[Novocaine]

"Hardly."

She means that in more ways than one but he doesn't need to know that.

"You're an enhanced human from Prota."

[Gunslinger]

"...like every other enhanced human from Prota."

[Novocaine]

"They don't have that anywhere else."

[Gunslinger]

"Just everywhere here."

He slowly looks up to her.

"...you and I both come from powerful families. You know mine. My dad has electricity that could rival the Lightning Dragon. My brother is obscenely strong with his Soulfire. Even my sister can make blades from nothing."

Daniel gives a soft sigh.

"I'm just... here."

[Novocaine]

"Which means you have to work your ass off to make yourself special. Is that really so bad?" she tilts her head.

"Powerful Qi users are a dime a dozen. A powerful normie who could take them on? Wouldn't that be way more impressive? Worth far more praise?"

[Gunslinger]

"....yes, it would be."

Daniel nods slowly.

"But what if I can't keep up?"

[Sir Galahad]

"Then you keep pushing yourself. Harder and harder, and harder still. Until the day you drop. Never stop."

Roy would say coming up from behind them. He had just left the facility himself.

[Novocaine]

Nova would turn to look at Roy, then look back at Daniel.

"Why are you even worried about that, anyway? You're not keeping up. You're surpassing, remember?"

[Gunslinger]

Daniel's eyes widen, and he instinctively straightens at Roy's voice, turning to face him more.

"Surpassing, yes. I'm just... realizing how far I have to go."

He glances towards Roy.

"...sir."

[Sir Galahad]

Roy smiled and patted Daniel on the shoulder.

"You're getting there. Both of you. Now, go on and head to Vindicta after y'all have had some time to rest. And, I tell you what, I take back what I said about using your abilities there. They'll want to fight you even more of you show them you've got powers. Though... never mind. It's up to you two, I trust y'alls situational awareness in this matter."

He would look between the two and nod.

"I'll be off then, sorry for interfering with your private conversation."

With that, he would leave.

Nova would tilt her head and cross her arms, nodding to Roy as he took his leave but sighing a bit afterwards. Sometimes it was ALMOST frustrating being unable to get all the details from someone around here.

She looks back at Daniel.

"No powers, then?" she raises a fist to him.

[Gunslinger]

"Your thoughts are always appreciated, sir."

Daniel nods to Roy, letting the man leave as he wants. When Nova offers her first, Daniel lifts his own for a bump.

"No powers. Unless you want to work on yours."

[Novocaine]

"I'll have time to do that outside of Vindicta. I need a challenge."

It was hard being good at stuff without trying. So hard. So sad.

[Gunslinger]

If he knew, he'd be so salty...

"...very well."

"Let's go home and get ready then."
