Marin's three next years were about as exciting as her life at Cabal always was. After Krane said no to her running off with a strange man who also happened to be a dragon, she took him up on his promise that both he and her 'grandpa' would help her with her abilities.
The more she learned, the tougher she wanted the tasks to be, and the less she wanted to just stay at the Academy while everyone else went out and did really cool stuff.
So every few months she'd try to bargain as to why she could totally go on an assignment or mission, and every time she was given a blunt no. Because..you know. She was like 9, 10, or 11.
Life was so unfair.
Her free time was spent practicing on her own, or drawing comics about her badass life she was definitely eventually going to live. There might be a segment in there about her making David cry by hitting HIM in the forehead.
There was a little bit of lamenting about who she was and where she came from more recently. Her memories of her time with a "master" became more clear, and she understood that she had at some point been forced to work for this creep. This became a big focus, and Marin admittedly has started to try and think of ways to find out who that master was (so she can give him the 'ol punch in the face), and who had placed her at Cabal with the note.
On that note: no, she doesn't really question her family setting. She's content with it and sees no point in scrutinizing it.
