Gear interrupted (Event open to 2)

[Lucifer]

He shook his head.

"No, we try to not kill. Many of them ran away when it became apparent they were out numbered and over powered. The prisoners have been tended to as well."

He gave Donovan a perplexed look.

"Do you always introduce yourself with threats?"

He glanced back at Ali.

"One of the bandits I assume?"

[Allison Kazim]

"Donavon, would you kindly stop threatening everyone else who breathes?" She probably shouldn't be as irritated, but at the same time, if he threatened someone who found or helped them, they could wind up back to being nearly dead. Or worse.

"Thank you," she continued, her tone closer to normal as she addressed the man standing before them. Not that she really liked being bound and upside down like this, but she'd worry about that once they weren't openly being watched. "I apologize for my companion's offensive behavior; from what I understand, he doesn't know any better. I can understand mistaking him for a bandit." She would have. "He's very..excitable. But the bandits were the ones we were fighting against." her eye twitched as she recalled the boy's utter lack of stealth. Or discretion. Or self-preservation.

"If you found us, then who are you?" Obviously not a bandit himself, or one of theirs. She doubted they'd be alive if he was.

[Donovan]

"But... it wasn't a threat. I was merely informing him that if he was a bandit then I would have to kill him. On principle. Regardless of his assistance. But I am glad that you are not a bandit and thus don't have to kill you."

Then he would pause a moment in thought.

"However if you are strong I would enjoy fighting you!"

[Lucifer]

"That is a relief to hear. None of us want more trouble than we have already had."

He'd remark, looking back over his shoulder where others like him were. Most huddled around each other watching what was going on cautiously. All of them with stark white hair.

"I am Azure. And we are just trying to find a place to call home. We are not welcome most places, so we thought we would find an uninhabitable place, and make it habitable."

He motioned to the greenery they now found themselves in.

"I will assume you wanting to fight me is a compliment, and I thank you. But we have no interest in violence as a sport. It would not be right do engage in it being what we are."

He cleared his throat.

"Anyways, how are you both feeling? Do you still feel pain?"

[Allison Kazim]

Ali's gaze went to the others that were huddled about, looking red eyes among them if they could be seen from this distance. She had a mighty suspicion and a nagging memory, especially with the way Azure spoke of himself and the others.

"You seem to be off to a good start, if you can do this." She nodded her head at an angle to indicate the tree in the area where the ground had been destroyed. At the mention of their well being, she nodded.

"Yes. I assume you're specifically the one who helped us? If so, then thank you." Flipping the subject back, she continued.

"Have you had to deal with the bandits often, as well?"

[Donovan]

Donovan was going to respond with something he thought would be witty about how they are losers for not wanting to fight... but then he was feeling rather sick. Why won't the world stop spinning.

"Hmph. Blgh. Uhhhh... I don't feel to- Hmph!"

He would say in between gags.

[Lucifer]

She could see flashes of red eyes among them.

"There are... many who dislike our presence. There are times we have had to defend ourselves... We had only just arrived when we heard the explosions. We thought it best to rush and offer what aid we could."

[Allison Kazim]

"No pain for me, at least." Shifted in the cocoon if it was possible.

'We have scars, white hair, red eyes...but at least we feel.' The thought stuck in her like a thorn in her side. Ali wasn't sure if she should be on the defensive, and settled for some sense of wariness. Mostly because they were strangers and she was still upside down. One comment had her curiosity, but they seemed fine and not the sort to be worried about. They even seemed to know what sort of judgement people might give them.

"That is understandable. Where were you, before? You're skirting territory land that has some...violent currs."

[Donovan]

Still spinning.

"I'm. Gonna. Throw up. Mmmph!"

He was turning green.

[Lucifer]

"That is good to hear."

He'd slice at the air with his hand, a blade of wind cutting Donovan down and dropping him to the ground. He would find his wounds healed, however! As for Ali, Azure would hold her cocoon as he cut it open, helping her to the ground gently. Her wounds would also be healed.

"We have traveled across every land controlled by those that claim to be the big four. Nowhere have we found a home that will allow us to live in peace."

[Allison Kazim]

Ali resisted the urge to close her eyes at the sound of Donavon grunting and twisting, making things worse for himself as a long-suffering look crossed her face. An expression that quickly passed as a blade of wind cut the boy free, her own freedom less violent. he nodded and picked off any stray webbing that clung to her.

"Thank you for your help, Azure." She considered the tree they had been hanging from, moving to step closer and lay a hand on it, wondering if it would feel like any other tree.  The other hand went to her chest, feeling the healed wounds with a light touch.

"How did you manage this? You could use it to nurture the land here, if you wanted to give it a try. The village closest to here was destroyed."

[Donovan]

"Blegh!"

Donovan would raise a hand with his thumbs up.

"Th-thank yo- urgh!"

And more vomit.

[Lucifer]

"Some of us are gifted in aspects of the land and the body. It is why we decided to find a wasteland to create a home in. Civilized areas fear and hate us. This seemed to be the only solution."

He considered what she said about the destroyed villages, letting out a small sigh.

"We will... consider it. But I am not sure our help will be welcomed."

He said eyeing Donovan as he continued to vomit.

[Allison Kazim]

"Perhaps not." She turned back to Azure as she spoke.  These people seemed to not be a feral, mindless lot. Between her studies back home and the recent attack on Zukunft, she had to wonder just how likely it would be they'd find a space anywhere, and how much danger they might be in without knowing it.

"I would stay away from the east, at least, wherever you end up. The people here may be enough for you to go somewhere secluded, but for now, we don't know when he bandits will be back, or in greater numbers. Perhaps keeping to yourselves a while more may be the better solution."

She eyed Donovan with a small, concerned frown as he upchucked his insides, then to the crate.

"The bandit's belongings, I take it?" She nodded towards the crate as she spoke.

[Donovan]

Donovan stood up and wiped his mouth.

"Wait... did I miss something? Why aren't you welcome anywhere?"

He asked legitimately confused.

"You lot are obviously strong to fight off those bandits and rescue those people. So any group would be lucky to have you around, I would think. Well... if you have Qi I would understand Vindicta being cold shoulder to you... they are assholes about that..."
