That... did not sound right but okay- stranger things could happen Bauldar supposed. He honestly could not imagine that random people could join as long as you party first but hey, maybe that’s just how things work around here!
What did he know?
Then something about their names which had struck him as odd, plus what Drake had mentioned about family, started to make more sense... He let his mind drift to something more appropriate to ask:
“Is that where you are headed off to? Back to the Lightning Country?”

Drake nodded.
"Eventually, yeah. I don't have to head back right now. Unlike Spike I haven't recieved any new orders yet... but yeah, Lightning Tower is where I've made my new home. Full of misfits like me."

"Actually, I've only had one job so far. And that was to hunt down people impersonating our group. They were threatening people and causing havoc. So I tore the group apart and hinted them down."

“So why did you join them? It was a recent thing, right? Was it worth it?”

That brought a smile to his face- Bauldar hadn’t known Drake for that long but yeah, he could totally see that happening.
“An accident, huh? Would they ever let you leave if you wanted to?”

He looked undecided about something for a minute longer before he finally said, “You think they would want one more?”
The unspoken question was, ‘would they want someone like me?”

He chuckled, his eyes dancing with an excitement that had only flickered there before.
He hopped out if his crouch easily, barely stopping to stretch a bit in his sudden eagerness.
“Really? Well lets go now then!! If you have nothing else you’d like to do first? And maybe on the way you can tell me what happened to that arm of yours.” He said teasingly, mischief in his expression.

Drake went silent for a moment and looked at his missing arm.
"I cut it off. I cut it off to survive an encounter with a creature that had infected me. A creature I ran into during a quest for power, a quest that I was on only because my Father called me weak. But I survived. So fuck him."
He then looked back to Bauldar and placed his hand on his hip.
"I think that answers your question and any follow up questions you might've had."

Looking more somber but not put off by the brusque answer, Bauldar replied in a kind and understanding voice, “Aye. I do believe that summed it up nicely.” He smiled at Drake before saying,
“Not many would be strong enough to survive that. But as one who has heard similar words from my own father, let me just say- fuck him indeed.” Bauldar then gave him a solid, but friendly, thump on the back in solidarity.
