Enjoy the Silence (Avice/Open)

[Xapham]

Xapahm would be in his home-turned-workshop tinkering on the most recent bit of orders he had recieved. Nothing major, mostly tools and weapons that needed some maintenance done. He didn't care, so long as it gave him the opportunity to stay busy. And busy he was. So much so that of anyone were to come in, they would see the entire building was cluttered and messy. Might make one wonder how he found anything in here...

[Avice Locke]

Avice and Derik were out and about once more and with word and recommendation for some crafters she was brought to this humble shop. She opened the door and was already met with obstacles. With the door, she had not else but to scrape the debris across the floor a few inches to get it open enough to try and see what they might be.

"'Ello...?" she called rather loud in case there was someone whom would hear so she wasn't trying to damage something.

[Xapham]

"Yeah, in here."

Xapham would say raising a hand to mildly wave in the new customer while he looked through a magnifying glass at his current project.

"Feel free to take a seat on the couch. I'll be with you in a moment."

The man would say with a gruff voice. Avice would need only to turn her head to see the couch that was mentioned, and it too was covered in clutter...

[Avice Locke]

She made her way more opening the door a few inches, scraping the scrap with it. And upon looking at the couch she couldn't help but grin and raise a brow. "I hope ya don't mind me standin'. Babe keeps me up most o' the night and I might try an pass out."

[Xapham]

Xapham shrugged.

"Do what you want."

Then he went back to tinkering for a few moments before finally finishing... or reaching a stopping point? Avice wouldn't really be able to tell, hell she might not even understand what it was exactly that he was even working on! Standing up he would wipe his grease stained hands on a towel and walk over to Avice. Looking her up and down, gauging her.

"So, what is, what do you want?"

He looked at Derek and for a moment Avice would swear she saw Xapham's face soften and maybe his eyes got watery... but just as quickly as it had appeared it was gone. And he was back to the intense stare.

[Avice Locke]

"Sparin' the lon' story for the busy man unless 'im asks... What can ya tell me 'bout this?" she handed him the sizable chunk she must have had stuck to her person since the massacre. She could tell it had a power to it rather that was residue power or embued she couldn't really be certain. Speaking of power this one had an interesting aura one that felt connected to something. Curiosity might kill the cat but she decided to take a peek... pained souls were drawn to one another.

Qi sense - This is a static addition to her Qi, does not take a Qi slot. Avice can now sense those whose Qi energies are as strong or weaker than her own. She cannot sense Qi from those whose energy is stronger than hers. Must be within 50 feet of Avice to sense. Walls do not matter- she can sense them through any object not designed to block her.

[Xapham]

Avice would sense would hit a MASSIVE wall of dark emotions, pain, and torment. All surrounding this man like a tightly packed blanket. It clung to him so tight that she couldn't tell were it ended and he began...

Xapham, oblivious to her being nosy, would take the wood piece from her. He would hold it to the light and see symbols on it.

"Hmmm..."

He would walk over to his work desk and maneuver a table mounted magnifying glass over the wood, he would turn the lights on inside the magnifying glass to help in his searching.

"One thing I can tell you, is that thing still holds some power in it."

[Avice Locke]

"I thought it did..." she mentioned that much at least. Though she wondered what has kept this man from ending his time. she took one more look around at the bits, bobs, machinations, and tools and she wondered if he was simply sauntering by as if under a spell to keep working on something or anything. When he stops he'll likely be a clock that finally ticked its last tick, it was only a matter of time.

[Xapham]

"Hmmm..."

Xapgam would pull out a piece of paper and start copying the symbols he found. He could recognize any of them. Definitely something to look into. He had seen a lot during the War. To think that something like this could be old but unrecognizable...

"Oh, what's this..."

He would say as something caught his eye! He stisted the knob on the side of the Magnifying glass to make it zoom in.

"Interesting..."

He would rotate the piece of wood around continuing to examine it inch by inch before finally picking it up and handing it back to Avice.

"Whatever you have here. It's old. Old enough that I don't recognize these Runes dispite the years if extensive teaching I recieved. However, what I can tell you, is that not only does this thing still have power residing in it, but a crystal as well. Not only is that interesting in of itself, but it appears that the wood was formed over the crystal, as if it happened naturally in nature."

[Avice Locke]

She looked for what he saw. "'Ow old goes yar rune knowledge go? 'An does the wood itself have the Qi from the runes or the crystal?"

[Xapham]

"Well, to give you an idea, my father is the Archangel Gabriel, and he as well as the other Archangels were quite... insistent that knowledge is power, especially when ones place is in the church and to one day become an Archangel myself."

Then he would shrug and wave his hand.

"But that was a long time ago, and is neither here nor there. Anyways, as for that thing in your hands, I don't know what exactly holds the power, and it could be that no single thing does. But rather the combination of all those things together, point is I won't know unless you want me to take it apart, but if I do that there is a chance that it could lose the power it holds."

[Avice Locke]

"So dependin' on whom ya ask yar kinds been here since the beginin' o'time and ya say this is not known to ye?" giving her the family tree on a religion that has multiple different beliefs and believers she would be unsure where it left her. "Whomever knew this language is alive today, If I were do learn more... do you think you could point me in a direction? maybe if a younger branch or version of a similar language to this still exists?"

[Xapham]

Xapham let out a dry humorless chuckle.

"I'm only 25. My father Gabriel is in his 40's our family was blessed by God but by no means do we seriously believe that we are real Angel's. But we do study a LOT of theocracy in many different cultures, both current and long extinct. This just so happens to be one that I myself do not know. But, I have made copies of the symbols and intend to send them to my father and his brothers to see if they recognize them."

He would say as he showed her the scetches he had already made.

"Of course you are free to do your own research if that is what you will. I too will be searching for answers. Because, knowledge is power after all."

[Avice Locke]

"Aye... If my instincts are correct. This might be pretty critical knowledge." She nodded. "Ya said Yar Da was Gabriel but what be yar name?"

[Xapham]

"Xapham."

He would say bluntly, and sigh.

"I guess the courteous thing would be to ask your name."
