The Crow Fell at Midnight (Open for up to 3)

[Xapham]

Xapham would just Hm. And turn to look at the discovery that Cara announced.

[Lucifer]

"A pearl. People used to have necklaces of them before the war. Haven't seen them in a while though."

Gemini remarked.

Cara had not found any indication of where it may have come from. No other pearls or jewelry missing its stone or anything of the sort.

Cain doesn't find a hole that the snake could have come in from, and the windows all seemed to be locked. 

[Cara Dunn]

"Huh." She takes a closer look at the pearl, twisting it in the light to see if there's anything reflective on the surface. "Don't really see anything else like it here." She looked at the others, then back to Gemini.

"Who'd have them if they're that rare then?"

[Cain Rhamos]

Cain scowls.

He's never seen a pearl before.

"So this snake just... poofed in here. I'm guessing she opened the door to someone she knew, and the snake got let in, then."

[Xapham]

Out of curiosity Xapham would note her positioning and look around to see what it was she might have been doing before the snake bit her. He would look to see if it looked like she was heading somewhere, or walking away from something.

[Lucifer]

The way her body was positioned and how she fell it looked like she was heading toward the bathroom when she died. However, the lack of mess around the body suggests she likely relieved herself before her death.

Gemini shrugged. "I don't know, rich people? What do I look like, one of those spoiled Zukunft nobles?"

Gemini turned to look back at Cain. "Maybe, you never know with those Crow types."

[Cara Dunn]

"At least you've seen one before. I'm sure I could ask some Zekunft noble the next time I find one." Yeah, right. Cara lowered the pearl, holding on to it with a sigh. "So a rare snake, a rare pearl, no sign of anything forced. But if it's not a pet and it was let in, there may be something outside of the apartment." She would get up, looking for other clues inside and outside the doorway leading out of hte apartment.

[Cain Rhamos]

Pearl. Snake. Dead person.

It was kind of adding up.

Cain looks around the bathroom, trying to see if there's anything around that could explain where the snake came from, since it attacked around there.

....could it fit through the toilet's drain?

[Xapham]

That... didnt make sense. If she didnt defecate after death then why was she heading to the bathroom... Xapham would head to the Bathroom and search!

"A rare snake, and a rare jewel. Both have nothing in common separately except for one thing, maybe."

Xapham would call out of the bathroom while he searched.

"Both could probably be easily acquired in the markets of Territory 1. If you know where to or who to ask..."

[Lucifer]

There is no doubt in Cain's mind that it is possible for the snake of that size to have slithered up from the toilet bowl, and the seat cover was not even down!

Xapham doesn't see anything weird in the bathroom other than Cain looking at the toilet! The counter has what one might expect, soap, toothbrush, and paste, even some hair curlers that some women wear when they go to bed.

Cara at first wouldn't notice anything strange about the hallway or outside, but when she turned back toward the apartment she'd notice a few scratches by the keyhole of the door. Like someone picked the lock.

[Cain Rhamos]

Eeeeee! Disgusting!

Cain makes a disgusted face.

"What if it came up from the toilet?! IS THAT A THING?!"

[Cara Dunn]

Cara frowned and turned back to head into the apartment, stopping to take a closer look at the scratches on the door.

"It looks like someone picked the lock from here. Probably the same way they left." She looked from the door to the blue-haired person in gold armor that she hadn't seen anyone wear back at the academy. It was kind of flashy.

"Say, we never got your name. Did you know the victim?"  She rolled her eyes at Cain's question and shook her  head, but didn't answer. 

[Xapham]

Xapham would look at Cain.

"That is unlikely. The snake wasn't wet and there is no sign of water on the floor."

[Lucifer]

"Gemini. Delegate from Olympus, Honor Guard of Ares, Leader of the Zodiacs, Avenger of the Fallen Sister. And no, not personally."

[Cain Rhamos]

"So the thing came through the door."

Cain assumes is what they're all saying.

Still... the toilet needs to be watched more often now...

Cain steps back out into the main room.
