WR shook their head.
"I'm good, thanks. Unless you want something." They shrugged, sliding their hands into their pockets as they stared down the horizon...

"I basically live off of coffee, if I am being totally honest." Shiloh giggled softly, leading WR in the general direction of one of the displays she had mentioned. There was a small coffee shop on the way, and if the urge struck her, they could stop there and get something. "I always have a cup with me when I am working."

"Then lets get you a cup, yeah?" WR turned to her with a smile.

"Are you sure you don't want anything? My treat!"
She motioned to them and began to head towards the shop she knew. "They actually have a really, really awesome campfire mocha, if you like chocolate."

WR waved a hand dismissively, shifting their body in the direction of the coffee shop.
"Nah, I'm fine. Let's focus on you." Was all they would say.

Her brows furrowed. She came to a full stop, turning to look at WR with obvious confusion. Tilting her head slowly to one side, she looked as if she was contemplating a complicated math equation.
"I... oh... kay..." She swallowed back her concern, giving a shake of her head as if dislodging the thoughts. Then, she continued to walking towards the coffee shop.

WR stopped as Shiloh did, turning to her with a brow raised. They were confused by her confusion. Did they say something wrong? Did they press one of her triggers accidentally? All kinds of thoughts swarmed their head in their halt, but as Shiloh started to walk again, they shook their head and shrugged it off, lagging behind her as she led the way.
"So, how did you and Adelaide meet?" They asked with genuine curiosity.

"I was the photographer for all of the TSI interviews that the newspaper did, and she was there. I always sorta saw her in the background, you know?" Shiloh smiled softly as they continued on their way towards the coffee shop. "She looked so lonely. So I decided to talk to her."

"That's cute," WR grinned.
"And you've been besties ever since?"

She nodded, still smiling.
"Adel was my first actual friend, and she's the best person I know. She seems so harsh and mean, but she's not. She's a big teddy bear, under it all."

"Yeah, that's usually how it goes." WR shrugged, their grin remaining as they thought about their teenage self.
They went silent again for a moment.
"I need you to make me a promise."
They finally said, turning to Shiloh with pain in their eyes.

Shiloh paused again, turning to face WR completely. She tilted her head to one side.
"Whats the promise?" She asked.

"Be there for her. Always. If something happens between you, make amends. If something happens to her, push forward. Always. Let her be the kindle that lights your fire, and no matter what happens, never give up on her. Can you promise me that?"
Their gaze turned cold, as if all joy had been sucked out of their soul.

Shiloh's smile softened. She looked down at her camera, and when she spoke, she spoke softly, almost too softly to hear.
"Adelaide..." She obviously very rarely ever utilized the girl's full first name. "Adelaide is one of the only reasons I've made it through this year. I'm not... ever going to leave her, unless she tells me to. And even if she does, I'll always be here, waiting for her... She promised me she would find me, no matter where I went, and I already promised her the same thing..." She gently stroked her camera, before looking back up at WR.
"She's one of the reasons, you know... one of the reasons I want to save the world."

WR turned away and nodded solemnly.
"Good. Wish I coulda been more like you when I was younger," They scoffed and scratched the back of their head, consumed by thoughts of their old life.
"But hey, let's save the world together, yeah? I don't know you well, but I'd go to Hell and back for you. Adelaide too."
They shrugged.
