Angelonia would put her tea down and stand to respectfully bow her head to Ali as she left with an open hand over her heart. Once her head was lowered the hand would pull away in a slow swiping motion from her heart as if an open arm ready for embrace. It was a Zekunft show of respect. Like a military salute.
Shin would approach and offer his arm like before. They would be escorted to the front door where they would be able to reach the jeep again.
"Kind of tense in there, and odd. Nobles like that... You can never guess what they are thinking, or trying to do."

Ali would return the bow of respect, still kind of surprised she made it this far without actually angering the other woman. But she woudln't argue it, either, and paused at the sight of the extended gesture. This was somewhere between interesting in weird. Thankfully, she and Shin were able to leave without further comment, her hand on his arm as they approached the jeep.
"I...probably could have kept to myself a bit more," she agreed with reluctance as she entered the Jeep. She wouldn't elaborate until Shin was also inside with his door shut.
"I have no idea what she wants. People like her don't pay attention to people like me. It's unsettling. I keep expecting her to change her mind on letting us go after that, or try to get some kind of information on Ayatlan." So much frowning.

Shin would sigh audibly as he listened to Ali, nodding as he started it up.
"Yeah, it's a scary environment for sure. I'd rather be knee deep in enemy territory on a battle field than stuck playing aristocrat and negotiator. The enemy is so unknown in those situations."
Shin visibly shudders as he begins driving.
"And our final stop is the most unknown of them all..."

"Yeah." Ali settled into her seat with a sigh. "Knee deep and no armor. At least I know what to expect on the field." The mention of Prota made her uneasy as she gave a slow nod.
"I admit, I don't know much about Prota. Just the rumors: captivity, wiping entire territories bare for order, the things they do to them..." And people some of their ingredients for magic were bad. Her hand gripped the seal Preston had provided a little tighter in response. At least she had the official backing of her Territory leader as well as two of the Big Five, not to mention now having two others witnessed her passing through without any major issues. It was another reason she'd picked Prota last.
"We're free after that one, and we have a trail behind us at least."

"I don't know much else either. I was part of a mission once to hide refugee's who escaped, but one day they just kind of, got up and went back to Prota, apologizing for causing us trouble."
Shin shook his head.
"Strangest thing I've ever seen."

Her lips pressed into a tight line at the description. Strange was definitely one way to put it, and horrifying. Nothing that made sense would sway someone that strongly. Well, nothing honorable.
"If it makes you feel any better, I will hit you if you try to take me back. Apology or no."

Shin would chuckle and the ride would go pretty smooth. Until they were a few miles off from the border. They would come across a party of individuals who were with John Strike himself. The seemed to be in the infamous Protan Battle Form, the Qi they force every citizen to get augmented with. Shin pulls to a halt and to the side of the road. "This seems... Unusual, I doubt they are out here for us."

Ali enjoys the ride to the border, frowning at the sight waiting for them. Battle forms were hardly needed for them, especially with Strike himself in the party.
"Yeah, that's not us." She would look in the mirrors for anything else that seemed out of place before taking a deep breath. "But there's only one way to find out what's going on unless we sit here and wait it out."

Shin would look around himself for who or what was going on to call for Battle Forms, but after a moment when nothing presented its self he would exit the vehicle, drawing both his spears from the seat next to him before moving to cover Ali getting out of the jeep if she did. She may or may not notice in Shin's eyes were blue glowing magic circles. He turned towards the road they had traveled. "We probably missed them on our way up here, hidden out of sight from the road. I doubt if Aurora was the only hit. They probably hit Prota too." The large Lion armored man would walk over. Well over six and a half feet tall. "Cabal soldiers? A single jeep isn't much of a reinforcement offer."

Given the close proximity when he helped her out of the car, she noticed the blue glow and the fact that Shin's eyes weren't the same, but her attention was elsewhere with what he said and the fact Prota was expecting them?
"Probably. I doubt it was just one territory that has his focus or we'd be better off altogether." She turned to face the man with the lion's face and armor, feeling her neck ache as she looked up - way up.
"That would be because we're here on different business." Damnit. Not that she needed to know what this situation was or why; she wasn't Asiv's messenger. It was just going to be harder to walk away now after clearly bearing Cabal's symbol.
"It must be something significant to have so many out." She looked from him to teh others, eye lingering on Strike specifically for a second before turning her gaze to the lion man once more.

The Lion headed man looks down at the girl and finally nods.
"The Conqueror sent some forces at us, our scouts and patrols are usually very active, but he got a large force right on our border before we even had a chance to appropriately respond."
Shin would chime in.
"So you spread elite forces all along your border while the bulk of your army takes on these surprise forces expecting another surprise attack or infiltration from another spot."
The Lion would nod.
"Exactly that. What is the other business that brings you here then if not to reinforce us?"

"Indeed." Ali would nod. "He's shown to be able to tunnel long distances without interference. I doubt it's his only method." Seeing as how she had no idea what or how they found the surprise force, she'd leave it at that.
Back to the matter at hand, she continued. "I'm here as an emissary from Ayatlan to deliver a message to Emporer Strike, though you seem to know part of it already if you're dealing with the Conqueror."

The Lion headed man would look back at the Emperor who perked up at the sound of his name and title. He would walk over while the Lion headed man lowered himself to take a knee. Shin did the same off instinct, though he extended his spear so Ali would use it to lower herself if she wished. Strike would quickly give them a motion to rise and begin speaking.
"Your message involves this somehow? All the way from Ayatlan even? Does someone in your territory also posses the sight?"
Shin, even though he had stood left his spear in place for Ali if need be.

Ali would do her best to kneel without assistance, the motion slower for it as she mentally balked at doing so at all. Remembering when she'd done so before as a request out of respect that affected her. Perhaps this wasn't so different.
No, it was. A lot.
"Yes." Rising with Shin's assistance, the mage nodded and looked to Strike directly as she spoke.
"The man has also reached out to attack Aurora again, and lost the battle. But the message is from King Oleander. He wants you to watch the sky, because he is going to tear the Conqueror's castle from it."
This felt bad, really bad. Like, let's openly bait the enemy if they're in hearing range bad. But there were few enough details that they coudln't pass it on if they had heard anything the last two times she'd said it.

"Oh?" Strike thought before looking up at the sky for a moment. Shin looked quickly to his left side out into the field pulling his arms and spears in close to his body he would spin in place moving faster and faster a static charge building from just the friction of the speed of his spin before he threw all of the speeding momentum into just his right arm as it launched his spear a bolt of blue static shooting between the loosed speeding spear and his hand. The spear would hit the earth about a hundred yards away, causing an explosion which threw dirt, debris, and a tree or two into the air. Along with A man with two large weapons of some kind who was grimacing from barely dodging the spear attack. He would land and skid to a halt, hefting one of the large barrels onto his shoulder and pointing it at Shin, Ali, and Strike!
