Since she's leaning back, it takes her a bit longer to try and move away so Daniel hugs her from behind!
Not wanting to get picked up, she quickly throws one arm back so that she can force herself on top of him where both of them will end up on their backs. Except she's trying to use her back to squish his head between it and the floor.

At the very least, he wants to relieve the pressure, but at best, he's looking to pick her up much as Nova had been concerned about.
