Mathew was knocked back by the explosion, the shards of stone and other projectiles breaking and cracking against his armor as he calmly kept hold of his grip on the Earth and held his armor fast. He had to work to keep a smile from his face. He was proud of her, she wasn't giving in and to him at least that was the Amtrum spirit.

It felt good to see him knocked back but still standing. As difficult to make the earth move when it didn't want to, it was even more difficult against her dad.

The projectiles launched again, a forming spike hardened by earth and her own qi from beneath him.

He brought his arm up to shield his eyes as the spikes slammed into his back, staggering him forward from the force of the blow, but still, his armor held. But this was more what he wanted to see from her.

Both encouragement and reminder, Eve pushed the attack, unleashing her blades as she hovered above the ground. She didn't know how far she could go before she lost the ability to pull it securely, letting her blades form and spiral towards him while she had him at a disadvantage, unable to deny the rush in her veins.
She drew in more energy from the earth, wondering just how much strength she had to throw at him.

A flicker of contemplation flashed in her eyes as she drew up the energy, her wings forming as she lifted onto her toes on the ground, letting it fill her until it felt like a flood. It was more than anything she'd felt before, but she wanted to see. She felt confident enough to do it, hat she wouldn't be a useless heap of flesh afterward, but what if she went too far? There was one way to find out. Her visor formed, and she felt the earth-coated constructs spiraled and formed spikes onto the one she sent at Mathew with a shout. She lifted off the ground as the blades came at him from behind, one final stomp pushing her into the air as the projectile shot out at her father, another beam coming at him from above to try and force him to pick which target to defend against. Her chest heaved as she tried to catch her breath, but at least she wasn't out. Yet. ______________________________________

He felt the power surging within her and his legs would shift ever so slightly so they were shoulder width apart as he watched her. A grin flashing across his features as he felt the ground behind him give way to the forming spike. His right hand rose up to meet the sword, his armor holding it at bay with ease as his daughter's spike's slammed into him. Both of them breaking through his armor and piercing through each of his shoulders and erupting out the other side with a spray of blood and shrapnel. Mathew's feet would lift off of the ground, held up by the spikes as blood slowly dripped from their tips, a small chuckle erupting from him.
"And what does this teach you?"
He'd only let the question hang in the air a second before answering it himself.
"Even us God's can bleed. There is no such thing as an unbeatable foe."

The blow with her blades glanced off of him as Eve expected, but the double hit with the spikes was so thorough and bloody that her mind lost the ability to form words at the sight of her father taking more than a bruise or two, but actually wounded and hanging off of the ground. There was no answer for his question, but she nodded as the shock wore off. he was still...well, not standing, but talking as he normally did, and he hadn't called it off. He'd be okay. If she was going to stay here, she had to be, too.
The spectral form of her sister appeared as she nodded and took a deep breath, forcing as much of it out as possible as most of her injuries healed.
"I'll remember."

Eve raised her arm as the spikes came her way, constructing a shield as she absorbed the rest of the damage.
"You've always had at least one up your sleeve." It was a reminder for herself as well as accepting what he said. Whatever challenges she faced, she couldn't assume she'd won just because it seemed that way.
"I'd be more worried about the god that doesn't." The projectiles she sent in return came from both sides, aiming at his torso.

He said with a smirk, as he recalled his own ascension. Things seemed so simple back then, no one had answers to his tricks. He'd take the spikes without breaking a sweat, letting them shatter off of his armor.

The look of concern on her face had nothing to do with the spikes she used doing nothing and entirely with the fact that Mathew was suggesting otherwise. Some, sure, she could see them being done once they seemed that way. Now he made it sound like it was more common than she'd thought.
"Even the rest of the big six?" She knew the story taking on Poseidon and Ra, among other things, but she wasn't expecting a cake walk. The qi blades formed again, one in hand and the other launched at him in an immediate follow up, teh blade taking on a sharper and earth-spiked edge as she extended her own energy on top of it, drawing it in a diagonal slash at his chest. A small et of spikes came at him from behind.

The attacks would not get past his armor this time, not without putting more into it like before. But he could feel how strong she had become. It was the kind of thing that made him proud as a Father.
"Not all of them, but remember these are men and women who are not used to people being able to match them. The world they came into power in isn't one they had to claw their way up from nothing. Most of them have never needed hidden tricks."
