New in Town? (Xowie)

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie nodded.

"That is better than jumping to conclusions or making rude generalizations."

[Adelaide]

"Yeah... Anyways, what are you doing out here? I thought this area was typically more on the abandoned side since the meta's moved in, are you a Meta?"

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie tilted her head at the question...s.

"I don't know," She cupped her jaw with her hands and looked at her with wide eyes.

"I was just looking for something to do."

[Adelaide]

"You... don't know if you're a Meta?"

She asked raising an eyebrow, not sure if this girl's attempt was to squeeze out of answering Adelaide's second question on purpose or just coincidentally.

[Xowie Evil]

She nodded again.

"I only remember the last few weeks of my life."

[Adelaide]

"Oh... I... I'm sorry. Where are you staying hun?"

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie huffed and shoved her hands into her pockets.

"The apartments over there."

She pointed to the general direction of the meta apartments.

[Adelaide]

"Oh, I see, that's good. You aren't having any issues over there are you? I've got some friends that live there that can help you out if you need it?"

[Xowie Evil]

She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped, and looked back at the ground. She kicked her feet around in the dirt while she thought about it.

She liked her apartment a lot, and her neighbors were nice... but she spent a lot of time, alone, cooped up in her room. Sometimes it was nice, and she would just watch scary movies or work on new makeup designs. But other times, she got really depressed, and it was crippling.

After a careful mental deliberation, she looked back up, and smiled. She wasn't going to let those voices conquer her today, at least not externally.

"No, everything's okay."

[Adelaide]

"Ok, cool..."

Adelaide would look around and notice the book Xowie had.

"Oh, what's that?"

She would say pointing at the book.

Xowie took a small step back as Adelaide pointed and examined herself carefully. Oh, she was talking about the manga.

She shyly plucked at the spine and pulled it out of her pocket, holding it out to her with both hands. The cover was entirely in Japanese, and the illustrations were... well, it wasn't very clear what exactly was going on there. It looked like some sort of children's book mixed with eldritch horror, though.

"It's part of the manga I'm reading..." She squeaked again, cowering into her hoodie.

[Adelaide]

"Oh yeah? Badass, I don't recognize this one. What is it about?"

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie held the manga up in front of herself, smiling, staring at the cover. It was easier to talk this way.

"A little girl named Tsu and her friends get sucked into a dollhouse and... well, it's evil, and everything comes to life and they're trying to escape, but they're all getting picked off one by one... it's really good, but a lot of people don't like it. The last person I showed it to ripped it up..."

She shook her head as she recalled the memory.

"Do you like manga?" She peeked her head over the book with wide eyes, tilting her head curiously.

[Adelaide]

"Hell yeah, may not look it but I gotta little weeabo in me."

She chuckled.

"But I definitely prefer the horror mystery genre!"

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie smiled, carefully rolling the manga back up and sliding it back in her pocket. She chuckled lightly at Adelaide's joke.

"Me too. I love horror... anything macabre, or gothic..." She trailed off, staring blankly somewhere into Adelaide.

She shook her head after a moment, and frowned.
