The Box Death Came In (Ryan GM)

[Cara Dunn]

Charming fellow. Cara continued, unintimidated by teh glower but more than happy to stay out of immediate arm's range.

"I was told he knows a lot about qi beasts, even grew up around some. I had some questions about a certain type of beast I found."

[Lucifer]

"Uh huh."

The man didn't seem convinced.

"Where did you say you are from?"

[Cara Dunn]

"Little Cabal protectorate north of here called Saeta." She raised a brow at teh man. "I can show you the qi beast, if you don't believe me. It won't mind."

[Lucifer]

The man looked at her. Weighing it in his mind before reaching down and pulling out a small glass and filling it with a brown liquid.

"Drink."

[Cara Dunn]

Cara waited for him to make up his mind, glancing at the glance and brown liquid before looking back to the bartender.

"What kind of drink is it?"

[Lucifer]

"Alcoholic."

[Cara Dunn]

"Naturally." She snorted a laugh and took the shot. It wouldn't be bber in a shot glass, which she couldn't stand the taste of, and she'd had some experience with alcohol, so she'd take it in one go without fussing.

[Lucifer]

It was stronger than anything she'd ever had before, but it went down smooth.

"Hunter. Lady here to see ya."

A guy from down the bar looked up when he was called, lifting a hand before heading over.

"What's up?"

[Cara Dunn]

It was way stronger than what she'd had before, reminding her of her first shot of whiskey when she was younger if that whiskey had enough oomph to kick her like this one did. She blinked, hard, forcing her eyes shut for a moment as the taste passed.

"Name's Cara. One of the guys competing for the Dragonflame said you were the one to go to here for qi beasts." She nodded to the stool next to her, comfortable enough with the surroundings.

"Found one that we're certain bit a woman. Problem is, it's supposed to be rare, and very poisonous, from these parts. I was hoping to get some information on it. Where people can find them, for one thing. If there's been anyone working with or attacked by them lately. Any sort of temperament they tend to have."

[Lucifer]

"Nice to meet you, I think?"

He scratched the back of his head, this was all pretty sudden and weird.

"I mean it is possible. A lot of Qi Beasts are pretty dangerous. What was it?"

[Cara Dunn]

"Nice to meet you, too. Sorry for the bad manners; it's been a rough day." And still adjusting to teh fact people here acted like a hand eating someone was normal. But it was good to see he was a fairly normal person regardless of the scars.

"I don't know what kind it is, sorry. But I do have the remains if you think you could identify it."

[Lucifer]

"Well, if that's them in the box, maybe we should take it outside. People are eating and drinking in here."

He'd motion her to follow him out of the bar!

[Cara Dunn]

"Of course.. We don't need to ruin business or appetites." Last thing she wanted was to expose something poisonous here, or find out if there was a stench to the poor thing now that it had been dead a while.

She follows Hunter outside, following where he leads, or to a back street if he didn't. She idnd't feel like just opening the container out where kids were running around either.

[Lucifer]

He just leads her to the side of the building, but next to the main street.

"Alright, let's see what we are working with."

[Cara Dunn]

"Alright." Cara carefully removed the lid to the container, exposing the remains of the Qi beast they had found in teh investigation. Head separated from the body, of course.

"Unfortunately, the person who found it before us reacted to it striking."
