Oh Hey! I Don't Know You! (Open)

[Valerian Blackburn]

During one of his many.... many.... many rounds around Cabal, Valerian is walking about with a drink in hand, hunting for new faces. He didn't really feel like training (he never did), and he sure as hell didn't feel like just sitting in his room, so he's currently working his way through the living area.

He may or may not have had one too many.

[Preston Salabim]

Preston was back in 259 for the exams. All of the leaders of the largest territories were present and many of their protected territory leaders were along for the ride. It was a time not just to compete for the main academies, but to discuss trade, foreign affairs, and how to collectively move forward. Preston was among those attending those functions, though for the time being he had his own bit of free time. Rather than wandering around and reminiscing about his time spent at Cabal, Preston instead was content to sit with a good book.

Fun prank to play on strangers:

Marin was hiding under a bench and suddenly grabbed at Valerian's ankle as he walked by!

They're all gonna have such a laugh.

Step step.

"Oh! There's someone n-AH!"

Valerian just started to head in Preston's direction before being tripped! His drink goes flying towards the man reading!

[Preston Salabim]

Preston gets wet! As does his book. He'd stand up and brush himself off, trying to get some of the liquid off of him.

[Marin]

"Boo!"

It's very delayed as Valerian's already tripped and soaked Preston by now, but oh well. Marin crawls out from under the bench and gives an hearty and exaggerated laugh.

"OH HO HO HAHA!"

[Valerian Blackburn]

"Oh geez... sorry man. I don't-"

Val jumps from the girl's exclamation, spinning in place before laughing in relief.

"...Oh lord. I got made a fool of by a little girl... I'm never gonna live this down."

[Preston Salabim]

Preston mourned his book more than his clothes. The poor book had done nothing to anyone. But it would probably be salvageable. Still, it was inconvenient. However, it seemed to be from the actions of a child, which was odd. He didn't recall seeing anyone that young in his time at Cabal. Things had obviously changed.

"I forgive you. It was an accident. At least you didn't accidentally step on your little sister's hands when she leaped at you."

[Marin]

Marin beams with Pride, placing her hands on her hips!

Though Preston makes her tilt her head.

"What is sister?"

[Valerian Blackburn]

"Sister!?"

Valerian spins again, then has to take a step to the side so he doesn't fall from being off balance.

"I don't have a sister. Especially not one that's... that's...."

He turns again to squint.

"....three?"

[Preston Salabim]

"Oh, well my apologies. I didn't mean to offend you. I simply assumed since she was grabbing your legs that you two were siblings or something."

He'd adjust his glasses before squatting down to look at the child.

"A sister is a girl that shares the same parents with someone. And a brother is a boy who shares the same parents with someone."

[Marin]

She puff her cheeks angrily at Val, holding out her hands and showing all her fingers!

"I'm eight!!"

Before she can get any more heated though, she look at Preston in the eyes as he explains.

"Ohhhhh." she nods, getting the concept at least.

"Don't know if I have that."

[Valerian Blackburn]

"I was close... usually girls like it when you see them as younger."

He gives her a wink, before Val looks at Preston again.

"I'm guessing she's not yours, then. Is this something we're supposed to report? Like a missing kid thing?"

He's totally assuming Preston is just another student here.

[Preston Salabim]

"Not normally until they are older," Preston replied as he walked over to the kid and squatted down to talk to her at her level.

"Depends." He'd say to Valerian before giving his full attention to the child. "Hi, my name is Preston, what's your name? Do you know who is supposed to be watching you by chance?"

[Marin]

"I want to be older!" she huffs again, completely agreeing with Preston.

Girls only wanna be younger when they're at least past their teen years...

To Preston she'd stare up dramatically at the ceiling as she thought.

"Ummmmmmmmmmm......my dad?"

She doesn't sound entirely sure.
