Oh the rage she was biting back on. It practically formed an aura around her, but if there was one thing Ali could do, it was channel it to a better result. Not like she wasn't talked down to all the time back home.
"For the most part," she echoed flatly. The woman certainly seemed able to control blood well enough, but given where she said she came from, that was only a minor surprise. The younger mage raised her brows.
"I fail to see the humor in the fact that, acting on your king's orders or otherwise, you are on a military compound, likely without permission, and you admit to acting on orders that can throw the agreement between the territories off even more than it already is. So," she nodded to the blood in the vial.
"If that is what you say it is, what kind of being is it, exactly, you think is trying to come out." Her head cocked slightly to the side, still not impressed.
"From one mage to another."

Alysa shrugged. She looked at the vial and swirled it around.
"Don't know who this in particular used to be. Though in our research we have found that blood from Ancient Warrors, heros of legend, great Kings and the like. Some had power, real power. But it is different from what we have today. We have what is commonly called Qi. But this was made possible after the world ended at the hands of Sean Barker. Evolution took its toll on us and the world around us. But back then, what they had was stronger. Older. And incredibly rare, and it has only gotten even more rare as time has gone and the reason for that, we believe, is because the old power never truly died. It is still around, hibernating. The blood of these ancient heroes is where it hides. Waiting for someone to awaken them, and bring back the heroes, or villains, that used to be a part of them."

The works of Sean Barker reared their head in her life once more. Ali would listen to the explanation without interrupting. Her eyes went to the swirling liquid, then Alysa, some of the rage deflating since she was being talked to like a human being instead of a child. Even the thought left a sour taste in her mouth.
"So something happened when the world changed to make this more dangerous than before, and not just because of the lost technology and myths." Again she focused on Alysa, eyes narrowed.
"And I'm assuming reliving the memory was my last step before a supposed end? Because I can think of a few who would be interested in that if they could bring it back in exchange for a life."

"What you experienced was one of this individuals memories as it was downloading its consciousness into you. Luckily, I stopped it from taking you over."
She frowned.
"What's dead is dead and should stay dead. Sure it's all very cool and interesting to raise the dead these days. But these things are different. If you raise them, you can't control them a d they will in turn gain power the likes of which none of us have ever seen. If their power was unimaginable back then, how bad do you think its going to be now in a world that feeds that strength?"
She sighed.
"For everyones sake. I hope that whoever you are thinking about isn't so foolish as to set about on a task like that. Remember always, absolute power corrupt absolutely. I don't care how heroic the hero, if they become too powerful its dangerous for everyone."

"At least we can agree the dead should stay dead." The frown returned as she took in the vial and Alysa as her attitude swung again towards scorn and haughtiness. Ali had had enough.
"I appreciate the explanation, but if you continue to talk down to me like a fool, this can go all kinds of ways. You're still trespassing, that's still my property, and while I am willing to hear you out on what it is you have to say, I can promise i have more than two brain cells to rub together. Now," she nodded at the vial.
"Seeing as I'm not interested in charging it further, may I have my blood back, or are you going to make this more complicated?" She could think of several components the blood could be for, but if the magic was as old as it seemed or as potent as she was told, then she couldn't just up and hand it to someone else, either.
Plus those other research options.

"Tsk tsk tsk. You don't like being talked down too? Than stop acting like a fool. You are still young and you think you can make big plays. That's dangerous. So mom you can't have the blood back. Because YOU are the exact type of individual that this needs to be kept away from. You've already been tainted. I can feel it swimming inside of you." Alysa would hold up the vial staring Ali in the eye. "Putrescat incendere interimant." And just like that the glowing blood would go dark turning back and rotten before igniting into flames. Alysa would let the vial drop but before it could even hit the ground the blood and vial were gone in a puff of ash. Alysa would stomp the ash for good measure. "Do what you will. We are leaving." Alysa would turn to leave and the man followed. Ali however would feel a rage even greater than she had ever felt before erupt from inside her. Her head would be full of pain. So much so it would make her collapse. The world would start to go dark around her until there was nothing. But just before she passed out completely. A Figure appeared in the darkness, glaring at her.

Ali didn't usually use religious statements, but she really hoped that woman burned in hell or some equivalent of it. Or got etiquette lessons, which could be just as bad. Whatever counter she had was taken back by the comment of taint. The words were of a familiar enough tongue that she recognized Alyssa's magic, much as she had before. But the blood was gone, and she felt nothing - not until the woman's foot planted itself in the ash and she turned to go, her companion silent as ever.
Rage filled her like nothing she had felt before. With a cry, her hands reached towards her head, gripping at her temples as teh world spun in wild circles around her as she fell to her knees. The lights faded and her ears rang as she collapsed onto teh floor, a figure unlike she'd seen glaring at her as if she were indeed a fool.
"Who...are you?"

The figure wod remain silent as it faded to the depths of her mind. But she knew his name immediately after she asked.
He was The Great God-King Xerxes, and he was now a part of her.
