Mental Information
Personality: Cara is used to being in charge and heeded, finds things in life that make it better even when it's bleak, and does her best to lead by example. She doesn't take nonsense from anyone, and those that try come up against a very matter-of-fact attitude and a sharper tongue that isn't afraid to sass. She likes people and tries to lift others up, but expects them to put in their contribution of work. Her qi beast companions are precious to her and she will stand up for them to anyone like she would her own siblings, and takes issue with a sense of honor, pride, or debt that leads to self destructive actions and behavior.
That being said, she isn't blindly optimistic and has a strong realistic streak that has allowed her to survive in a harsh land and deal with people who are...very combat happy. There's a time for violence, and a time to put it aside to focus on other needs.
Physical Information
Build: Trim
Defining Marks: None
Description: Cara has a bit of rough and tumble appearance to her, even when she's trying to dress up and look more feminine. Growing up on a ranch and hunting has left her hands calloused, and coming from a large brood of kids means hand-me-downs and recycled clothes. Still, when she puts effort into it, she can come across as presentable.
Gold Mark of the White Lizard: A birthmark like symbol on Cara's right shoulder, colored gold.
History Information
History: The oldest of five, Cara was a bit of an accident, surprising her parents as they struggled to keep her father's family ranch alive during and after the war. With little to their name, devastated land, and a legacy in ruins, they had to rebuild and work with the animals that survived, often supplying their outpost with food. Over time, they were able to supply more food and materials to the territory, as well as the capital of Cabal. Add to that the constantly shifting border of Cabal and Vindicta territories, and it was a volatile time at best.
Cara was taught to survive at a young age, and to pull her weight and then some growing up. The second child, her younger brother, was able to relieve some of the responsibility, but not until after she helped to babysit. Growing up with a small passel of workers and orphans, they rebuilt the outpost, where she learned more about hunting and tracking as they expanded outward and tried to reclaim the land from the qi warping and overgrowth. She discovered not only the land twisted by qi, but it affected the animals roaming, as well. As well, she had a ken with them that felt like her understanding of other animals, but different.
This came into affect especially when she found a young, injured avian qi beast, a burst of sunshine yellow in the sparse brush. She earned the creature's trust with time and was able to tend its injuries, raising it and caring for it until it could do so for itself, only to find it stayed in the area. When they finally left to move further into safe territory, she brought her companion with her, and after her triplet siblings were settled in, took herself to Cabal's academy to learn more about the qi beasts that were still a part of her life and what she could do with them.
The chance to learn about qi users among the bandits that would hit her home was a bonus.
