"Thank you. I can understand the feeling. Unfortunately, some of them would require finding my mother." Apparently she had answers for both of them.
"For now...I am satisfied. I didn't know what to expect of you or this place when I first came here."

Michael would nod at this and as they reached the Church he would come to a stop.
"Hopefully I did not disappoint you today."

You know it's something when he stops. From what she had seen, Michael definitely wore his heart on his sleeve more than most.
You haven't." The mage slowed to a stop to stand beside him, shaking her head as she looked up at him. "Our introduction wasn't the greatest start, but war is war. You left me with a family that cared for me and whom I care for. I thought you might be simple, ore merely more dedicated to your job than family. But I wouldn't trade the family I have now - or anything - to go back and change it." She looked out around them, at the direction the church lay in.
“I'm not happy about how this came to be, but I understand. Whatever there is now comes from moving forward."

"That makes me happy. I wished beyond hope that you would not have to live with regrets."
He would let out a relieved sigh as he put on a smile.
"Then before you leave, would you join me for some food? I wish to ask you about your life and how you grew up."

“I would like that.” Ali agreed with a hint of content, content to follow Michael back.
They had a lot to catch up on.

Ali has learned from using her Halo the divine element.
While her Halo is on Allison can imbue her weapons or Qi with an element of her choice. By passing any elemental resistance due to the nature of the Halo. This adds 1/2 her energy to whatever is imbued.
