"Understood." Ali nodded at the acceptance of the task given to her, already dreading it but keeping up the determined face. Watching the other two go with a frown, she wondered what suddenly happened for them to leave and refocus, also assuming it was weapons that Violet had said were supposed to be inert.
Turning back to Azure, she would nod in farewell.
"Take care, Azure. I hope you and the others can find the peace you're looking for. And thank you again for helping with the bandits."

Winters and Violet would be waiting in the jeep for Ali to say her goodbye's.

"You are more than welcome. May the next time we meet be under kinder circumstances." He'd say with a sad smile before bowing and waiting to watch them leave.

"I hope so, too." Ali bowed in response as well as farewell, turning to head back to the jeep, fixing Violet and Winters both with a look that clearly said she had questions.

With Violet now driving Winters would see Ali's expression. Nodding he would pat the seat next to him.
"I vill answer vat I can Frau... But, know ve are generally sworn to secrecy."

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me." Was that a note of dry humor in an otherwise flat voice? Must be the imagination. The mage shook her head.
"I"m assuming that includes the sudden change in plans on your part?"

"Ze reasonings, yes. But, I can say its due to knowing about ze world at large. As you know, old vorld veapons no longer work in our vorld of Qi. Do you know vy?"
Winters decided to pose a question and see if she could sniff out answers for herself through his own explanations.

She nodded at the reminder of old world weapons not working; it had made her wonder how this was supposed to work for the bandits in the first place, especially if they weren't all qi users themselves to find some way of doing it.
"It was during the Great War, wasn't it?" Ah, history class, bless you. "They suddenly stopped working, but I don't remember reading anything about why."

Winters would nod.
"Vhen ze enemy took down the old vorld zey had been using something called nano machines to specifically target materials zat could be used to create explosives and gunpowder and the like. ze information on vhere a massive store of zese nano machines vere drew ze Lightning Dragon's attention and he released zem all. Effectively destroying not just ze active ones in ze vorld, but ze raw material to make more. Zey vould eat ze compounds and use zem to make more of zemselves, repeat until ze world is clean of ze old weapons. Very few vere untouched, bringing ze vorld effectively back to ze stone age."
Violet would chip in as well.
"That combined with the EMP's frying all the networks and electronics put everything at a stand still. A few people like the Lightning Dragon could use electrical like elements to work some old world tech with the right hook ups. And some... Could do it as a primary function of their powers. If you were suddenly dropped in an endlessly lawless world and you were the only one that could shoot guns, or use technology, what would you do?"

"So they shouldn't have been there intact in the first place, let alone active." Ali frowned and shook her head. "I feel it would be easy for someone with that kind of power to keep the power. They could rule over others or defeat them easily enough - they'd have the advantage without even trying. Any sort of way to create order out of the chaos that they like.
"Personally, I'd try to create some order of if it, find a way to use the technology to build up if I could. Study how it could work now, with the qi energy we use."

"And in that respect, what Territories do oyu know of that have, develop, or know about Qi style guns?"
Violet would throw in to see if Ali knew them, if not she would name them.
"Lightning Territory, Prota's capital, and some that are not well known. However, they usually make custom works. Except one, the Black Market territory. The place the vagabonds call 'The First Land'. Territory One."

Thankfully, this is something Ali does know! She nodded.
"There didn't seem to be anyone from either Lightning Territory or Prota there, or markings to show their crafting. I assume that's why we were tasked to see if it really was Territory One supplying them, or if they were interrupting a supply train headed elsewhere." She frowned.
"So then it would be how Territory One is powering extinct weapons, and what they intend to do with them."

"Well we kind of know that."
Violet said as she eye'd Winters who shrugged.
"Ja, Frau... Zey vill sell veapons to whomever zey can. Iz a common practice for zeir black market. Ze most ve vill be doing iz checking in vith zem und making sure zey vere ze ones. Confirmation iz as important as anyzing else."

"So then what was the point?" She tried not to let her frustration show as she shook her head.

"From your report we suspected you may have found bandits that had found a still yet unraided Barker Facility. However this new turn of events makes things much more complicated"
Violet butted in and Winters nodded.
"While they are a known illegal black market their military power and perfect turtle defense makes it impossible to enforce laws on them as a neutral party. It is possible to attack them and likely take the city, but the loss of life and casualties would not be worth it. As well every nation has things to gain from business with them. So everyone practically ignores their wrong doings unless it is caught out in the world away from their city. In the city... They are untouchable."
