He loomed over her, his face darkening as he spoke. There were no more games to be played, she needed to know this wasn't a game, he was not going to have her embarrass him back home. And more than that, he was not going to let her walk blindly into being what he tried so hard to shelter her from for her whole life. The picture he painted was brutal, reminding her of all the foul things in humanity that she was taught against, believed against. Protector or not, that was also what she would be pursuing if she did this. Helping that to grow, the hate and foulness of the world, the good suffering while unrest spread like a toxin.
She would be throwing away the life he had helped build for her, the protection she had lived with her whole life, or nearly. She wanted to say that she could do it without a doubt, without hesitation, but as her father loomed over her, the shadow of war and all it came with seemed to do the same. She was throwing away a gift he gave her, in a way, but in truth, it had been taken from her already. Now she'd be brewing a way for that to continue for others.
And if she didn't, someone else would. And she couldn't turn away from that, either.
"Yes." The word was quiet, but firm, and not before she swallowed the knot in her throat. She'd made her choice.

His words hung around her neck like a stone, a side of him that Eve hadn't seen before. She kept them close, knowing she coudln't just say that she understood; she'd never had the difficulties her parents had growing up. There had been no mud for her but a home that felt like a palace made of stone. She would need to hide her surprise and harden her heart, because minor ridicule was going to be the least of her worries. She knew that. She thought she understood it.
It was time for her to prove she wasn't just talk, or riding her father's coat tails throughout this land like a lost little babe.
"I will." It was a promise.

He'd uncross his arms, his features softening as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a familiar looking necklace. The same one that Eve and her Sister had worn their whole lives. Though it was now little more than useless metal. But it was still a memento and a treasure to him. He'd lean in to put it around her neck where it once proudly rested before the spell was broken.
"Its magic is faded, but it still belongs to you. A symbol of who we are, and who we were."

She thought she imagined the necklace he pulled from his pocket; Eve figured it had been lost or destroyed long before now. The sight of it was reassuring, the metal on her skin slightly warm from being in her father's pocket, laying in its familiar spot. Only now it felt foreign, too, like an old memory that was just recently brought to light.
"I won't forget." Never. Not who they were, who they were now. Amutrum. Family, broken and mended. More than the world bargained for. She coudln't hide the confidence in her tone.

"Tomorrow. I wasn't going to just up and leave without letting you know." That being said, there was no unfinished business for her here. The people would be fine with her father leading them and training them. Spike was in good hands, and no one else in the family would likely give her trouble or not have their hands full with their own plans.
