She smiled, reaching out to gingerly run her fingertips along WR's hand. It was a gentle, comforting motion, something she had done often when WR was in the hospital.
"I promised you something. Will you promise me something, too?"

WR smiled at her.
"Sure. Shoot."

"This family we are... all building. It's small, and I don't... want it to fall apart. No matter what happens, to any of us..." She continued to speak softly, almost as if she were afraid somebody would overhear them. She kept her gaze averted from WR, not able to look them in the face. "I... Family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten..."
She glanced up at them, then, and the meaning was clear in her eyes. Shiloh was afraid: she was terrified of war, of violence, of anything that could take her family away from her. She knew what war would mean... that people would die. That she could die, or any of the others. She knew that it was coming, no matter what people said to try and comfort her, and she knew she would have to face it soon... and that scared the daylights out of her.
"No matter what happens, to any one of us, just... please promise me that no one will get left behind or forgotten."

WR hesitated, thinking, unsure of how to respond. They were never one to break a promise, but their mission was to protect and save others at their own expense, even if it meant death. They shook their hands around in their pockets and stared at her with a clear uncertainty in their eyes.
"We'll keep everyone alive, in physical or in memory." They eventually said with a smile before returning their gaze to the ground.
"I promise."

That was good enough for Shiloh. She nodded her hand, reaching out again for WR's hand. This time, the motion wasn't meant to comfort them. For a moment, a brief moment, if WR would let her, Shiloh would cling to her fingertips, trying to take comfort in the closeness and comfort of family.
Adelaide. WR. DJ. Drake. Rai. Her family was small, but it was larger than it had ever been. They all meant the world to her. She meant what she had said before: she wanted to save the world... for them. For every person who had ever known true loneliness, for every child, for every parent or sibling or friend. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath through her nose before repeating, softly, "Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten..."

WR raised a brow at... whatever... this was. It made them uncomfortable one because they didn't like to be touched, and two because they didn't know exactly what she was doing. But, they allowed it, very briefly, then returned their hands to their pockets where they belonged. Touchy people were fucking weird.
"So, where's the coffee place exactly?" They finally said to change the subject. Shiloh always managed to get them stuck in their head when she was around, and they fucking hated it. But, it wasn't something they could be mad at her about, so the best they could do was deal with it.

Shiloh pulled her hand away and nodded. She looked up and pointed over at the corner of the street they were at.
"Up here! It's actually my favorite place." She tried to return her typical smile to her face.
