Climbing a Mountain... Again. (Stigma, GM)

That was strange... there must be some sort of trick to it...

"...thank you, Hermes. I'll see you when I get back, most likely."

Cain gives a small bow at the waist, before turning to follow Stigma and the light.

[Lucifer]

"Just remember the path you chose is this one."

He said in final warning as they followed the sprite down the mountain. They would make it about halfway when a cave that was not there before opened in the side of the mountain. Leading downward, it's oppressive darkness all but swallowing the light of the wisp that danced at the entrance of the cave.

After happily chasing the wisp, it came as much of a surprise when a cave suddenly opened up. She'd stop and face it, furrowing her brow.

"How strange. Staring into the cave makes me feel like my hair is standing on end." she'd say mostly to herself.

Still, not one to falter when it came to an important task, she'd tentatively put one foot forward. Just to see if she could feel anything...different.

This light could have opened this cave, but Cain's not entirely sure.

"Take it slow, Stigma. Hermes wouldn't have warned us if it wasn't dangerous."

He cautiously steps forward as well, trying to use his other senses as his eyesight clearly wouldn't be that helpful.

The light of the wisp barely illuminated the way in front of them. It was hard to see anything, but there was a presence of something else being there with them. Just out of sight. Just beyond earshot. Cain would feel something sliding along the back of his neck up toward the base of his skull...

Stigma is able to see that the path in front of her is about to narrow against a wall over a possibly bottomless pit. One that will spiral downward.

Stigma would push him towards the wall before trying to show him how...tricky...the path was about to become.

"We're going to have to be very careful." she'd whisper, mostly due to wanting to hear if that presence moved closer at all.

If there weren't more things to deal with first, Stigma would carefully go first in terms of navigating the thinning path, keeping her back against the wall.

Cain reaches back to grab whatever it is, before throwing it to the side!

He doesn't want to take the chance that it's something less magical, and more directly dangerous.

"I'll be careful."

...

"...thank you."

He grumbles out, before following slowly, carefully, feeling his way along the wall as well.

Cain wouldn't feel another when he reached back there. Except the feeling of something sliding down his spine...

The path was narrow and parts of it crumbled as they slowly moved down it, but they were able to make their way slowly down the path back to solid ground. It was here that the darkness began to lighten, another light coming from a tunnel leading deeper into the mountain. A trickle of water running over the rocks underfoot.

She could feel herself relax a bit now that they reached some solid ground. She'd look back at Cain to make sure all was well with him, but continue onwards.

She didn't think much of the water for now, it didn't seem too out of place.

"I wonder how far it will be."

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING?

Cain reaches under his shirt to try and grab it, pausing where he's at.

"It... can't be too far..."

[Lucifer]

Cain isn't finding anything, but he can feel it is out there. Just out of sight. Breathing on his neck with a chill air.

As they got closer to the light they would find the water flowing freely until they reached an underground lake with a dock on each side. In front of them with a lantern hanging over it was a rickety old boat and a woman standing on the dock with arms folded.

"You're a bit livelier than most people that come through here. Did you get lost?"

Stigma's too focused to notice Cain's dilemma. Especially when she finds another person!

"We were told this was the way to find Hades..." she'd say somewhat timidly, suddenly worried they may be in the wrong place.

No...the light should have shown her the proper path, right?

Oh Gods-damnit. This was some kind of mind games thing...

Cain grits his teeth, clenches his fists, and shuffles closer to the dock, eager to get more solid footing.

"We want to ask him about a soul he has in his possession."

[Lucifer]

She clicked her tongue.

"Hermes. His light, of course."

She sighed.

"You should probably forget about it. His presence is not something one can endure lightly. Even for a God. If this is a whim or curiosity I would suggest you turn back and enjoy the life you still have to live."

She looked over to Stigma.

"Or lives."

[Stigma Wyatt]

"Something was taken from me, it's not just curiousity." Stigma would try to stand firm.

"If there's a way to get it back, I want to."
