No matter where you are, or what you are doing. A sudden stinging pain pierces your center a harsh wind blows like an oven door releasing heat against your face. Suddenly night time you are met with the view of a large barren black top. Buildings all around are crumpled to nothing, craters sending smoke to the sky as the ground rumbles all around you. Screams in the distance, crying in the shadows. Every now and then a body can be seen in the rubble, eyes open, face of fear and regret. Grasping, reaching out to something, anything that could save them from this night of horror. The night the bombs dropped.
This is the night the world ended.

Mathew gripped his chest as the sensations washed over him. His body or mind suddenly transported not just in a physical space, but potentially in temporal one. The feelings were similar to the ones that the former Earth Dragon described feeling before being transported to his present, and now he was face to face with his past once more.
He'd lived through this horror once before and it had helped to shape him into being who he was now. Even still, knowing what awaited him he could not say he was looking forward to going through this again. He knew he could survive it again, however long he was here. But surviving the apocalypse once was enough for any man, to do it a second time was something that filled his stomach with the pit of dread. Even still, he kept his chin lifted high as he surveyed the fresh ruined wreckage, looking for a vantage point to scout out not only the surroundings but for the threats he knew to be looming in the fresh carnage. The world waited for no man, even when they have a second chance.

Eve's fist pressed against her chest, knuckles digging in as she struggled to breathe with the sudden rush of heat. She'd heard the description before, surprised that she was feeling it instead of seeing someone else from a time before she was born.
The world was bleak, dark and barren. The sounds that seemed to come from everywhere felt like a nightmare. the smell of burnt flesh stinging her nose as smoke made her eyes water. She covered her hand as she coughed and gagged on the scent, forcing herself to straighten and look around. She didn't know this place, or at least not like it was now.
Letting her hand drop to her side, she shuddered at the remains of bodies, blindly reaching into nothingness for help that would never come.
She'd follow Mathew's lead as they moved, shocked into utter silence as she tried to process whatever this was. Whenever it was.

Drake gripped at his chest and winced in pain. The pain combined with the heat was unexpected. He had only just moments prior been about to walk into his temporary lodgings at the Sudeki Compound. But this... the hell was this? Everything looked... awful... Thats when he would notice Mathew. He sneered.
"Is this your doing Dragon."
He would say practically spitting out the word.

He stayed low as he moved toward his vantage point, taking note of the vibrations in the ground as others arrived and even followed him. Eve was familiar enough and easy to recognize. The whelp too was becoming annoyingly common.
"Do you honestly think it is?"
If so the kid truly was stupid and foolish.

Eve looked back in the direction of the unfamiliar voice, but the face was certainly familiar by this point. She frowned at the kid who looked a lot like her uncle, Rai. You could feel the hate coming off of him in waves. She wasn't sure that title was one that should be thrown around right now.
"This really isn't the place to start throwing accusations around." Duh.

Drake would fold his arms and roll his eyes.
"Cause or not, I'm sure you feel right at home."
He would say under his breath. However, unlike Dra Aht, he would follow Mathew's lead. Whether the Dragon was or wasn't the cause of this, the best thing for now would be to stay close to him. He seemed all too familiar with this scene, and despite Drake's typical "No fucks given demeanor" the sight of the world around him... it shook his very core.

"That's what I thought. Keep your voice low and try and stay out of sight when you can."
To the vantage point to see what's up!

After having the strangest cramp of her life, Rose would open her eyes a few times to adjust to her...apparently new setting. She would take in what looked like Dirt, but she didn't recognize any of the areas. Curious, she'd step over people crying and begging, apparently desensitized to that sort of thing. She could empathize, but it wasn't a strong enough reaction to get her to stop and help a bunch of strangers. Instead she starts searching for...able-bodied people. "Hello? Where is this?"

She Felt the pain and she felt it was as hot as red iron. She would open her mouth in the agony but the noise would not come as she looked to be screaming. the Hot air cut off her breath and she landed in the blink of an eye choking on what tasted and smelled like ash and death. Rhona looking around the area unsure what or where she just came.
"Oh Gods..." She would be speechless while she stood and searched amongst the hell before her for answers.

"Ngh!"
Elias hunches over a bit from the sudden pain, but when his eyes open...
...
"Oh."
Much like Rose, he seems pretty unaffected, as instead he starts sucking up whatever death is happening around him as he starts exploring.
------------
Level 0 - Life Force Absorption: Elias stores the life force of those around him when they die. He can hold up to X amount of charges, with X being 1.25x his current level of energy, and these charges can be built up over multiple threads. He gains two charges per death.
Elias can use these charges as a temporary buff for one thread only, spending the charges to increase his attributes as a sort of temporary experience points to his base stats. Once spent, these points only last for the current thread, and the charges must be built up with death once more. Upgraded twice.

A sudden pained mix between a groan and a whimper shot out of Soni as a sudden pain hit her chest. Her heart began to race and the quick fear of a heart attack seeped in her mind as she hunched over. But then the sounds began to flood in.
And it was something far worse.
Soni opened her eyes as her ears were overwhelmed by the sounds of death, fear, and agony. Immediately she fell to the ground. Her breath was quickening. "Nonononono..." she whimpered to herself as she put her headphones around her ears. She could never get sounds out of her mind, and these were not ones that she wanted in her head. In reality, it was far too late. But the less she could hear the better.
The second she got them on, music blasted and she held it to her ears. She didn't realize how many tears fell from her face, or how intensely she was rocking. She just wanted the sounds to go away.
"This can't be real..this can't be real...this can't be real..."

Post by Blake Senoha on Apr 8, 2019 4:26:44 GMT -8
Blake had been walking to the academy, her plastic silver suitcase trailing along behind her. A new path in life had appeared, and despite some misgivings about it all she found it terribly interesting and quite impossible to turn down. And so she was here, enjoying her walk towards the school which would soon become her new home.
But then came a distant whistle,
Then the light,
Then the heat,
Then the world of weightlessness, where up, down, left, right, forward, back were all the same.
When all this came to an end Blake would find herself on the ground, covered with ash, aching all over, and with a subsiding ringing in her ears. Her plastic suitcase was gone from sight with no clues as to where it may have disappeared to, and it was doubtful that she’d be finding it anytime soon. Very slowly she raised herself up from a prone position, eventually standing with the support of the remains of a wall. She’d open her mouth to shout hello, but would find that her throat was especially dry and her mouth tasted like ash, and only seemed to want to produce a rather unremarkable croak. With no other real course of action, she brushed a couple loose strands of soot coated hair out of her face and looked around, trying to see if there was anybody else as lucky as her.

Everyone using or trying to use Qi abilities will find they are much weaker, less than half as effective as they usually are and taking much more strain to use than normal. Even passive effects or mutations due to Qi are lesser, needing mental attention to even perform.
Mathew's company make it to a perch. A well made wall that had fallen inwards on a building and stayed intact enough to create a ramp to the partially fallen roof. He can tell this was Compton, from the time spent there during the war. They were near one of Barker's secret lab bases. Just below them about twenty yards away is a group of white haired, pale skinned, and red eyes lab experiments. They seem to be literally sniffing around for something. That's when Mathew's tremor sense picks it up. The rubble straight down has a barely moving, barely breathing figure in it. The figure is small, but a noise would rip attention to it as down the way a man in normal clothes can be seen sprinting away as the experiments give chase!
"... Daddy?"
The weakest little voice echoes upwards to the group.
Rose and Elias can see the vast wasteland and smoke before them. Elias is able to soak up four souls from around him, but finds it very difficult to do so. Elias is now tired from the exertion alone. That's when they would spot them. Two white haired, red eyes hospital gown wearing people come walking around a near by corner. Only offsets of the pale colors of their bodies and clothing is the blood, mud, and ash covering their forms in splotches.
Blake would see Soni rocking back and forth trying to not hear what she can obviously hear, Blake can even hear the loud music coming from Soni's headphones, like a beacon in the night. It also works to attract the attention of things in the darkness, things Blake can see moving towards Soni. She can't make out what they are, but they are not friendly.
Rhona would see one familiar face in this hellscape. A red haired man covered in fire, wearing a ballistics mask on his hip and swinging a hammer. He is no older than a teenager, covered in blood, and injuries. Other men following him wearing masks as they stumble around. John Summers himself breathing heavy as if some great battle had only just recently ended.

Drake without any hesitation jumps down and sprints to get the kid out of the rubble. There was nothing he could do for the man, but why would he want to help some asshole that just abandoned this kid anyways. Once he got to the kid he would dig the child out of the rubble and holding it in his arms.
"Hey, are you ok? Are you injured?"
He would ask the kid, and while he meant well, he didn't exactly have the kindest attitude. His anger, concern, and even fear all apparent in his voice. Drake would look to see if there were any more of those freaks around.
