Bauldar’s face twisted into a grimace. “Definitely. He was the one who banished me. I mean, no one stopped him, but it was his decision in the end.”
He shook his head again, a habit he had picked up as a way to help disperse his negative thoughts after all the long nights with nothing but his thoughts for company on the pirate ship.
His expression turned wry. “Real winners we got there, eh?”

His melancholy had returned but he brightened at Drake’s words.
“How true that is... there’s no one left for me there. Not any more.”
Bauldar turned and smiled at his new companion. “At least the company here is pretty good.”
Because no matter how sick in his heart he felt, he had never been the kind of person who would foist his own dark mood upon anyone else if he could help it. He didn’t want to bring Drake down with his loss.

Bauldar straight up grinned at that.
“I’m glad you think so! Would’ve been terribly awkward if I joined this family of yours and we couldn’t stand each other. Definitely would have made the walk there sliiiiightly unpleasant. Speaking of, do you want to head out? I don’t know how long a trip it will be, hell, I don’t even know what this land looks like! So I will follow your lead.”

Small being the operative word. Would he even fit in this thing?
Looking slightly like he thought the car was a beast about to strike, Bauldar carefully maneuvered his bulk inside the vehicle, practically folding in half at moments to get enough clearance for his antlers. Once he was finally settled, he was scrunched up on himself as best as he could, feeling entirely out of his element, and quite possibly become a permanent fixture of this so called “car”.
He tried shooting the smaller man a dubious look but his antlers were unfortunately stuck so all he could do was try to convey the entirety of his concern about this plan without moving his neck.
“You’re sure about this?”

He would say... then he would crank on the engine which would roar to life as Qi filled the engine! Then Drake would floor it!
